My theory is this: LPs were sellable but bulky CDs came along and distribution costs halved (because units shifted doubled for same effort) CDs sold the same as LPs, therefore profit Profit = strong industry = lots of good work and innovation Napster came along, money fell out of industry, industry participants (ie artists) left profit made by selling ring tones - hence crazy frog charting itunes made music profitable again, but far less so than the golden era of CD distribution music money now earned through one hit wonders on youtube - eg Gangnam style. Very few full albums that are works of art in their entirety a-la Avalanches since I left you or moon safari by air, or any of the amazing hit-packed albums of the 90s. The golden age of music is over.

Gosh, does this remind me of happier times back in the 90's! The 90's was an awesome decade, all the best games and songs came out in the 90's and very early 00's, eg 2000-2001! I wish I could go back just to re live the 90's as a youngster. Today is too PC and health and safety has gone MAD!!!
