In 1947 total population of pandits was only 5% in Kashmir valley. In 1989 most pandits moved to Jamu n Ladhak, some relocated to other states and few got killed sadly. This all happened under presence of Indian army 7 lac. More kashmiris have got killed ever since which is sad. In 1947 when India was divided by the British into India and Pakistan. Kashmir was Ruled by a King called Gulab Singh. Britain allowed him to choose to either join with Pakistan or India . While he was still in the process of deciding , Pakistan "invaded" Kashmir with soldiers dressed in civilian attire . Being under siege Gulab Singh called India for help. Thereafter India took the matter to the UN. The UN security council resolution 48 was then issued . This resolution should be read by those who wish to clearly understand the Kashmir Conflict.

In the 19th century, the British failed to resolve the Aksai Chin dispute with China so India picked it up in 1947, but given these facts, Aksai Chin is clearly not a part of India (it has nothing to do with India period). We Chinese do not dispute India's claim over Ladakh even though Ladakh is really Tibetan, so don't pull our Aksai Chin into your Kashmir issue. I have no opinion on Azad Kashmir v. Indian-occupied Kashmir but keep Aksai Chin out of your dispute with Pakistan.

I hv been to kashmir, and Kashmir on average has better facilities than rest of India. There were 3 conditions in the resolution, which were passed line by line, hence will be implemented in the below given order:- 1. Pakistan removes all Military personnel and Civilians from the territories not in its sovereignty on August 14, 1947. That's basically all of Jammu and Kashmir. 2. Then India withdraws most of its personnel from the state, but can keep enough forces for maintaining law and order. 3. Then a plebiscite will be held to determine the will of the people, and they'll be given the choice of joining India or Pakistan (No option for independence). Pakistan never fulfilled condition 1. Hence the resolution is null and void. Also, this resolution is non-binding. Lastly, Pakistan signed the Simla Accords with India in 1972, in which they agreed that Jammu and Kashmir is a bilateral issue, and no third party will be allowed, as per UN guidelines. But Pakistan has already never fulfilled condition 1. So this plebiscite issue is a dead duck.

I fully support the right of Kashmiris for self determination given the situation since last 70 years. But pls do not ignore the non-Muslim Kashmiris. At least have the decency to cover all aspects and keep aside your narrative for a change. The Kashmiri Pandit genocide and ethnic cleansing was not even mentioned or acknowledged. Mention of Buddhist/Sikhs/X'tian Kashmiris - none. Settling illegal Rohingya's in Jammu - not mentioned. Misuse of political power by the Kashmiri politicians - not mentioned. Impact of article 370 on other parts of the state like Ladakh/Jammu - ignored. Pakistani involvement - brushed aside stating they have denied it - how's that for a joke. How on earth can you guys get away with such biased coverage? FYI, I'm not a Modi fan so you stop frothing in your mouth. Pakistan removes all Military personnel and Civilians from the territories not in its sovereignty on August 14, 1947. That's basically all of Jammu and Kashmir. 2. Then India withdraws most of its personnel from the state, but can keep enough forces for maintaining law and order. 3. Then a plebiscite will be held to determine the will of the people, and they'll be given the choice of joining India or Pakistan (No option for independence). Pakistan never fulfilled condition 1. Hence the resolution is null and void. Also, this resolution is non-binding. Lastly, Pakistan signed the Simla Accords with India in 1972, in which they agreed that Jammu and Kashmir is a bilateral issue, and no third party will be allowed, as per UN guidelines. But Pakistan has already never fulfilled condition 1. So this plebiscite issue is a dead duck.

In 1947 when India was divided by the British into India and Pakistan. Kashmir was Ruled by a King called Gulab Singh. Britain allowed him to choose to either join with Pakistan or India . While he was still in the process of deciding , Pakistan "invaded" Kashmir with soldiers dressed in civilian attire . Being under siege Gulab Singh called India for help. Thereafter India took the matter to the UN. The UN security council resolution 48 was then issued . This resolution should be read by those who wish to clearly understand the Kashmir Conflict.

India's claim to Aksai Chin started with the Sikh Empire conquering Ladakh in the early 19th century (Ladakh had disputed Aksai Chin with Tibet then China). In the 19th century, the British failed to resolve the Aksai Chin dispute with China so India picked it up in 1947, but given these facts, Aksai Chin is clearly not a part of India (it has nothing to do with India period). We Chinese do not dispute India's claim over Ladakh even though Ladakh is really Tibetan, so don't pull our Aksai Chin into your Kashmir issue. I have no opinion on Azad Kashmir v. Indian-occupied Kashmir but keep Aksai Chin out of your dispute with Pakistan.

There were 3 conditions in the resolution, which were passed line by line, hence will be implemented in the below given order:-
1. Pakistan removes all Military personnel and Civilians from the territories not in its sovereignty on August 14, 1947. That's basically all of Jammu and Kashmir.
2. Then India withdraws most of its personnel from the state, but can keep enough forces for maintaining law and order.
3. Then a plebiscite will be held to determine the will of the people, and they'll be given the choice of joining India or Pakistan (No option for independence).
Pakistan never fulfilled condition 1.
Hence the resolution is null and void.
Also, this resolution is non-binding.
Lastly, Pakistan signed the Simla Accords with India in 1972, in which they agreed that Jammu and Kashmir is a bilateral issue, and no third party will be allowed, as per UN guidelines.
But Pakistan has already never fulfilled condition 1.
So this plebiscite issue is a dead duck.
