- Fadi Aldeeb is Gaza’s only Paralympian. He was paralyzed from the waist down after an Israeli sniper shot him in 2001. While his main sport is basketball, Fadi qualified to compete in the shot put event at the 2024 Paris Paralympics.
He says the last 10 months have been difficult for him to train. Fadi has lost 17 family members, including his brother, in the ongoing genocide.
“I want to raise my Palestinian flag there,” Fadi says about this year’s Paralympic games. The 40-year-old says that despite the hardships, he’s determined to win big for his country and keep the world’s attention on Gaza.

Athletes like Fadi are the true greatest athletes of all time. "Israeli" athletes should not have been allowed to participate in the Olympics. They shouldn't be allowed to participate in the Paralympics or Special Olympics, either. As much as I like watching US women's gymnastics, I don't think the US should have competed, either. No one should ever be proud to wear the flag of a country that is committing genocide. When including all casualties, not just deaths, the collateral damage ratio of the "mowing" operations is a staggering 162:1
From the 161,233 accumulated civilian casualties over only 14 years of "mowing" operations.
A 162 :1 ratio means that for every 162 civillians, 1 military personnel is a casualty. The 7th had a ratio of 1.4:1, more than a hundred times lower.
The 473 are - 55 soldiers, 13 privates, 59 corporals, 200 sergeants (45 of whom were sergeant majors), 48 commanders, 32 lieutenants, 5 lieutenant colonels, 6 colonels, 37 officers, 10 inspectors, 6 intendents, and 2 Lance Corp. This was a military defeat, and they are taking it out on the rest.
