    Nice guitar, Congrats, But Yngwie uses 8-46 which is an unbalanced gauge that is signature of him. you can buy his signature string series from Fender, I highly recommend it for this guitar...

      It's worth getting and they hold their value so if you ever had to sell you'd get your money back. Also, the Earthquaker Grey Channel is a good match to the OD he uses so you could be getting big tones out of this.

    Forgot to mention if you experience the high e slipping off the board look at two things. 1s t is the neck straight in the pocket? Loosen the neck screws, hold it straight, and re-tighten. If it's straight and you are still having an issue I changed my bridge out to a Callaham V/N model which keeps a 2 7/32" mounting spacing so the holes line up on the body but the string spacing is 2 1/6" which tightens up the string spacing resulting in more meat left on the fretboard because my YJM had the fret ends way over dressed.

    • @GUITARISTED
      @GUITARISTED 2 роки тому

      Hi Joseph. I have same issue with high and low E slipping off of board. Are you still satisfied with the Callaham V/N model bridge? I'm looking for solution as this Strat is awesome except for the "slipping". Thanks for reply.

    • @GUITARISTED
      @GUITARISTED 2 роки тому

      @@StringBanger Well the Callaham is installed and it's great. That's step 1. I don't like feel close to nut so getting a custom nut replacement - bone (string spacing will match bridge). Won't be as sharp (attack wise) as the bullet nut but that's fine with me - have tinnitus so warmer is better for me. Still a beautiful instrument. Thanks for tips - they def influenced me.

    Excellent! Did you have the issue with the high E string falling off the guitar during bends and if so, how did you fix it? Just ordered one today and will probably put the Yngwie 8 gauge strings when it is time to change and do a setup to my preference.

    • @BNGamesYT
      @BNGamesYT  Рік тому

      Im running 9s and dont have that problem. As long as you dont pull super hard on your bends it should be fine

    • @ThatOneRyanGuy
      @ThatOneRyanGuy Рік тому +3

      If your YJM Strat comes with the high E too close to the edge of the fretboard then you can adjust the neck to center the strings better. It's very easy to do. I had to do it on mine. Just loosen the strings then loosen the neck bolt screws (just enough to not be tight. You don't need to loosen them much) and you'll be able to move the neck to sit under the strings better. I don't know why a lot of these guitars leave the factory in need of this adjustment. Congrats on your future Yngwie guitar!!!

    Thinking about grabbing one of these . Never played on a scallop nor do I play metal but should I be able to adjust ? I play some rock, a lot of blues , jazz / gospel , neo soul etc. but I like the look and sound of this guitar

    • @user-nv3ws6zg8b
      @user-nv3ws6zg8b 3 роки тому +2

      This guitar might not be the perfect fit for your genres because chords on this guitar are not the easiest, those scalloped frets are really made to bend and it's easy to bend chords out of tune. If you have a really light touch you may be able to adjust so that's your decision but the tone you can get with those pickups is so sweet

    • @user-nv3ws6zg8b

      @@defconedeverything is a personal preference.some people like the feel of them, just like some people like headless guitars and some people dont, some people like fanned frets others hate them. If someone wants to try something they should be allowed too, and if not its always and option to sell

    • @StringBanger
      @StringBanger 3 роки тому +2

      Best advice is go to a shop that has a YJM in stock and try it out and see if you like it. I love scalloped necks and my chords do not sound out of tune because I can instantly adjust the pressure needed. I found that me personally I can play on either neck just as well. Give it a shot!

    • @StringBanger
      @StringBanger 3 роки тому +4

      @@defconed I wouldn't say it's a novelty because it does serve a few purposes. I enjoy the feel of scalloped neck just as I do a conventional fretboard but I found that playing on a scalloped neck makes arpeggios slightly easier to play because you do not have the resistance of the wood. One of the biggest factors is playing live on a hot stage. The sweat builds up on a conventional board and it will slow you down some and you need to work harder to play. I see guys loading their guitars up with fingerease all the time. With a scalloped neck that resistance just isn't there which is nice. The best thing he can do is go and try one for himself to see if he enjoys it but don't tell him not to waste his money because that is simply your opinion.

    Nice man, that neck pickup seems really low. I hated the middle pickup on mine and even lowering it to the floor I still hit it with my pick. I ordered a custom pickguard from Warmoth with no middle pickup cutout. So much better

    • @StringBanger
      @StringBanger 3 роки тому

      @@BNGamesYT The mesa is awesome. Can I make a suggestion? My YJM didn't have the fury pickups due to the year but yours should and for me the pickups are always weak. I had the YJM 308 pedal but I wanted something right on my guitar. I removed the 2nd treble knob and installed an EMG AB afterburner. I used the fishman fluence strat pickup battery pack which is easily charged via USB to powe the EMG AB. Now I can dial in more gain than I'll ever need. I'm currently relicing my YJM at the moment and when I'm done I'll post a vid on how the Afterburner works and sounds with the guitar.

    • @ThatOneRyanGuy
      @ThatOneRyanGuy Рік тому +1

      Yeah those YJM pickups are extra tall since they're stacked. I wish I can get my middle pickup lower on my YJM Strat too. Oh well. I mean, there ARE options, but you'd be routing the wood underneath the pickup. I'm not going to do that, personally.
