    That was an impressive exhibition of RC Draco's ultimate capabilities for sure. 👍 While I'm not nearly the RC pilot as you, I have a pretty good chunk of experience with Draco. Smooth landings were always a challenge for me, so I put softer springs in 1 shock on each side to allow a bit more cushion. I also changed to slightly smaller Kavan air tires that actually allow a bit of slip on landing surfaces and takes some of the strain off the landing gear. The ultimate result was much easier greased landings.
    Lastly, be careful when evaluating damage after a crash. These planes have carbon rods "everywhere" and tender joints in the upper cockpit area holding them together. If things get compromised, you may get a big surprise when you induce any major wing loading. Ask me how I know! 😑

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Рік тому

      We'll definitely see if it can handle flying again! The wings looked like they're perfect; a close inspection of the wing box didn't reveal any damage aside from a clean break. It should be fine.

    When I’m just putzing around with my Draco I pretty much steer it with the rudder and contrary Aileron and touch of elevator. If you do a flat spin and get it going really well, it can be difficult to get it to pull out of the spin, I’ve had a 9.5 on the pucker scale because of this issue, I think it’s the leading edge slats that can cause this issue, but may🎉it’s got something to do with running the 7,000 packs and causing the higher wing loading too. Great video and a great plane once you learn the characteristics of it. My all time foamie favorite is still the FMS Pitts with a 550 kv motor and a 16x 8 propeller, looks great and flies so much better than stock. Keep up the great work! Love the vids

    Good Video, I Now own both the 2.0 and the 800 mm both are fun to fly, but I agree HEAVY but do not feel as such unless you are either chopping throttle at landing (then the sink rate is like the titanic) and it does like to accelerate towards the dirt when it loses lift. Excellent Job showing the ability of the bird

    Jon I always enjoy your videos and appreciate what you do for our RC community. In this case, I personally have to strongly disagree with your presentation of the Draco as a highly agile, aerobatic flyer. I purchased this model, as did several of my pretty skilled buddies, and we all sold them as soon as we could. Yes, this is a super cool, original model, but it is a dog in the air and most reviews agree. Can it do everything you did with it in the air, sure, but the great majority of rc pilots will struggle or crash it trying. It hates to fly inverted and you have to fight to extend a hover. But that is not what it was designed for. It is a good STOL airplane and the only thing myself and many others I know enjoyed doing with it were short takeoffs and landings. Unfortunately that gets old pretty quick. Again, just my opinion but I ask you to fly the Draco for a while then see how you feel.

    • @TwoBrosRC
      @TwoBrosRC  Рік тому

      We flew it for quite a while on the review day. The key to making this model perform is not running a heavy pack. There's no performance issues that we could spot that weren't immediately addressed by running an appropriately sized battery that accounted for the heavy airframe.

    Hello Jon this was a great video on the draco! I'm sorry my question isn't about the draco but the turbo timber evolution. I noticed that in your maiden flight of the TTE you were using a 12x6 prop in it then you switched to the 13x4 prop both 2 blade my question is which prop is better for keeping the esc cooler and just overall flying the plane I'm not a 3d pilot just a scale flying with a bit of aerobatics which prop is the best for me to use? Also I use it with the floats on for winter flying on the snow thank you your friend Marty from Canada 🇨🇦 🛩 🛩

      We've flown both. Compare what you saw here to our last vid on the CZ Cub on floats: ua-cam.com/video/NgvOC0a_bJ0/v-deo.html
      Both models will hover, torque roll, flat spin, inverted flat spin, hammerhead, etc. All of the basics can be performed by each. The CZCub can be set up to perform rolling harriers and with that comes an insanely good roll rate for such a huge wingspan. It can't really KE spin. Draco can KE spin, and quite well in fact. They both have similar ground handling.

    This plane was a one time field visitor. Then everyone sold them. For half price you get a Avios Tundra and you go home with a plane. Beautiful plane but as bad as the Original that not longer flight.
