Finally got my Draco today. Took fedex 3 trips to get it to me. Can’t wait to get it together and set up with my new nx8. Don’t listen to UA-cam, your videos are great and never to long. Keep up the great work!!!!!!!
To be clear, this comment is not intended to denigrate anyone. The object is to compare good to GREAT and laud the greatness. I watched this build and the HH official build. No comparison. This build is easier to follow, has better camera angles, has more good information and is just plain entertaining; both the humans and felines! Brian, you made a side comment about UA-cam suggesting you cut your video time. PLEASE DON’T. Yes, your unbox and build is long, but I love the detail and the entertainment. No, I did not watch the entire video at once. I broke it up over three sittings (which I’m pretty sure resulted in more advertisement) just cause that worked for me, not cause I got bored. Also did some rewind. Besides the additional detail and entertainment, I have to applaud the camera work! In the HH video they used two fixed angles and those just did not get in close or even in the right position to see what was being assembled. All in all, whether its a flight where the aircraft remains astoundingly centered during the entire filming, or a build where the camera gets just the right angle and zoom, your ‘camera partner’ is absolutely the most talented of any. Her work is much appreciated. My Draco is still on back order and probably won’t arrive until after you do your ‘second thoughts’ video. I’ll be back, watching and following along again, all 2.5 hours, when I get mine. Great work. Thanks so much.

WHEW! I made it through all 2:30 hours. CRAZY cool airplane! I don't see it in my stable any time soon, but I do see it happening eventually. Horizon continues to raise the bar on scale detail with planes like Draco and the new Focke Wulf. I continue to be amazed. The only thing I would change aesthetically on Draco is to try to clear coat it with a high gloss, which would be more representative of the real plane. I've been a subscriber to Mike Patey's channel for a couple of years now. When I started flying RC about a year ago, Draco was the one plane I wished someone in our hobby would develop. Hats off to Horizon Hobby for doing an outstanding job of that. As always, thanks much for sharing. BTW - the flight video was great. Steve
GOLD START for you stuff!!!!!!!!!!! HH is doing a great job, but they DO need to make some of these in the 1.2m scale and sell the CRAP out of them... so many are afraid of the price, but this plane is a good value. Likewise for me, having watched Mike Patey for a long time too - he is the REAL deal!
YOU can clear it! Minwax hi gloss spray paint. $10 a can at lowes. Usually 3 LIGHT coats. BUT, if u add anything, (i put my ama number on everything i own), do it FIRST b4 clear coating! 👍
Bought the DRACO 2.0 weeks ago, watched all your videos on the monster red dragon, read the book a few times. Downloaded the setup file which was up to date, then rechecked everything again, and Re-watched your videos again, when I went to fly it today, it felt like I've been flying it for weeks, maiden flight went perfect four flights today! Thanks for all you do! Most certainly didn't want to crash today, 🤪 .......⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Success 😊🛩️
In anticipation of getting my Draco, I watched a lot of build videos. Yours is by far superior. I was having trouble getting lights, reverse and SAFE all assigned to the right switches. You solved that for me. Thanks!
As a professional helicopter captain flying off ships all over the world I came across your channel several weeks ago. Your approach to communicating with your fans is spot on! First of all you remind my wife and I of Jack Black so major points there. LOL You speak to the general population and not just the pros out there which helps everyone in this super cool hobby. I'm waiting for my DRACO Ultimate to arrive to my LHS possibly this week so watching this unboxing is super helpful but makes me super jealous. Do you have a local charity for subscribers to support? Keep up the fantastic Husband/Wife productions your wing woman is essential to your success!!
