Thanks Steven. I think some people have exceptionally high expectations for this plane, and I GET IT...we all waited years to get it, and some were disappointed to have some defects (Some meaning a very small percentage of a percentage had some issues with the mains)...so I can see some people being hard on it, but this plane is FANTASTIC. I want more of this type of plane....SUPER SCALE....BEAUTIFUL...POWERFUL...AMAZING.
Bouncy landings with this plane are a sign of skill or the lack thereof, so I don't expect everyone that can fly this plane to be able to grease it in every time. I know I can't ;)
All draco videos released 15mins ago, but this channel demonstrates the planes best and the camera work is smooth

Hi from Andy in uk. Got my draco this week after ordering 4 months ago. Was regretting it as I felt I had been conned by the hype. Built it yesterday and watched this video last night. Was very encouraged by your experience which gave me quite a lot of confidence that it would fly OK. I fly with a detrum blitz transmitter so I don't have reverse thrust. Flew it today and it was great. Its a weird hobby, maidened the draco which cost 540 uk pounds and loved it. Also maidened the durafly efx racer 1100mm which I got in hobbyking sale this week for 80 uk pounds, and loved that too. Was in such a good mood afterwards I took my wife out for dinner. Love your videos. Happy flying.
You CAN program the Reverse thrust without a fancy transmitter....but you just won't have feedback on your screen ;)

....nobody ever talks about it, since if you're getting into expensive BNF planes, most are using Spektrum Tx'es, I imagine.

Great video Brian! A quick tip with stol takeoffs; you want to give full down elevator to raise the tail up then jam full up to pull the plane off the ground. You have to be careful though, as not to get a prop strike. On smaller models like the umx turbo timber this does not matter, but on the draco this will give you much shorter takeoffs. There are lots of videos of real stol pilots doing this in stol drags. Hope this helps.

No lipos were harmed in the making of this video ;) That's one VERY awesome part of the G1 and G2 SMART packs - I've really only "killed" two and that was because of BAD crashes - they are great, and the Draco was built up so much, I was incredibly impressed with how well it turned out to be - BETTER than I expected!
My Draco arrived today. Now I’m back to rewatch the build video and follow along. UA-cam will get double ad revenue out of me cause your videos are top notch. Again I’ll beg you NOT to shorten your content. Go big and go long. Your audience wants it!

Wow, thanks! We tried really hard to show it in a few different environments, but in the same SPOT....since HH and Mike Patey did such a nice job of cinematic coverage of the plane. Plus, I'm just a dude...not a pro-RC-pilot, so if I can do it, most RC'ers can handle it no-problemo ;)
I was nervous for about 3 seconds, then I realized - holy cow - it... is... awesome!!!
Really beautiful, solid, powerful, heavy, stiff and fast plane, with tons of gunpowder in its engine. I have no words. So sweet and "like real" way to fly. It has some unexplainable charm. You even could ride your cat on it, and she would be totally happy :)
I want to put the kittens in there too, so badly, but I'd probably get in trouble from EVERYONE ;)
Hello brian! That plane is a must have for me, I watched your sport cub s2 vid when I got back into RC flying, you were the first person to help me with it! I started to watch you three years ago! Now I moved up to an eflite 1.5m AT-6 after the eflite 1.2m clipped wing cub and before that I had a umx p51, your RC reviews are the best!
Very cool! This plane is a GREAT plane to add to your collection. It's SOOOO much more plane than either of the planes you mentioned...it's like TWICE the size ;) You will be amazed by the fit an finish.

I was checking the availability of my Time Share in FT Wayne and I also checked if my Draco had been shipped, or if it were still on back order. On the Horizon Hobby site where you check the status of your order it says, “Notify HH of your next of kin, preferably younger than you.”

