Mining in Eve while watching videos about mining in Eve.
And making spreadsheets for mining
Mining is my personal favorite thing to do in Eve Online mostly bc I play Eve as a game to relax and take it easy on and mining is usually so peaceful and relaxing and I just love doing it
I've played Eve on and off for fifteen years, mining is almost all I've done in that time. I have been adventurous and done some low-level exploration - but mining most of that time. So chilled.
I started playing Eve Online a couple of days ago without even knowing you. While looking for ways to profit I came across your Solo Mining series and have been following it and doing the exact same thing. You made me fall in love with this game. I was more than happy to use your recruitment link to get to use your Venture loadout. Thank you for helping out a noob.
A cool thing to try is Pochven mining solo. Great isk. Just pay attention to d scan.
UA-cam has been pestering me to watch your Solo Mining series for almost a year now and I am glad I finally gave it a look. Going to binge watch the rest of your episodes now!
I realize this video is 10 months old, but even as a very new player like three days old. I was doing wormhole mining in my venture. I absolutely love the venture it is my workhorse for warm home mining. My fit with mining laser one's and two mining drones gives me a low risk high reward on a very cheap fit.. coming back selling or at the low end of 500 isk to one piece of ore. That gives me 2.5 million per load with my venture , of course this is on the low end. Some loads are worth much. I actually like what I call exploration mining , doing wormhole mining more than relic can data hunting.. of course, as I skilled up I moved to laser twos.
I realize a lot of people watching this video think wow mining is really boring , I promise you it's not when you go off and you start doing wormhole mining. In that instance, you're mining a valuable product and wearing off the v off your keyboard refreshing your d-scan because the ever-present danger of someone warping in on you. It's actually very exciting and leaves you with a really good feeling when you get out safely and put your stuff on market..
I'm basically on day 1 or 2 and learning how to get into mining, thanks for this
I remember when each of the 4 "races" had their own frigate and cruiser that was dedicated towards mining bonuses...
Oh man. Memory unlocked. I remember flying a Tristan for forever until finally upgrading to an Imicus. I was Caldari, but fell in love w Gallente ships because of drones!
Pepperage farm remembers.
Osprey was a mining beast.
yeah. first time I played as Amarr ... so Tormentor? was the "racial mining frigate"
.. and there was no Ore Hold on the. barges. what you fit determined what size your ore hold was and how much defense you had
@@DoAGoldeneye I remember when Zefram Cochrane invented the warp drive.
All right. I have a dedicated alpha mining char, so I'm going to follow your progression in this series and apply what I can to see how well I do. I can't play all that often, so it's going to take longer but that's cool. Thanks for doing this. Subscribed.
Started a few days ago like many other commenters. I completed all the career agents and decided mining was the way to go at least while I watch all these videos and series lol
I’m gonna stay alpha for a bit, not completely sold on the game to warrant paying for omega but I am intrigued for sure.
I spent my million skill points maxing all the career agent skill plans and a few skills recommended by my corp.
Probably gonna prioritize mining skills so I can work towards omega. Thanks for the videos! Subscribed
i wish they would make a larger ship built for solo miners, seeing an orca and then finding out its worse than a venture in terms of yield is really disheartening :(
I use to use the Orca and Mining Drones and sit on a Toon for hours and afk-ish farm Ores.
CCP hates we AFK and wants more clicks.
Intended purpose > what we really use them for.
Orca is definitely not worse than the Venture, but, it also isn't a ninja miner, so not really comparable.
@@Izawwlgood in terms of isk, it is. in order for your drones to not be total garbage, you not only need the augmented ones, but also you must have an industrial core II active, which eats through heavy water.
@@Dragonfyre. in terms of its use, it makes sense that its not Massively better... its a command ship, its primary use is for boosting fleets and providing higher yields to those around them, along with on site compression and storage.
its purpose was never to be a solo miner, Of course you CAN solo mine with it but you cant really be disheartened because you're now using it for something it was never designed to do.
I spent many hours mining in EVE. I don't play anymore, but it is nice seeing some one post mining videos.