Jay - Thanks for the very kind words, and the feeling you're having waiting for the Draco is palpable, and I don't envy it at all ;) I hope you can get one very soon! As for my wing-woman, you're exactly right about her, she is absolutely essential to our channel's success!!! If you're looking for a way (or ways) to support us, and our channel, here's the most common... 1) Watch the content 2) Like the videos and Share on your social media, if you wish 3) Subscribe and click the bell for notifications 4) Buy from the links in the video description, but also peppered into the comments too. If you're already buying something, you don't have to spend any extra, and we'll get a "pat on the back" from the MFG, or Distributor for your purchase. This really helps us to build clout with said MFG's and Distributors, but we tell them we'll be honest to You, our REAL bosses, and they agree. This is HOW we can afford to review so much, and why my wife tolerates the time commitment demanded for our UA-cam experience. Keep in mind, she is not an RC or Aviation enthusiast, she's just very supportive of me, and my pursuits. I'm a lucky guy! ...but if you were asking where we point others to contribute to a charity that we believe in...If this was what you meant, I could elaborate more, but we don't really like to push our personal charity choices onto others. Charity is a highly personal activity in our lives, and we don't expect others to share in it at all. We do and have supported organizations in the past, but we feel it somewhat faux pax to ask others to do so. Not sure if this was even what you were asking, but if so, hopefully this answers your question. Thanks for being a part of our channel. We're so glad you found it!
Used your links to purchase my Draco and a Smart 6s 5000mah 50C. I’ve just got her out of the box and I can’t stop staring at her. She is so beautiful. I’m so impatient for Saturday when I plan to maiden her. Thanks for your feedback as always.
Oh boy!!!!! She is a looker, isn't she!?!?! Even though we try, hard to really show the amazing level of detail for an ACTUAL flying model! Can't wait to get one like this in an F-14 ;)
I AM SOOOO EXCITED just started to watch the unboxing, 25 minutes in on the short video and just received a notice from HH that my Draco has just been shipped. Now back to the video.
When I first saw the Draco I didn’t understand the hype but it’s been growing on me. I’ve only been flying for 2 months but I have logged a ton of hours in that short time period. I have mastered the Cub S, and have just begun flying my T-28 Trojan. I have too say and it’s probably because I’m more comfortable with the Cub but I prefer the cub style plane. I haven’t given up on the Trojan by any means but I think I prefer the slow scale flying, not so much the race car. I’ve bought all my planes through your links because I want you to be successful since I love your videos. I used to just follow the book during programming but I now understand what I’m doing due to your training, so thank you a million for that. I’ll be buying one of these very shortly so keep an eye out for your commission check! Keep making awesome videos and thanks to camera crew as well. All the best Brian!
Thanks Matt! Glad you're getting it, and now you can skip that part of our "training" - keep at it. I'm now a few month's behind on comments, as I can see you've waited for 2 months on this reply - sorry about that, and I did see a couple others of yours today ;) Have you got the Draco yet??? Very good plane, but heavy, and a whole different beast than the Carbon Cub 1.3 S2 ...demands some respect, as she will crash a break easy...but if you fly her right, she'll put out anytime you want it. Love the Draco!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Yes I did buy one. It flies heavy in my opinion but I also don’t horse it around as much as I do my other planes, it intimidates me because of the cost involved with crashing. I kind of wish I would have went with the Carbon Z Cub as I feel like it would fly more my style but I do like the Draco. My current favorite plane to fly is my Pitts 1400. I know you don’t always read follow up comments but if you happen to read this one, change the propeller on your Pitts 1400 to a 16x8. I got that tip from AV8R’s channel and it transforms that plane. Stock I loved the look but thought the performance was lacking, with the simple propeller change it now has the looks and the performance. Try it you’ll love it, and do a third thoughts video with it. Anyway I’m a bit off topic but thanks again for everything Brian and family! Love your videos keep it up!
Do you ever answer tech questions? I can’t ever get a hold of horizon! You are what got me back into this crazy hobby and I love all your videos! Keep them coming.
Hey BP, I like the way you walk us through each detailed step. Good job on the assembly, and thanks to the talented camera crew. You guys remind me of a surgeon and an assistant nurse operating on the Draco. LOL.
Back in the larger than park scale models after 20 years of biz travel and raising kids. Going to set up the Draco with a new Nx8 this weekend after joining Arvada Associated Modelers club. Great video, and great support you are to this awesome hobby. ✌️
Thank you, watched your unbox and build, this plane is a step up for Eflite! Great hint about not hooking up the elevator until after binding. Also helped by watching you on the tail wheel setup!
I have purchased planes through your channel because of the great work you do, Awesome pilot and I learn so much from the builds. Please keep it coming, Maybe a short video to help others become a better pilot. All the best to you and the "camera crew"
Thanks Phillip! We try to incorporate these items into our videos, and will keep trying to pepper this stuff in, but doing a specific "how to fly" video, would need to be a whole series. I'll think about how we can incorporate more of this in our upcoming videos!
