A guy contacted me after he "spawn-killed" me when i just bought my very first destroyer in low-sec or nullsec (don't remember, exactly) just to tell me that I should've bought in high-sec. He then proceeded to advise me on how to progress in the game. He never reimbursed me though.
When i started quite some time ago on my first account i got killed in a gnosis i got from an event, the guy reimbursed my ship, and gave me advice on training and learning, community is usually great
So i just tried EVE for the first time ever today. Even with the new tutorial, its so confusing at times and in the first 10 mins of this video you renewed my interest with how you travel and how simple it can ACTUALLY be. The sense of adventure in this game in what draws me in. Thank you so much for the video man. a year later from the time u made it and its still helping us newbies in the galaxy. Much love brother

@@Sklasik eve is not about play. it's about suffering. If you want suffer less - you have to watch videos like this, if you want to have fun in eve you have to spent at least 8 hours every day in game and another part of day watch videos like this.

There are Help channels for new players, however they tend to be crowded during peak playing times, and questions can get lost; if you are a new player, Galentte faction and the "Centre for Advanced Studies" is the best Corps to join; we have lots of people willing to help and answer questions, and also run several special interest groups for Fleets running PVE and PVP combat in High, Low, Null and Wormhole space; and in a variety of ships that will be replaced FOC if you die. CCP tell us we have the best new player retention rate of any corps, and the above is why. Once you know how to play, you can always start a new alt in a different faction if you want to, however as AcewFace says, you can fly ANY ship if you train the skills.

I started playing Eve Online around 4 days ago, after playing Eve Echoes for over a year, I enjoy both games but there's a complexity to EO that's really rewarding, as well as being visually more stunning than Echoes. I'm a bit late (10 month lol) but as a very new player(literally played this for like 10 mimutes) everything is huge done like 4 missions, pretty simple so far lock to target shoot go close and they are dead. What got me downloading is not the big battles but the vast economy, learned there is no ai in the making there are legit corporations, nations all of these just hooked me up. Ill give it a shot see how much will i understand wish me luck

I actually had no idea what you meant by not wardeccable for a bit there until I got on and saw that one of the many changes was that corp structures were required for wardec's. I'm very tempted to drop an application. I'm now skilling into trig ships for crushing burner missions, but I'm inclined to do null ratting because I'm already reasonably skilled with carriers. Minus the fact I don't own one yet >___< otherwise the new abyssal deadspace looks fairly cool. And I already have a full set of high grade crystal :P
This comes across like a management sim with a space game attached to it. Not my kind of game but I just wanted to say - excellent video and I enjoyed watching it! I have put it in my favs folder because its like a calming story for me. Great work!
It can be a management game, or you can play as a miner, or build yourself up as a manufacturer. None of those really interested me - I spent a couple of years mostly doing PVE missions, then spent time in 0.0 in a corp out there. My best time was in PVP corps, mostly in Faction Warfare, forming fleets and looking for fights, with no management required at all. But everything you buy or use is made by someone else who gets their kicks out of doing that.
@@CyberSystemOverload Yes, there is a huge amount of PVE, agents who give you missions and rewards for completion. Or you can be a builder or miner. I played for months at first, without joining a player corp and with virtually no interaction with others. But (in my view) you get the best out of the game by playing with others. However that is not how a lot of people roll, and there is huge scope to develop and grow solo.
@@JohnSecker So it is possible to tool around solo. Will check it out :-) And there will be no human players griefing you? You can pick PvE servers where no human can attack you?
@@CyberSystemOverload Sort of. The is only one live instance of Eve, so everyone is playing in the same universe - that's a feature I really like. But the universe is made up of thousands of solar systems, with different levels of security. In High Security systems, if someone attacks you the law (Concord) will quickly arrive and destroy their ships, so you will only get grief if you have some spectacularly valuable cargo (which as a newbie you will not have). In Low Sec law enforcement is less stringent, and you will be at more risk. And in Null Sec there is no law at all, and you must survive or die. So by sticking to the higher security systems you are pretty much guaranteed no PVP attacks - though of course the rewards are much greater if you are prepared to enter the riskier areas.
Loving the vid, one thing i would add is train skills in levels, so 1, 1, 1, 2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3 depending on what level you need for next skill. reason being is lvl1 is fast to learn so gives you a nice boost across the board for little time, instead of waiting a long time for a single skill to finish before moving on. also traingin to level 3 is also pretty quick comapred to lvl 4 and 5's, so getting several skills to 3 oculd be a better option to get one skill to 4.