Thanks for this, been debating between Albion and Eve as I like mining in both. This series coming out has inspired me to take the challenge along with you. Looking forward to it.

Oreshatter_Mining would be a very nice corp name in EvE you should get on that if its not taken already!
Ill join your corp if you do.
Hey fwiw, I like gathering in both Albion and EVE. They both do it well in different ways.
@@Izawwlgood duel me cape & weapon only 1mil
@JAKEL33T Thank you for this series and for the playlist!!! I love both!!
With T2 miners and a couple drones, you'll make ISK faster by getting the Plagioclase. Rich Plag is the way to go, followed by Azure. Sure, you need to get a hauler but, if there's a station nearby where you can compress, you can carry quite a haul. One of my kids is in The Citadel mining Rich; a full Nereus uncompressed can bring in about 6 million ISK. Just mine to your heart's content, then transport to Jita. Dang, I love mining.
@@goldeneagle256 I'm happy for your bounty! Don't forget to thank your diplomats and the Alliance. We each mine where our risk-aversion allows. You like null, good for you you're in null! Not knocking you down, bud, just reminding you each of us plays where we dare. Now that there's a number of regions available thanks to the Alliances' negotiation, perhaps I'll go and beat you at pulling merc! Cheers!
Solo Mining is LIFE AND LOVE do it daily and getting that ISK for Omega
I just started playing this weekend, love the vid. Helped me know I'm goin the right way!
Im drunk rn nacked my escrotus sticked to the sofa starting s new char and i hope i neve find this comm but i dibt know how to plex my acc inhsve 3 omega acc and stull cant plex im a disadter. I love everyone i love this game and youre the best community ever. Everyone is helping.
I use mining to make my own equipment for the most part. Ammo, ships, crystals, etc. But most of the time, I use the mineral to make larger ships; however, anything I m missing, I will buy just enough for what I need unless I see a below average price. I mean way below if I get lucky.
Thanks for your videos, watching your series got me to take the plunge. thing I don't hear people mention is mining on security missions. I have found rarer ores in my lvl 4 missions and now have my mining alts mining missions I use as a throwaway.
really looking forward to this serie, great idear great first video in the serie
1st time player here I can't wait to get through tutorial and start exploring while financing my journey mining along the way .
I just started today and luckily i started next to a wormhole that led to a rare ore astroid cluster. Been farming isogen and selling for a couple million a pop :)
Just started and going to follow along with the series :) !!!
Cool series, subbed.
Awesome, thanks for this series, starting to follow along today!
When you reprocess dense veldsapar you get more titanium than from normal veldsapar, so it is more valueable
With T2 miners you will want to target rocks larger than capacity due to waste. I think it's 34% for T2 miners, so on average you will be burning through 1.34x volume of ore.
very pumped for mining and this series
Super stocked! I'm excited to see how it's going.
Its is exciting starting a new project in Eve :D
This looks very relaxing tbh
I mined a lot in 2011, and was always working to PLEX my account, but boy the amount of work to reach that monthly goal is insane.
Nowadays my dilemma is: if I just pay the subscription I don't have to do that long work, but at the same time, if I do not need to make ISK for paying my account, my fun in the game is almost gone. Mining in a Venture to get to Omega is too punishing I would say. But I will follow your journey to learn ways I did not know before.
plex prices have also increased a lot, so it's even harder. Also mining solo is the worst way to make isk if your goal is going for plex using purely ingame currency. Better off doing abyss runs up to T3 or WH exploration.
@@goldeneagle256 I ran 3 accounts for about 5 years and now kept one of them active. I trade, mine, run lvl 4 missions (this is my main activity), explore but not pvp, never did it. It is darn hard for me to make the required ISK so I have to use real money. Good to know you're doing better.
love it! looking forward to the series
High Sec Mining in something like an AFK Orca is a good way to get that Titanium we all need. But for profit? No... And Ventures are never good for mining. Find gas to huff!
But if you need those rocks, and getting them for profit, Low Sec is where its at. Just watch out for the Pirates!