Wow what intense build step by step with you and went great. Like the way u build and explain what u are doing. Just got the draco on 9 16 22 can't wait to fly it thanks Mr Phillips.....
I agree about the "not supportive at all" - washers are SOOOOOOO cheap, so I've always wondered why companies leave them out...maybe it's a weight thing, or the extra $0.02 per plane??? I don't get it.
Just a 2:37min feature film, this plane deserves better!!! LOL, OK, time to get breakfast made and coffee brewed, sit down at the table and enjoy the Brian and Camera Person (Megan) show!!!!!
This unboxing was epic and very informative like always. You totally demolished that packaging 😂🤣never seen that reaction for a unboxing. Thanks for the information, I’ll be tossing and turning even more now until mines arrives Friday.
Thanks, will do! We're so glad you watched, and hope you get the Draco. It is just as good or better than they said, and they said even more than me!!! Draco 2.0m bit.ly/3ttx3ix You know you want one ;)
2:02:38 Hey @BrianPhillipsRC when going into system setup and disconnecting RF and simulating brown out(fail safe) is it normal for aeileron's to change state and put plane into left bank. I've noticed mine does as yours did in video. Btw thank you and camera crew for the in depth unbox/setup video..
I traded for my draco Saturday (11/27/2021). After seeing how the bnf was setup, UNlike im used to, i set it up my way. Which closely resembles Brian's way! I want my safe/as3x on switch A!
Watched your video before picking up the same setup today has you have. Your video made setup easy as I have been out of the ho by for a couple years. Appreciate it and keep up the great videos. 🍻
Glad it helped - This plane is simply amazing! It's super pricey but when you get your eyes on the detail, then watch her perform...you forget quickly how much she cost.
I watched the whole episode.... excellent & you explained it sooo well. A lot are saying that we need to look at the latest digital manual & not the old printed one. The flap settings on my Dx9 applied the 2s speed with one change. Loved the flights Getting cooler here ( Autumn/Fall) took the old Apprentice to the beach yesterday for some great flights Keep safe & well family
Mi hermano, genial el video. Como siempre todo lo que publicas es excelente y de mucha ayuda. Gracias. My brother, great the video. As always, everything you post is excellent and very helpful. Thanks.
It really is! You heli guys are spoiled in that you can basically have a plastic model around the guts of RC helis, which is AWESOME, but planes get too heavy ;( - This plane is the answer to this issue...even though it's heavy at 10 lbs, it flies light on it's feet in the air.
Thanks for sharing. It's just one of those things that everyone knows in RC, but a very small minority of Full Scale pilots understand...usually only AFTER trying it will they understand what I said. P.S. I want to fly Full scale, but still holding off for a variety of reasons...some reasons will start to disappear in the next couple to three years, if the UA-cam thing keeps on track ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC yes they’re. I honestly enjoy rc planes a little better than full scale. It’s more of a challenge, and not to mention, wayyyyy cheaper lol. Keep the hard work. We all like your videos! Don’t let the dream fade away!
Happy Day / Sad Day Bought a used Draco and word to the wise. Be extremely careful not to hit the “reverse switch” when you mean to flip the “flaps up” switch.🤦♂️ GLUE TIME! Flew great while it was flying. Can imagine the pain Mike felt. Hurts to crash a model not to mention the real thing. Fly it Break it, Fix it , REPEAT!🤜🤛
Hi Great video, just received my Draco and having problems getting all the lights working, any chance you could post a vid of how the lighting board is wired up?
I didn't wire them up. You can assign a channel. I cover this in the video. The Radio Setup part, you'll see when I get in there, I set it to the KNOB.
I found out for the tail wing installation, install the springs first and then attached the wheel with the screws. Way easier!! No spring hassle at all!
You mean, on the 2.3m Fox? It was the first time I did that one...but this was a super easy setup. Plug and Fly planes are a bit more involved, but with the new Forward Programming, it's SOOOOOOOOO much easier than it had been. I promise to cover it more, if you keep watching ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC yes, that was the plane I meant. I want to set up crow on the FMS17 and don’t yet feel confident to do so. Will keep watching and maybe you will show me how again? Thanks. PS I begin to feel I know your yard very well! Still have trouble figuring how far away the tree line is on the right though.
