This has to be the best tandoori chicken recipe I have seen on YT, all of the things are easy to follow, you demonstrate everything so clearly. I have cooked many of your dishes and everyone has been ace, thanks mate.
Andrew Flyer I have not ordered a BIR take-a-way during lockdown since finding Latif’s channel, the recipes are as you say, easy to follow and totally ace. I can’t wait to be able to host a curry evening for friends 🙏
@@mrguillemot Totally agree mate, last month I made Latif`s Onion Bhajees, took some to work for my lunch, mate asked to taste one cold, said it was better than take-a-way, full of spice and flavor. Your curry night will be a great, inspired by Latif, enjoy it.
Used this recipe (as near as I could get it) on Friday for some boned chicken thighs. Left them to marinade for nearly 24 hours, then cooked them on the barbeque. Absolutely awesome!
I made this yesterday and followed the recipe and instructions exactly! My god!!!! It was perfect! Thanks brother, i have tried for years to get it right!!!!!!
Chef Latif!!! I'm on the other side of the world from you, but I found you... I got all the ingredients (had to have them shipped) and I'm making this dish!!! Thanks so, so much for sharing your recipe!!! 🙌🏾
I just finished cooking and eating this. Boy, oh boy, ohhh boy - this truly is fantastic! I used all of the ingredients as listed here. The marinade itself, alone, is just out of this world. Truly amazing! Thank you, so very much!
Amazing fantastic mouthwatering,, latif is a kitchen genie ,, it’s good to have phone on hands free when your doing these recipes as you get exactly the same results,,, tandoori mix is good with prawns and lamb prawns only need 3/5 mins either side , throw a Bangladeshi salad together. That’s in another video ,! Brill , and you got urself a meal ,, obviously a naan bread too ,, I like Keema garlic dhannia , coriander to us naan ,, the best meal ever ,, mango lassi and mint tea ,,, heaven
We tried this recipe, exactly as specified in the video, at home and I can’t tell you how absolutely delicious it was! The chicken was still moist inside and had a lovely char on the outside. Gorgeous meal and so worth the effort. It is the best chicken meal we’ve had in a long time; so much so we’ve subscribed and will try more of your recipes. Thank you so much!
I once was in Rome, Italy and was starving to death. We decided to get into the 1st restaurant we see and it was an (maybe) Indian. I just never forget the chicken we had there. Very similar to this one. Phenomenal! The Indian food is just amazing.
Thank you so much, Latif! We’re doing this for my birthday tomorrow.. hi from a Brit living in Southern Oregon. We got the Coleman’s mustard! God Bless You, & Cheers!
This looks really good i tried your previous tandoori recipe on your channel. I would recommend doing the smoke technique for that extra tandoor/bbq flavour makes a huge difference. - Smoke technique - Heat up 1 charcoal on the cooker until it turns almost white. Get a small metal pot or foil and put the coal on it. Place this in the middle of all the cooked chicken. Add bit of oil or ghee on the coal to start it smoking. Cover everything with some kind of lid ensuring the smoke dont escape. Let the chicken smoke for few minutes and you are done.
Today, I’ve used this recipe to marinade my chicken overnight. I’m going to use this chicken for a tikka bhuna curry tomorrow. It smells absolutely amazing... Latif your a legend!
Now this it what I’m talking about 🔥🔥🔥✊🏾✊🏾 non of this easy to make recipe I want to see more of these types restaurant style food recipe 😋😋😋 looking forward to tryin this 😎
Made this for dinner tonight, hands down the best Tandoori Marinade recipe. I let the chicken marinate in the fridge for 24 hours, almost couldn’t wait.
Thanks for keeping these videos up during the lockdown Latif, I'll definitely be trying this at home, I always smash this in restaurants, so it'll be awesome to make the same myself!
Thank you Latif! We don’t like Coleman’s mustard, so swapped it for a 1 tsp of onion powder, all other ingredients as-is. Used our dual-zone airfryer, cooked mine to be slightly charred and my wife’s not so, and WOW, I recreated the BIR flavour!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
3rd time making this dish. Waiting 24 hours for the marinade to do its thing is torture. The result is Absolutely magic. Easily the best channel on here.
I made this today (marinated 24hrs) and followed the ingredients list as much as possible but substituted Colemans mustard for Keens Hot Mustard since I couldn't find Colemans in Canada. I found this recipe to be excellent with the right flavour profile and with such a promising list of ingredients, it certainly looked authentic. After eating the spoils, my feeling is that this marinade is low on salt and could easily be doubled. A lot would likely have to do with what type of salt you use and I used fine ground pink himalayan salt (Redmond Real Salt) vs table salt. If one were to dry brine their chicken for a few hours before marinating, this would likely solve the issue. I used 2tsp of chilli powder as suggested but I think 3 or 4 is likely better but 2 is likely typical of what you'd taste in restaurants. While the flavour profile is excellent, to me it lacked the punch you in your face intensity I was expecting. Would be curious what I need to change to amp the intensity a few notches? I cooked the chicken on a Weber charcoal kettle at 425deg indirect and then finished/charred the chicken directly over the coals at the end... the same way I do most chicken pieces on the kettle and they turn out juicy and awesome. I'd probably suggest NOT to use chicken breast for this recipe unless you pound them out thin or cut them up into cubes and skewer them. Marinades don't penetrate more than 1/8" into the meat and no restaurant I've been to ever serves a full breast anyway - it's always tikka style. Full breast is somewhat bland on the inside due to the thickness. I made and used the ghee mixture and the sizzle platter presentation (good god those onions turn out awesome! I was not expecting that!!). Everything you've shown here is top notch and I look forward to tinkering with this recipe in the future. Those of you curious about the history and market positioning of mustard oil for 'external use' only, google "Dr. Axe mustard oil" and read his most excellent summary on the topic. Thanks for sharing this recipe with the world.
This looks amazing and very well explained. The sizzle on the cast iron sounds too good. Thanks for all your amazing hard work to bring these easy to follow and delicious recipes to us to try at home.
I've only just recently discovered your channel and I'm loving it! Thank you for these great recipes! The only difficulty with this one is that many of us don't have double ovens to switch that seared chicken into right away. Maybe I'll pre-heat it and then switch it to the broiler. Then it will take less time to come back up to temp. Suggestions? This would also make a great BBQ recipe; use direct heat on half to sear and move to indirect side to finish.
Omg, I just discovered you. You are great!!! Your love for food and it's connection to people really comes through. This one I'm gonna try, your other videos are insightful and just great. Thank you.
Hi Latif. I'm a big fan of tandoori chicken. Ever since I was a kid. I remember when my dad use to take me to the local Indian restaurant with my brothers and Mum, and that was a dish we loved to eat. I have made it a few times at home using recipes from books and cooked it on the BBQ, but next time, I will definitely give your recipe a go. Nice informative video. Thanks for the Patak's sauce tips, and thanks for sharing, .👍👌