Idc what ccp says I still use my orca to afk mine in hi sec lately I have been moving away from the meta / min max mentality and started to change my brain to actually enjoy having fun!
Thanks, mining buddy!
i love this series!
i am going to start eve and also wanna do mining as a chill second monitor thing while playing csgo or wow or so.
Is there an up2date mining starter guide you can recommend? So not very in deep, just how to start, where to mine, when to upgrade, what to skill etc. and up2date?
When you start mining and orbiting the rock: don't orbit, never usefull. Instead do like this for efficiency: Close in on the rock you're mining, pick a 2nd rock that is well within double max mining distance and start moving right inbetween those 2 rocks. Now you can immediately target it and either switch to it when the first rock depletes or put one of each lasers on each rock, slowing the rate of depleting the rocks. If one depletes, rinse repeat. You'll always be aiming for the (slightly) higher raw ore value rocks and thus make more ISK. The more lucrative the ore, the better this way is. Once you go omega and you're not flying in a dinky venture, i cannot give advice. I'm still just an alpha closing in on 3m skillpoints or so.
Orbit never useful .. oh dear. You orbit to have speed to warp away faster when the party people arrive ...
@@anthonyvans3049 better is to allign to your safe preselected destination or you might first need to slow down, turn 180 and then speed up for warp, which takes way longer
I love mining! and salvaging in any game!
I've always wondered, if you get Omega and level up skills, would you lose or not be able to use the skills gained while in Omega if you reverted back to Alpha?
Love it yesssss show us miners some love !
Used to play Eve, after the DX10 upgrade lost interest due to being blocked from my account on my laptop :(
Kinda happy I got my life back though :)
Very good video and the explanations are clear and precise
I've mined in a Badger with extra storage in some really sketchy areas. Rolled armor and shield boosters lol
Miners don't die!
I spent like a year and a half trying to drag a new player though the beginning steep learning curve and it was a nightmare. I bought so many ships and modules and skillbooks that was never actually able to be deployed like I had hoped. Probably billions spent of isk that went straight down the drain. Lol.
Is storing ore in Jita the best place on the map. I’m am very new and have been following detail for detail what your doing 😊
do you plan to use compression to up the prices of the mining.. ? turn that 400 to 700 ish isk
I’ve just returned to eve, but the last time I played suicide gankers were targeting miners in high sec. Is mining still worth it?
The gankers were around about 5 years ago
Thank you for this content.
hi I am jsut getting in to eve and the mining looks good and relaxing to do in eve. You make the game look so easy to play and give out so much infomation you have but i cant download and install the game from the website:( antivasst is stoping it did it happen to any of youes
It's not letting me put two mining turrets on the venture. How did you get to do that?
Time to start lets see how many days it takes me to watch all 50+ episodes
Where is the getting started part? I started to play one hour ago. I don't understand a thing u saying. Drones? LOL
the learning curve, yeah, I don't have the time. and it give me a headache. Staying with Stat Citizen thx.
.. you warped to a bookmark closer to the belt, didn't you? the default belt warp-in is some 20km from the asteroids. beginners should read about and set up an alternate set of warp bookmarks, keep temporary bookmarks of juicy rocks in a belt .. Dense Veldspar, Massive Scordite, other high yield ores. bookmark wrecks to bring out a salvaging ship, loot them if they're NPC you killed. or fit a Salvager in the Venture's 3d high slot. you can also make a docking bookmark _( if you are using an NPC station as your base )_
.. there is a lot of travel time for mining drones, even at 5km .. cuts the efficiency
.. the Guassian Scoped Mining Laser is a good early option for beginners for its increased range
.. and I never orbit rocks while mining. you run the risk of bumping into other rocks. that's also why I never fitted an Afterburner. my pick for mid slots would be Survey Scanner, Shield Extender, and Multispectrum Shield Hardener. the Scanner lets you watch local rather than picking rocks from the Mining tab in the Overview.
This is a great video at starting out, learned a few new things from it.