By the way. Your a great pilot! Also great videos on any thing you demonstrate! Just got my Draco and will be putting it together soon! Keep up the good work!!!
I'm 30 years old and I had dare when I was in school I believe it was wheni was in the 4th 5th and 6th grade maybe even the 7th grade but it was an amazing program for kids to help keep them out of trouble
So glad we got this one - it is amazing! Sorry for the slow reply Seth B - I'm JUST now (10:35 PM on 4/26/2021) getting to the first comments form the Draco release!!! This has been a long week, and we have another early release we're fighting to get done for you all ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC nice can’t wait!!! Lol and no big deal I’m glad that you interact with the people who comment on your videos not many creators do that’s why you’re one of my favorite.
Great build guide Brian what a great model however that model to buy here in Tasmania is $1,100 delivered to my door keep up the good work you and the camera lady does cheers Bill
Brian I have recently found your channel as I've been out of the hobby for the last 15 years and I'm starting over. I lost my son in a car accident and so I have turned back to the hobby to escape reality from time to time. Anyway I must say of all your videos I've watched I laughed my ass off 🤣 you are like a jack black stunt double lol. My son and I use to be excited like that to build and fly new planes. Good job .hope our paths cross at a fly inn somewhere. Peace ✌
I'm so sorry to hear about your son. That being said, I have to assume he'd love to see you living it up every day! Getting back into the sport you guys shared is an excellent way to honor his memory. I'm so glad you're using this hobby as an outlet, and totally agree about "escaping reality" for a little bit. Sounds like we're going to be playing a bigger part in your life as you get back at it! So glad you're with us, and hope you read my comment, understanding where I'm coming from. These matters, are bigger than a fun hobby, but you know what I mean, I suspect... I want to yell - get out and live out what your son couldn't, but you already beat me to the chase. I hope I never have to copy what you've gone through, and don't mean to bemoan what you're trying to escape, but you make such a compelling argument for others that will eventually stumble on to this thread of comments. Thanks for being here with us!
@@BrianPhillipsRC thank you. Not sure what part of the country you are in but if ypu get down south of Atlanta (way south) let me know and we can take a couple of planes out for a rip. Peace ✌
Watched this whole video last night and went out and got mine this morning. I don’t even have a transmitter yet! This is entirely your fault! Okay I was going to get one anyway and did find an incredible deal. They’re like $629 right now if you can even find one. I got mine for $477! Anyways awesome video as usual.
Good job Brian and your better half the Camera Crew! The weights on the ailerons, and slates on the elevator are to help reduce the the strength the pilot needs to move the control surfaces. The plane does not have hydraulic control surfaces. That is the full scale I am referring to.
Thanks steffanan! If you like the home, check out the NEW HOUSE BUILD SERIES Playlist. You can see the whole process from start to finish. We filmed highlights of the process. It's pretty in depth, but some people will think we left out WAY too much ;) Hopefully you'll get a kick out of watching us work so hard to tame this beautiful property. Also, we're still working toward that end, and it's been a TON of work, which we're trying to share too, but it isn't near as popular as the RC stuff, not surprisingly, but we're very proud of the good outcome we've gotten from our hard work, and love when people are interested. Great content really appreciate your channel. QUESTION- THRUST REVERSE-Throttle MIXING-- What I have is an Aux1/Throt mix. When I press the I button I get immediate 50% reverse throttle so I don’t have to try to do reverse thrust and throttle on my own at landing. Release I and I have forward throttle with whatever I landed with. Which could be nothing or something. Problem is with this setup Aux1 is assigned to I with the mix always. This means I lose basic thrust reverse when backing out or with floats for example. My question is can I assign Aux1 to multiple switches? I tried that but when I did it messed up my mix and I didht accomplish my goal. Thoughts??!