I tried this game a few years ago and it's the most beautiful game I've ever seen. Unfortunately for me, it was so complicated I don't think I lasted longer than 3 hours. I'm going to watch your entire tutorial series, and start again. I work full time and have an infant son so this whole "it'll take years to get it, it's a grind" stuff is not exactly comforting, if I'm honest. But I'll give it a whirl again

I downloaded. I got my ship. A really cool GM greeted me and gave me a new ship. I went to the skill points section and just started adding points. Then I realized it will take 25 days to complete to level 4, and I got super lost. Then I got a message from some random person in Noob chat who told me not to fly the ship I was given by the GM because I can't afford to lose it. My friend who plays bought me a Sub, said it would help. I logged in again to claim my daily rewards. I modified the look of my character. It has been 16 days and I have not left the hanger bay of the starting area. Because I can't afford to lose what I can't buy back. So....that is my Eve Story.

It all depends on what you consider to be meaningful." The reason why you hear that so much if that most people are NOT content being second class citizens in a largely PvP system.
yes, your first few seconds describe why i havent gotten into eve in many many years, despite it always being on my radar. looks very complicated and due to being able to pay, you can/will lose lots of time spent playing because you die to long time players or paying players.

Then made a separate account using your link. But I don't see the extra skill point package you mentioned. Is there a way to see what account I'm signed in to? Having a hard time finding an account manager.

To see which account used the link in your redeem queue (bottom left) you can see 1000 000 skillpoints. You can always ask the eve support if you have more problems support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us

It can be a management game, or you can play as a miner, or build yourself up as a manufacturer. None of those really interested me - I spent a couple of years mostly doing PVE missions, then spent time in 0.0 in a corp out there. My best time was in PVP corps, mostly in Faction Warfare, forming fleets and looking for fights, with no management required at all. But everything you buy or use is made by someone else who gets their kicks out of doing that.
@@JohnSecker Oh there is a PvE? Can be played solo? I am not into any kind of multiplayer in any of my games. Always like heading out alone.
@@CyberSystemOverload Yes, there is a huge amount of PVE, agents who give you missions and rewards for completion. Or you can be a builder or miner. I played for months at first, without joining a player corp and with virtually no interaction with others. But (in my view) you get the best out of the game by playing with others. However that is not how a lot of people roll, and there is huge scope to develop and grow solo.
@@JohnSecker So it is possible to tool around solo. Will check it out :-) And there will be no human players griefing you? You can pick PvE servers where no human can attack you?
@@CyberSystemOverload Sort of. The is only one live instance of Eve, so everyone is playing in the same universe - that's a feature I really like. But the universe is made up of thousands of solar systems, with different levels of security. In High Security systems, if someone attacks you the law (Concord) will quickly arrive and destroy their ships, so you will only get grief if you have some spectacularly valuable cargo (which as a newbie you will not have). In Low Sec law enforcement is less stringent, and you will be at more risk. And in Null Sec there is no law at all, and you must survive or die. So by sticking to the higher security systems you are pretty much guaranteed no PVP attacks - though of course the rewards are much greater if you are prepared to enter the riskier areas.
Hopefully this will help me get back into EVE Online after a 10 year hiatus.

Loving the vid, one thing i would add is train skills in levels, so 1, 1, 1, 2,2,2,2,3,3,3,3 depending on what level you need for next skill. reason being is lvl1 is fast to learn so gives you a nice boost across the board for little time, instead of waiting a long time for a single skill to finish before moving on. also traingin to level 3 is also pretty quick comapred to lvl 4 and 5's, so getting several skills to 3 oculd be a better option to get one skill to 4.
The fact they went so logical with the ammo usage blows my mind

The learning curve of this game is insane and the game itself felts like a second job...
I tried this game a few years ago and it's the most beautiful game I've ever seen.
Unfortunately for me, it was so complicated I don't think I lasted longer than 3 hours. I'm going to watch your entire tutorial series, and start again.

I downloaded. I got my ship. A really cool GM greeted me and gave me a new ship. I went to the skill points section and just started adding points. Then I realized it will take 25 days to complete to level 4, and I got super lost. Then I got a message from some random person in Noob chat who told me not to fly the ship I was given by the GM because I can't afford to lose it. My friend who plays bought me a Sub, said it would help.
I logged in again to claim my daily rewards. I modified the look of my character. It has been 16 days and I have not left the hanger bay of the starting area. Because I can't afford to lose what I can't buy back. So....that is my Eve Story.
Acutally. since I did it wrong, it will take 142 days to level something.

Unfortunately it's usually not possible but I think it may be possible if you contact ccp support, say the link is for character "Okiros"

The reason why you hear that so much if that most people are NOT content being second class citizens in a largely PvP system.
yes, your first few seconds describe why i havent gotten into eve in many many years, despite it always being on my radar. looks very complicated and due to being able to pay, you can/will lose lots of time spent playing because you die to long time players or paying players.

Then made a separate account using your link. But I don't see the extra skill point package you mentioned. Is there a way to see what account I'm signed in to? Having a hard time finding an account manager.

To see which account used the link in your redeem queue (bottom left) you can see 1000 000 skillpoints. You can always ask the eve support if you have more problems support.eveonline.com/hc/en-us
