Thank you for posting.....My father is Pete Moore of The Miracles, he is no longer here with us in the physical. He was the most humble and intelligent person to converse with....he was my best friend and love of my life!! millions of blessings to you always
Your father is a LEGEND! Motown is spiritual. They changed the world. So sorry you father is not here with you in the physical, but he is definitely in heaven!
Just can't believe that all but Billy Griffin is still alive while all the others are now up there giging with their other Motown stable-mates. What a WONDERFUL era of music this was. I thank God I was born to hear and see it all originally unfold before my Motown hungry teenage years. Stoned Love, Steve.
My God! Those outfits along with their voices are straight slaying me!! I can remember loving this song when I was about 8 or 9, I’m 55 now and it still sounds good!!
@@larsjarredspeetjens Fred Sanford said it best "The haves and the haves Nots." We weren't aware of any distributions. What part of town were you living on?

The Miracles already had Grammys before Billy joined . In fact the Miracles have more songs inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, then any other Motown group... Even more than the Supremes and the Temptations That is why right now in Los Angeles, The Miracles are receiving a special honor at the Grammy Museum in downtown LA. It's called "LEGENDS OF MOTOWN: HONORING THE MIRACLES". The special exhibit will continue until summer 2017. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Miracles_awards_and_achievements#Grammy_Hall_of_Fame www.grammymuseum.org/exhibits/legends-of-motown-celebrating-the-miracles
Warren "Pete" Moore, an original member of the first Motown group, The Miracles, died yesterday (November 19, 2017) on his 79th birthday. Moore formed the Miracles with childhood friend Smokey Robinson. Once the group was signed by Motown as its first major act, Moore and Robinson began actively writing songs together, and they became a force, penning hits for their own group, such as “Ooh Baby Baby,” as well as for other groups like The Tempations (“Since I Lost My Baby”) and Marvin Gaye (“I’ll Be Doggone”). Once Robinson left the group, Moore soldiered on with new lead singer Billy Griffin, co-writing the #1 hit “Love Machine” and producing much of the group’s 70s hits.
Millennial here, i found a 70s dance party in my parents cd collection and decided to give it a try. I have a whole new appreciation for 70s music, theres so much lyrical diversity and so many instruments that make amazing songs as opposed to the songs my generation adores like 'baby' or 'work work work'
wow... I remembering growing up listening to Billy Griffin and the Miracles.... WOW.. real music... miss this type of sound... Nothing like it now.....Bring it back....
It seems like Soul and Rock Music have been lost in the time warp! Today’s kids listen to nothin but RAP which sounds the same to me! No medley, harmonizing vocals, , and simply no soul!
"Love Machine" is a 1975 single recorded by Motown group The Miracles, taken from their album City of Angels. The song was a #1 Pop smash on the Billboard Hot 100, and the biggest-selling hit single of The Miracles' career. This single was one of two Billboard Hot 100 Top 20 hits recorded by The Miracles with Billy Griffin as lead vocalist; the other is 1973's "Do It Baby". Griffin had replaced Miracles founder Smokey Robinson as lead singer in 1972. The song features a growling vocal by Miracle Bobby Rogers, with group baritone Ronnie White repeating "yeah, baby" throughout the song.
I'm from Baltimore Nd and we were and still are very proud of our hometown boy who made it bigtim e and became the guy that finally gave the miracles an outright bona fide #1 hit !
Funny, no one thought those hot pink outfits and Billy's exaggerated dance moves on "Love Machine" were a little flamboyant. It seems the public back then was more open minded back then...interesting! Love the vocals!!!
Their clothes and moves were nothing unusual then, or now, for that matter. Dang lady! these boys are just SUPER FLY and possess something in their DNA which makes them ultra cool, able to move with effortless grace and able to sing like angels of soul! xxx
Baby Girls you had to be there. This was the 70's and those were the styles. It's a begone era that you young people will never experience. Not trying to be mean but it sucks to be you. No shootings because someone stepped on my toe, no terror attacks and no president elect stump. You truly had to be there, the good ole days were no auto tune everybody could sang!
I love this love machine I love the fact that Billy Griffin sings it it's my favorite version I don't care who else tries to sing it they're not singing it the way they did with Billy Griffin 😊
Love the memories. I was just in the beginning of my teen years ... and bought the music (45's) with my allowance, in Harlem USA ...yeah, I loved music at that early age ... enough to spend my money on it as a little man.
I'm just a love machine!!!!!! LOL i sware music is a good cure. I just got home, had a very bad ruff day but the music puts a smile back on my face :) especially these classics.
I love the way Billy Griffin does these two songs. And I really, really want one of them pink suits with the shoes to match, ok! This makes me remember why I loved the '70s so much. Psychadelic!!!

I gotta agree with you too my friend. I'm only 38, but I do remember hearing these two cuts being played when I was a youngster. And after reading some of the history of things, The Miracles were supposed to have had more hits than they did. Billy Griffin on lead vocals was awesome. Great post :)
This brings back some awesome memories! Thanks for posting. I also remember another Miracles song from that era called "Give me just another day"... It doesn't play much on oldies station but I consider it a real classic. Actually they had a lot of tunes on their albums that could have become hits if ever released as singles. I guess is now too late to bitch so let's just say we keep them in our hearts as hits.
Good ole days, good music and good groups. The best performers ever in the 70's none like any of them. Bring back great memories i'll never forget. Never having to lock your door or car being stolen. Disco was a fun way of art and is missed.

Pete Moore always reminded me of Levi Stubbs-they both could have soared as solo acts, but they stayed loyal to their roots.
rip, ❤ , he brought lots of joy to total strangers just thru his mysic!!👏👏❤️🥇🥇
So smooth, tight, and professional. That was from an era when performers really took pride in themselves and their presentations.