Okay, sounds like you're real close - you don't want to make TWO CHANEL ASSIGNMENTS, you just make a MIX. This would be CHANNEL ASSIGN for say the "I" switch to AUX 1 (I assume you're using the I switch / Bind Switch, which is pretty popular way to do thrust revers, but not the way I do it generally)...then you'll build a MIX to make either another CHANNEL or a SWITCH do the same function. It sounds like you might have accidentally answered your own question, so I hope my wording isn't going to confuse you any more...but that's what you need to do. You're RIGHT there...just gotta run over the finish line ;) When you do make your MIX, just make sure you test it in a way to keep yourself safe. Thrust Reverse is one of those features that can and does get people HURT, don't be "that guy" ;) Once you're all set, should be no-problemo, but don't want to see you get chopped up - possibly pull the prop for this type of work. Good luck - you got this!
Brian its infectious, your excitement has me ready to rip my box open! My credit card got hit so I know for sure I made the first batch.. will probably ship in just a few hours, possibly flying by Saturday 🤩BB
SWEET! I think I was looking forward to your unbox/build the most, but man, not even 6 hours long lol! Great info though, will come in handy when mine gets here tomorrow! 😎
I have a customer that is a jet blue pilot. I showed him a pic of my AL37. He’s like, believe it or not, I tried it and crash all the time. True story.
Yes, exactly - I know pilots that can't fly RC, and RC pilots that can totally fly Full scale ;) A lot of Full Scale pilots fly RC because they did it FIRST ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC true that. I was really surprised to get the response he gave me. Dude can descend from 35k and hit a strip but can’t land a RC bird. Makes me want to buy a G
Hi Brian I have had a few flights on Draco so far and love the way it flies. Seen a few things online regards the servos being small for a heavy plane like this. Mine so far are ok but if I were to replace them for something stronger what would be a good choice please. I can't seem to find an online comparison between the a332 it uses (same as timber x) however someone said that they've used hitec hs65mg Any thoughts on this as I have had a flap servo fail on me once and resulted in a big crash. Cheers 👍
I wouldn't ever upgrade the Servos on this plane, but if you must, I'd just make sure the specs are BETTER, and then you need to be real careful not to overwhelm the current and voltage loading on the BEC. Good luck, but I'm not changing any servos on mine ;)
Been watching your video about the Draco build,. I got my Draco last night and made an error using 5 minute epoxy on my leading edge wing spoiler. Keeps on pulling off!!! I love your cats. We have 4 in-house cats here in Lakewood, Ca. yesterday. Hey Brian, is it okay to use the regular 6s lipo instead of those smart battery? I’ll make a battery adapter from IC5 to XT90. Do you think I can still have fail safe and safe mode?
SMART Battery use does not dictate if SAFE works. Use whatever pack you want, you'll be fine, but may lose some telemetry data. 5 Minute epoxy on the LE Slats? Why did they come off?
Sorry for my late reply Brian but I too is confuse and it’s weird. Probably the mixing. Anyway I pulled it, cleaned it and glued it again and it work this time. Brian, 3 of my light aren’t working, the light 2X closest to the wing root on each
wing and the rudder tip lights. Also, I found 2 unplug wires, one is a black & orange in one plug and a gray wire in another plug by itself. I remember you mentioned about this in your video but I couldn’t find that “ page” anymore. Must I use a Y harness and plug it into the circuit board?
Enjoy! Long 5 days ;) Well worth it!!! You could have the Radio setup and be flying in like 30 minutes, I bet - you'll be ripping up the box too - LOL!!!
Great video, just one suggestion, when marking your CG, members of my club have made a great idea, use map pins, they come on all different colours, and perfect for reference!
Yes, the NX6 will work, but I would very highly recommend the NX8....not just for this plane, but for many others. Reverse Thrust Light Control (on the fly - pun intended) HOWEVER, you don't have RETRACTS to worry about...so technically, I believe you can use 7th [partial] channel on the NX6 for Thrust Reverse...then rest would work. Please be super careful if you're not 100% sure on the Reverse Thrust, since that 7th channel kinda makes me nervous...since I've only used it maybe 20 or so models to turn SAFE on and off. If you're plopping down the cash, GET the NX8. If you're already setup with the NX6, it'll do ;)
Awesome video. I got pnp high wing trainer plane and a spectrum receiver AR630. What you did in the setup for this plane work for mine or one of your other videos would. So far the only plane I have flown is a micro cub with safe on it. Again great video these full length are so helpful compared to all the other sales pitch videos out there. 👍
If you want to copy an easier setup, maybe look at one of our more recent FMS plug and fly planes. we setup an AR630 in an FMS Fox 2.3m the other day, but we added CROW, which isn't necessary and might complicate things for you. Go back to the Fox 3m, and that will be SUPER similar for you...but we used an AR637T...BUT the forward programming is identical.