Though, would it be worth it to add three Mining Upgrades? You could add a Damage Control perhaps?
Also, you could swap out that Hardner and place an afterburner to move faster towards rocks?
You can definitely add the afterburner and drop a Medium Shield Extanders for an Explosive Hardner or "x" resistance rig.
I think it would provide you enough to combat the rats that warp on grid.
Your "Getting started" starts way to late in the process.
You have a ship i dont have, how about you tell me what ship to buy, how to buy it and how to set it up first?
Thanks Dude! Training for some mining again. What is your ingame name?
I have trouble with the idea of using a $200 Million isk ship that won't see a return on that money spent for like 100+ trips from empty to full in a Covetor or Retreiver mining Massive Scordite or something similar in highsec. Those ships will be lucky to make 20 trips back and forth before they're gone. If they're lucky. My experience so far anyways.
Thank you for this mahn, also why dont you include mining in low sec , well there is alittle bit of risk but also the reward is worthet.
I've found if I use safe spots to wiggle into 0.2 systems, I can mine vivid or radiant hemorphite & process it each time I go back to the 0.3 in system station. I then haul it in an Incursus. I got a simple fit for speed. Inertia Mod @ 1.01 Align time @ 2.9 Using 4 Cargo Hold II for 436 M3 of space. It works out to 4 hours per 24 mil and then a 6 min run for a good return on the processed ore. Are you getting above 24 mil for 4 hours 15 min. game time? 👍✌🖖🥃
yes with ease, ninja gas in WH, relics + data sites, moon ores. The lowest moon ore in a venture: 10mil per hour or so, which is the lowest income out here.
Risks in wh space: 600k venture for higher ores+ scanning out the gas and data sites, 2m imicus fit to raid the data/relic sites. I get ore while i scan the wh, most of the time i'm on gneiss.
@@AwoudeX I'm just a lowly alpha here, I bet you have a cloak.😊
@@marknthetrails7627 nope, can't have one as an alpha...
Mining does get boring fast but it's a great side activity for hours when you are on but your corp mates are mostly not yet, and u just wanna chill but also make some isk doing so.
Will you show a Rorqual in this series?
Probably not it is an solo so now alliance for help
Hi there. I appreciate you work for us- beginners especially. Would you recommend me a video that can guide me from very start for newbies how to start mining
Is it mining with a Hulk and an alt for hauling still a thing?
From what I'm seeing most would get a porpoise for compression then orca to negate need to haul
@@harumessu626 Hulk can do better than both.
I would get the hulk and get the alt into a porp or orca instead of hauling.
@@harumessu626 Why a porpoise? Does it have a large ore bay? (Sorry, last time I played, there was no such thing as a dedicated ore bay).
Porpoise has a mining bay and provides buffs to increase output of a hulk. Compression has been added as part of the industrial core w/ relevant compression module
My question is why are you suspect status, what are you trying to prove
Nothing, Partial Safety is on.
Project Discovery resets at 2400/0000 (midnight) game time.

@@JAKEL33T Thank you
Nice
why kinetic over multispec?
Spec for local rat damage.
Can someone please help me, i new to eve. What is the difference between Vedspar and dense veldspar. Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Dense veldspar when you reprocess gives you more material than normal veldspar, concentrated even more, so if you wanna sell reprocessed materials from ore you go for concentrated rocks
@@eduardolescu4693 Awesome thanks.
For a "getting started" you leave a lot unexplained.
There is no hell in chance you plex an account mining ORE / Veldspa using a venture in one month , you would have to be mining 12-14 hours a day 7 days a week while avoiding getting ganked, seriously don't torture Yourself doing that nonsense just pay the damn $15
Okay we're like three minutes into this and nothing's been said so far. Your trip ship traveled someplace. I have no idea where. it started shooting a laser at something .I have no idea what. Just like every other instruction video for gameplay There is no But put into the video about what you're gonna say. Before you hit the record button and it's just a bunch of stumbling just like every single weather video I watch no offense but my God have a game plan as to what you're gonna talk about and make it concise.
