I have hunted that same area, but with a rifle. Can't even imagine having the ability to get so close to those Rams!! You are a true inspiration! Best sheep hunting video in my opinion!
Amazing. What a great family. Thats a total generational parenting win on every level. The hunt was pretty rad too….makes me proud to be a Traditional Bowhunter (and the fact I too am head to toe in Sitka😂😂)!! Great film.
I LOVE this video. The picture quality, the photographer angles, and obviously the hunt itself. For me, this video is a spotlight for the hunters who make incredible sacrifices, but don't always bag an animal. Hunters like Paul have many opportunities to punch tags but choose to pass. Experience>Trophy Thanks for sharing!
Awesome film and story. I'm not a hunter but a hiker who loves fishing. I think I might should test some STIKA gear during the winter season. Keep those wonderful films coming I enjoy them so much
I hope one day I can experience something this epic, these videos always light a fire in my heart to go out and adventure. Such a great film as always 🤙
Some of the biggest opportunities in life happen right after failure. Do not welcome failure or be content with it, but use it as a tool..... grow from it, learn from it, bounce back fast... Hunting, more than anything else, has taught me this.
I drew a tag for the chugach but didn't train or research much at around 30 yrs old. Went in solo from eagle river, hiked n 5 miles first night and woke up with huge blisters .....packed up and went home. It is gorgeous up in there. Amazing place. I stuck to brown bear hunting after that attempt
Man it’s videos like this that convince me that I’ll never buy a compound, trad bow hunter for life now 💪🏽 only regret is starting at 34 and not 14 but gotta start somewhere
Reminds me of some western mule deer and pronghorn hunts with a stickbow. So easy to get within compound range…almost impossible to get within stickbow range
best video ive seen in a long time, ive went down the trad bow hole , hunting this year w bear kodiak magnum from the 70’s , my friends keep saying why ? u got a crossbow ? i have recently got a flintlock rifle thats the next leg of the trad journey, thx for sharing
Man I just missed a good buck for my area with recurve last week during a 4 day black bear hunt. I saw a sow and 2 cubs and that was the only bears I saw, got within 15 yards of that buck. All on the ground, everything has to be perfect to harvest an animal from the ground with trad bow. But success isn’t always bringing meat home. I was successful in the woods last week.
I’ve packed for 10 days and food takes the most space and weight when water is available. Do you have a supply drop sent in for 30 days, store caches of food in the field ahead of the trip, or pack 60-75 pounds of food in? I’m seriously curious about this. What’s the situation?
we rode bikes in and cached food in the valley on this one. we rarely carried more than 10 days at a time. the most I've carried on solo trips is about 18 days worth like on this years (2024) sheep hunt
@@BillyBob-fb8jy It's a Toelke longbow with a the Bow-Bolt system. That's a pretty popular take-down system used by many bowyers these days but Toelke does a really nice job with them
Just got my first deer with a recurve two weeks ago. One of the most proud moments of my life.
Congrats. 👊
Hell yeah man! What an accomplishment brother
You’re a lucky dude! Dad to learn from, son to pass it on to, supporting wife, and a beautiful place to hunt. Hats off to you sir!
So many truths revealed in this adventure. Greetings from South Africa.
Love Paul's thoughts on how sheep hunting should be fun! If it's not fun, you're doing it wrong!
What a great video. Paul is definitely someone to look up to. A humble man. The real definition of a hunter.
Paul is a true inspiration, thanks for tuning in!
Watching this just makes me happy to be a hunter.
one of the best bowhunting videos I've ever watched
Stoked you enjoyed the film.

I can’t express how much I enjoyed this. Great work sir… You have grit and lead the way in what hunting should be.
That's as good as it gets, cinematically and ethically. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for tuning in, Jerry.
Just awesome! I never understood the hunter that is inba hurry to harvest and get out, the hunt (all of it) is the experience in my opinion.
Fantastic cinematography and storytelling. Inspiring!
Thanks for kind words. 🤝

Great film 👏👏👏
Such good stuff! Real hunting, truly for the love of the hunt and love of the chase.
Wow! That is a beautifully done video. I got to hunt the same tag a few years ago. Challenging and great hunt. Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely epic adventure......even my wife who's a non hunter was captivated by it...
Stoked you both enjoyed the film.
Fantastic. Just flew over the Chugach Mountains and they were stunning from 35K feet. But to be in the middle of it, has to be amazing. Well done!
Such a cool film !! What an adventure!!
Lots of life lessons there 👊

amazing video! Hunting at it's finest.
This is a beautifully shot video!
I missed my window, but when my kids grow up I'm going to tell them to be like this guy.
Absolutely incredible.

Paul would be a really cool friend to have
Our son is named Rhen with long blonde (curly) hair and they are about the same age. Love it

99% of hunters wouldn't even last more than 5 days out there, let alone get within archery range several times, nice work man
cool story and video!
Thanks for tuning in.
Awesome guys !
Great video👍
Inspirational...
Summit of hunting. I love this way, very close to sport, nature, challenge. I practice ultralight hunting to move faster, quiet
God Bless America.
Thank you.
Nice job ! Great video !

Everything about that was impressive

Just wow 🫶
Wow. Damn fine man right there.
Awesome video series. Great stuff. Can I ask you about the longbow you are using? I dont recognize it.

Very good
Quite an incredible undertaking.. Been there twice so I can relate. What brand of longbow did you carry? Thanks for the great cinematography too!
I didn’t realise Elon Musk was so into traditional bow hunting. Very good watch
Epic
If i ever went ram hunting I'd bring with me a dozen of my pet sheep for lure and cover. 😂
If we had ram down here in the south you know we’d try it.
Man I just got into rock climbing and was dreaming of a sheep hunt with ropes
great vid!! what bow are you using? Thanks
Thank you! Toelke Whistler

does anyone know whet type of ice axe he had? it was expandable
it's a an old Petzl Snowscopic. unfortunately discontinued.
@@pforward1 Thanks. Also what type of long bow never seen one that twists together like that. Always good to see other stick hunters still out there,

I always side with the sheep when I suspect the hunters spent 50 Grand
Did you watch the film? Dude lives in AK. He hunts sheep OTC.
All that work and it comes down to a branch you didn’t account for…details
Yes, traditional archery is real archery. But it is also a religious experience. If you shoot a traditional bow, you know what I mean.
Elon Musk?