Tough call. While I believe you can bind the DXs to the Draco, you will want more refined control to make her fly the way it can fly... It's not a cheap plane, and I fear your experience may be greatly diminished if you do anything less than an NX6, but for only $40 (or so) more, you can get into an NX8, and basically fly almost any of the offerings... Some will tell you that the DX8 would be fine, but I want you to get the more time out of your investment, and HH is moving to the NX now, and I don't want you to loose support in the next few years....after all, these Tx'es are expensive, so might as well get a great one now and enjoy it fully! NX bit.ly/3mbVuNB ( I think you should get the NX8...if you're buying the Draco, this is what I suggest) DX bit.ly/2OwKprB

AWESOME Danny!!! So glad to hear it! This plane is excellent! Get ready for Christmas morning ;)
I just picked up my Draco. Dying to put it together tonight. Love the kittens. I miss my grey cat Buster. Thanks for sharing the video Brian.
Awesome Brent! So glad for you. This plane is really good; you won't be disappointed!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC
Yes I did buy one.
I was putting mine together today and now I watching you do it. Great review and instructions.
AWESOME! Thanks Josh!
"Definitely NOT the Draco"...haha! You had us fooled :)
LOL
Just got my Draco! Can’t wait to build and fly. Thank you and the camera crew for such a great instructional video..
You're welcome, and good luck!!! Awesome plane!
LOL.
Much appreciated! Thanks Jetman!
Back in the larger than park scale models after 20 years of biz travel and raising kids. Going to set up the Draco with a new Nx8 this weekend after joining Arvada Associated Modelers club. Great video, and great support you are to this awesome hobby. ✌️
Good for you Rob! It's so much fun, flying RC. I wish you nothing but the best of luck as you get back into the hobby!
Thank you, watched your unbox and build, this plane is a step up for Eflite! Great hint about not hooking up the elevator until after binding. Also helped by watching you on the tail wheel setup!
Nice! Glad we could help! Eflite did a wonderful job recreating this beauty for us to enjoy! I hope you get one for yourself!
Its here !!!!
Totally here and awesome!
Thanks for making me save so much time in setting it up after many years of not flying! ❤ Greetings from Italy!
You're welcome, and thank you for watching!
Absolute best review on set-up of the Draco, Brian as always you do the best, thanks man ! And thanks to such an awesome camera crew too !
It's our pleasure!
He’s gonna “get it up there” for us guys.
LOL - Very nice!!!
I was taken by surprise when you started ripping the box, had a pain in my chest. ✈️
Me too - I was doing it on accident at first, then it was like, - what the heck, nothing to loose now!!!
45:01 I installed washer there, did not feel right without, the screw is not supported all around.
You're welcome Randy!!! ;)
Awesome...the best Draco review....many many thanks for the review and build :)
Glad you liked it! We have some footage coming tomorrow ;) Hope you'll follow our link when you decide to pull the trigger.

Hi Bryan and camera crew. Putting my Draco together this AM following your video. Very helpful. Thanks and have a great day.
Glad it helped - Good luck - You'll LOVE it!
Great video, great job Brian and camera crew. What a beautiful aircraft. “Thank You Mike Patey” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Our pleasure! Thank YOU William! Glad you're here as one of our "regulars" ;)
This unboxing was epic and very informative like always. You totally demolished that packaging 😂🤣never seen that reaction for a unboxing. Thanks for the information, I’ll be tossing and turning even more now until mines arrives Friday.
It was getting REAL! I was legitimately having a really hard time opening it...but I wasn't about to let the BOX win - LOL ;)
Yeah it’s totally an “ Adorable “ looking beast 🐉
I like all of your clips, I am encouraged to keep doing them.
Thanks, and will do!
That was another great video thank you Brian And camera crew.