The F-18...that was pretty scary. The SU-30, weighty to fly, but good flying... The Draco - easy, in the echelon of good quality, but heavier and BIG planes. It has no bad habits, but just be careful baking into big stuff, the tail dragger is nowhere near as solid as the mains, just like in real life ;)

It is 100% possible, but we don't do it because of the idiotic laws for our toys here in the USA.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I ear talking about the bad quality of FPV reception specially in the glasses feed back say it’s not perfect like the DJI Mavic pro for exemple? Is it real? In France we must be 2 person for using FPV. But like USA we have many stupid rules to. 😂 But do you know a really good FPV set quality, reception etc?

yes. You may not be able to control REVERSE THRUST and I used the R Knob on my NX8 for the light setting too.
You can most definitely fly and get all the primary flight controls, and SAFE / AS3X.
MAYBE you can still use Partial Channel 7 for Thrust Reverse?

I just increase servo throws in the transmitter for my kids.
I don't know on this AR637TA, if you get a PNF you CAN change many of these settings, but I wouldn't want to do so... the AS3X is rock solid on this plane, and the SAFE, is not going to be used 99% of the time for us.
Brian never charge the battery 🔋 when it is hot ! she won't last long ! believe me ! it's not good for the cell ! always let the battery cool down ! draco it's a beautiful plane ,I will enjoy that beauty ! ✈ thanks' for that beautiful video!💙

And if so what is the measurement for the caliper please thanks I would greatly appreciate it. And please keep up the awesome videos
I put the CG at the same place for all the lipos. I'm running as prescribed by the manual, and what we did back in the unbox, build, radio setup video.
Normally on planes like this, there's quite a lot of leeway on the CG, in my experience, but when you get into EDF jets, or PNP/ARF models...it becomes much larger issue.

Just tell her that this plane does all the car does and more. It drives forward, backward, turns left and right in tighter circles and it drives up and down in the air. The car just can't compete. It is an upgrade.

Great video and thanks for sharing. I have DX 8 radio and I want to get one because like you said it looks so gorgeous. Do you know if I can use my DX8 radio with this plane or do I need to spend more money on the NX8 radio?
Absolutely! If you haven't upgraded your firmware to latest and greatest, get that done, and you'll be golden. The way you can tell is when you go into the Function List (Click the scroll bar) and you'll see "Forward Programming" in the list, then you should be good...but still check so you don't miss out on some features.

G’day Brian from downunder. Our Draco’s have just arrived and I was lucky enough to score one. Just want to know if their were any significant trimming issues in your maidens? I’ve noted all your setup tips although interestingly the aileron differential didn’t come through with the factory programming uplload. Any major adverse yaw issues you’ve seen. Doesn’t look like it from your videos but any tips appreciated. Maidening mine tomorrow🙂
I didn't mess with any differential - LOVE the plane and it's flying behaviors are amazing! Good luck. Don't bite it with Thrust Reverse.

I’m planning to get Draco and I currently have the Night Timber X. What are the noticeable differences? Love your vids as always.
Noticable...when you get it in your hands you will see just how amazingly detailed this plane is. It's also more heavy. This is not a good thing, but it's also got bigger wings and more sophisticated wings for more efficiency in lift, and more power...but not proportionally more, it's probably a lower power to weight ratio, but the Draco is a power house. The Night Timber X is at INSANE power levels...so I kinda DON'T like it...it's just TOO much for my taste ;)
When you see how easy it breaks down, since it's huge, you'll be very happy.
When you see the landing gear up close, and watch it work, you'll be amazed.
When you see into the cockpit and see a light up display, you will see what I'm talking about.
The Draco could be a centerpiece on a table, while the Night Timber X looks like a cartoon...not that there's NOT a time or place for it, but the Draco is just so much more of everything!

I so loved the real Draco and was devastated when Mike Patel crashed it - but this is Draco reincarnated and is just one fantastic plane from Horizon. I don’t have one yet but you can be sure that I am saving up my pennies to buy.
I agree. I was heart broken for Mike when I heard about the crash. I know it was a huge financial hit, but also, just to experience a crash has got to be gut wrenching.
The Draco is such a cool looking bush plane. It just looks so darn solid....the Tank of Bush Planes ;-) See you in the Air!

Did you put the Just plane crazy landing gear upgrade kit? I have landed mine a lot softer than your firm landings, and cracked my gear twice.
Nope. I've heard of it, and seen his stuff "HANDS" but I must have a "special" plane...since it's been nothing but amazing! Maybe I'm too nice to mine???
