What a beautiful place for a 3D shoot! The bigfoot 3D target was hilarious. And that was really nice shooting from both of you. I tell you, at 46#, that BW recurve is still whipping those arrows down range at a pretty good speed. Looked really comfortable for you to shoot, too. There are so many beautiful bows out there, but my BW recurve will always be my favorite. Thanks for sharing this with us!
We used to have a nice course like that in our neck of the woods. Nice manicured trails going through the woods. The course had 50 targets. It cost $20 to shoot the course. The owner ran it on the honor system. You just dropped 20 bucks in the lock box that he had by the parking area, and you just went out to shoot. One arrow per target. It was really nice. Unfortunately, the owner died, and it’s not there anymore. 😞
Nice video, glad you guys made it down. Been watching and enjoying your videos and deer hunts. Was a member out there for a long time. Still enjoy their shoots.
Truth! Their draw, back tension, anchor, pulling through the shot every time....they both have exceptional form. I was at the shoot (saw my SUV in the video) and wish I'd met them.
Love your video style, haven´t seen better shooting to this day yet. Motivating to watch and love the peace in your videos also! Keep up the nice work! Greetings from Bavaria/Germany
I was at this shoot. Twin Oaks Bowhunters do an amazing job and have a great setup. One of the best trad shoots I've been to over the past 20 years. We hammock camped, shot two rounds and had a great time. Will definately be back next year. Gonna take a few days off to have more time to shoot, camp, and fellowship with some good people from around the southeast US.
I go here almost all the time shoots or not, alot of the times to practice, got first place youth recurve for the critter shoot, and will be going august 17, hope i see you guys
Great video, thanks for sharing. And if you ever wonder about archery looks in Germany, exactly like this 😅. The birds here sounds a bit different. If you ever visit Germany, give me a call. Cheers
Love watching you guys shoot! Great form as always and very enjoyable to watch. Just curious since you cant the bow how do you keep the draw length consistent enough to use the string clicker? When I cant the bow I find myself a bit short and always find myself shoulder pulling to get the clicker to go off.
Notice he has a longbow. What’s both your thoughts on the reasons why you chose each type? I like both by the way. Despite the older recurve I have may actually be smoother to shoot. It seems when I’m looking at bows, I seem to gravitate towards longbows of various types. I recently got an ASL. I have a Martin Savannah Aldo and an older roots game master recurve. I keep stretched string on that one , and it’s 6 lbs lighter than the other two. Maybe that’s why. I like them all really.
That begs me to ask the next question. Do you find much difference in feel as the shot is fired from the longbow vs the recurve. Is his longbow a black widow? I wish I could go to a shoot like that. I literally know no one around me that shoots trad. Let alone 3D courses.
Thanks for the video. It looks like you guys were the only ones out shooting on the course. Was it like that all weekend or was there a lot of waiting?
We actually had people in front and behind us the whole time but the groups were only 1-3 people so everything flowed perfectly until the last target. The last target was the iron buck. That was the only time we waited. 👍🏼
I used a limb clicker for on the first day, but took it off. When I dont use my limb clicker, i use feather to the nose. I set my feathers on my arrow shaft where it touches at about 26” draw. It works super good for me.
@@the.traditionalshotsI also was using the feather to nose technique and it brought my draw down from 28 to 26”. I was also forced to have a much softer bow arm than I was comfortable with, albeit I was shooting my best. Trying to avoid doing that now and using a fully extended bow arm with a corner of the mouth anchor. I miss the feather cue and hoping a clicker will bring me back to a consistent draw.
Great video! Y'all did a good job capturing the feel of the course and the shoot.
Good to see you folks posting videos! Thanks for sharing.

I was hoping we would make it on UA-cam thanks for coming
It was the best shoot I have been to yet. We had such a great time. Thank you!

Definitely was worth the drive from Arkansas for me
Great vid and Good shootin ya’ll!! I always enjoy twin oaks. It’s the best courses anywhere IMO.

Oh, yeah. 😆 Really hope I get to go to this some day.
Your videos are very informative and interesting 👍
awesome, Would love to see the dude shoot woody's for the longbow

Hope to be there next year .
I really like that longbow.

Looks real dope! I wonder if there is something like that here in Georgia.
Good job
I hope to be good enough soon to try something like that. Right now I would probably loose a bunch of arrows. Lol...
Don’t worry about how well you shoot, go out there and have fun. Some of the finest people you will ever meet shoot traditional archery.
Love watching you guys shoot! Great form as always and very enjoyable to watch.

If you set the clicker length while you are canting you should be fine.
I had a great time
Is there a link for this for the upcoming year I’d love to go
Good 👍
We're in Tennessee is this place at and can I buy some bow on line
Someone should make 3D targets that look like lawn gnomes. I think that would be fun.

He likes the longbow grip and quietness. I prefer the recurve grips. The grip is probably the biggest reason!
That begs me to ask the next question. Do you find much difference in feel as the shot is fired from the longbow vs the recurve. Is his longbow a black widow? I wish I could go to a shoot like that. I literally know no one around me that shoots trad. Let alone 3D courses.
Where in Tennessee do they do this is want to go so bad

Long bow 3 under?
question for the gal: what trigger are you using for your shot process?
Limb attached clicker it looks like
I used a limb clicker for on the first day, but took it off. When I dont use my limb clicker, i use feather to the nose. I set my feathers on my arrow shaft where it touches at about 26” draw. It works super good for me.
@@the.traditionalshots Yes ! cool technique, pull the feather to the nose. I spotted it from Peter Juulsgaard

Where do you get the Poppen Moccasins??
What kind of camping arrangements do they offer?
Who makes the moccasins? I’d like to buy a pair.
just out of curiosity is this brother sister, BF/GF, married?
How much weight on the inserts up front?
Hitting ETAR this year?
No, we aren't this year. We need to next year though.
Where in Tennessee is this shoot held?
Twin Oaks Bowhunters. South of Clarksville, TN
Фунтаж меньше нужен. Руки трясутся при вытяге, что у него что у неё.
great video!