GREAT JOB KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK
Thanks, will do! We're so glad you watched, and hope you get the Draco. It is just as good or better than they said, and they said even more than me!!!

You know you want one ;)
2:02:38 Hey @BrianPhillipsRC when going into system setup and disconnecting RF and simulating brown out(fail safe) is it normal for aeileron's to change state and put plane into left bank. I've noticed mine does as yours did in video. Btw thank you and camera crew for the in depth unbox/setup video..
I traded for my draco Saturday (11/27/2021). After seeing how the bnf was setup, UNlike im used to, i set it up my way. Which closely resembles Brian's way! I want my safe/as3x on switch A!
Nice! Don't forget the Thrust Reverse - we've been doing it on SWITCH G now ;) You're gonna LOVE IT!
Gorgeous plane and awesome video pls never change your commentaries are so pertinent and fun 👍
Glad you like them!
Heck yes I’ve been waiting for this !
It is as good as they said!
When you setup the transmitter it would be great, all of us aremt that fast, plz
Just wonderful and as expected Brian & Co. Awaiting mine here in OZ
It is wonderful! I'm so glad to hear you'll be flying your very own!
I watched the whole episode.... excellent & you explained it sooo well.
A lot are saying that we need to look at the latest digital manual & not the old printed one. The flap settings on my Dx9 applied the 2s speed with one change.
Loved the flights
Getting cooler here ( Autumn/Fall) took the old Apprentice to the beach yesterday for some great flights
Keep safe & well family
what an amazing bit of kit great video sir and mamm
Thank you! It is a great plane!!! You should get one if you think it was nice...it is nicer than you realize in person, it's so beautiful!!

COOL!
Hi i have watched all the Draco clips and yours is by far the best and most informative well done
Thanks Lee!
Mi hermano, genial el video. Como siempre todo lo que publicas es excelente y de mucha ayuda. Gracias. My brother, great the video. As always, everything you post is excellent and very helpful. Thanks.
Thanks Angel! Glad you're here with us!!!
Awesomeness Brian. I'm a helicopter guy but wow the detail is incredible.
It really is! You heli guys are spoiled in that you can basically have a plastic model around the guts of RC helis, which is AWESOME, but planes get too heavy ;( - This plane is the answer to this issue...even though it's heavy at 10 lbs, it flies light on it's feet in the air.
@@BrianPhillipsRC yea my 700 weighs 14lbs but 12s makes it feel light as a feather .
It’s sweet!! Can’t wait for mine.
You're gonna love it Erin!
I fly a full scale Cessna 172 and RC planes. They’re different skills. That’s very true! Learned to fly rc the hard way haha!
Happy Day / Sad Day
Bought a used Draco and word to the wise.
Be extremely careful not to hit the “reverse switch” when you mean to flip the “flaps up” switch.🤦♂️
GLUE TIME!
Flew great while it was flying. Can imagine the pain Mike felt. Hurts to crash a model not to mention the real thing.
Fly it Break it, Fix it , REPEAT!🤜🤛
I have changed from "A" to the "G" switch to help reduce the risk of this possibility.
Sorry for your loss
Hi Great video, just received my Draco and having problems getting all the lights working, any chance you could post a vid of how the lighting board is wired up?
I didn't wire them up. You can assign a channel. I cover this in the video. The Radio Setup part, you'll see when I get in there, I set it to the KNOB.
I found out for the tail wing installation, install the springs first and then attached the wheel with the screws. Way easier!! No spring hassle at all!
Good idea!
Best explanation of settings yet. Wish the crow explanation on powered glider matched.
Thanks Joe, and good luck with you Draco! What a plane!!!

Okay, DARE was in our schools too, but I'm not sure where you're going with this Chris.

Thanks for making this video. I am disappointed in that some parts are not metal, and there is not a aerotow setup for it.
There is an option for aerotow.
Peace ✌
I love how you entertain us and your sense of Humor🥳😂
Thanks!
Awesome deal!!! When you're ready for your NX10 - bprc.me/Tx - Good luck!
sweet plane brian
It really is! I hope you'll get one for yourself! Draco bit.ly/3zi8URp
Good job Brian and your better half the Camera Crew! The weights on the ailerons, and slates on the elevator are to help reduce the the strength the pilot needs to move the control surfaces. The plane does not have hydraulic control surfaces. That is the full scale I am referring to.
