Durham City used to have a lot of good shops, sadly gone now but it's still a lovely city to visit. Durham Big Meeting is on next weekend, thats always a good day out, Durham will be very busy, those streets will be filled with thousands of people.
138th Annual Durham Miners Gala 13th July 2024. Celebration of mining communities, long gone but not forgotten. Procession of colliery brass bands not to be missed.
Yes, it's a nice ancient City and the Uni has quite a good reputation. House prices are very high because of the rentals for letting to students. I saw an ordinary two up two down (usually around £100k in Durham), on market for £375k ‼️ and that was 4 years ago. First time I went there I was looking for the Library so asked a chap where it was, and he asked "Do you mean the Pub or where all the books are?" Thanks for the walkabout 👌👌😃

@@joline2730 yes, the house prices in the centre are ridiculous, but go 1-2 miles out of the centre and they half and more. Crazy