Nice! Thanks for the info. I knew that about the ailerons, but didn't about the elevator - thanks! Always learning new stuff in RC / aviation!
@@BrianPhillipsRC me to! Greatest hobby in the world!
Ok, let’s get flying already!
Video is up now. Sorry if you picked the wrong one...this is the unbox, build, radio setup video.

You have a beautiful home, I love your white trim work around the doors, really well done! Oh yeah, the planes and reviews are pretty neat too!

QUESTION-
THRUST REVERSE-Throttle MIXING--
What I have is an Aux1/Throt mix.
You're RIGHT there...just gotta run over the finish line ;)
When you do make your MIX, just make sure you test it in a way to keep yourself safe. Thrust Reverse is one of those features that can and does get people HURT, don't be "that guy" ;) Once you're all set, should be no-problemo, but don't want to see you get chopped up - possibly pull the prop for this type of work.
Good luck - you got this!
You might want to verify your tire axle washers. i believe only one should be on the inside and two on the outside along with nut.
Sure. I'll look into it, since we'll be putting on Pneumatic tires soon, if all goes to plane.
Brian its infectious, your excitement has me ready to rip my box open! My credit card got hit so I know for sure I made the first batch.. will probably ship in just a few hours, possibly flying by Saturday 🤩BB

Hi Brian
I have had a few flights on Draco so far and love the way it flies.
@@BrianPhillipsRC ok that's a good point I didn't think of that. Cheers Brian I'll keep with the stock ones 🙂👍
Nice! Nice 👍👍👍
Totally!!!
Like Rocky Balboa on top the mountain screaming DRACOOOOOO. DRACCOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
LOL!!!
How do you get rid of the rudder mix. It really affects the ability to get a good clean roll.
You can mix the CONVERSE in a mix on the NX8. Super easy!
The horizontal stabilizer and tail wheel reminds me of the Apache tail section
Wow this is the biggest plane I' ever seen you do! Way to go!! I wonder is it heavy with the batteries..
I've done bigger ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC I'm curious what was the plane that was bigger, ill watch the video!!

Oh dear.....what sould I use the weekend on.....🤣🤣🤣.( non rip unboxing)
Great video, just one suggestion, when marking your CG, members of my club have made a great idea, use map pins, they come on all different colours, and perfect for reference!
That's a great idea too, since they will make a BUMP, but not so big or heavy that you'd have to worry about them falling out.
Must be draco day, 10 videos so far
Yes sir ! All released at 10am haha.
Horizon let us release the footage early, and you better believe it, we were ALL ready weeks ahead of schedule ;)
Will my NX6 fly the Draco? What functions more would the NX8 do on the Draco - more light options? Or something serious I would want an NX8 to fly it?
Yes, the NX6 will work, but I would very highly recommend the NX8....not just for this plane, but for many others.
Reverse Thrust
Light Control (on the fly - pun intended)
HOWEVER, you don't have RETRACTS to worry about...so technically, I believe you can use 7th [partial] channel on the NX6 for Thrust Reverse...then rest would work.
Nice video and plane. Where have you bought your plane stand or is it homemade
Hey Brian! It’s not a Wigla. It’s a Wilga. 🤗😉
After the 6th beer it all sounds the same 🤣
@@rotoryacht so true!
My bad
@@BrianPhillipsRC I like Wigla better anyways. keep up the fun videos.
Can you tell me what is the best Spectrum RC for the Draco or is the Spectrum RC DXS good enough ?
NX bit.ly/3mbVuNB ( I think you should get the NX8...if you're buying the Draco, this is what I suggest)
DX bit.ly/2OwKprB
Measure screws from bearing surface (bottom of head) to end of thrd.
Do you include the tip, since there's technically thread on there?
Brian, you can setup the 3 channel switch to have 1. safe + AS3X- 2. AS3X only 3. No safe or AS3X
Yes, good ideal...SAFE, AS3X HIGH, and AS3X LOW or OFF....I like this idea!
@@BrianPhillipsRC that's how i will set mine up.
