$2500 in Canada !!!! $300 In China ( Aliexpress ) --- I had a 1988 Custom Shop Malmsteen Strat . Sold it at a loss . Richie Blackmore does not scallop the entire fret board
Just finally picked one up..I’ve been on fence about the scalloped neck..but after a few hours noodling I got familiar with the lighter touch u need ..bending a g string is phenomenal..u can bendddd…vibrato is great..love the vintage white finish maple neck ..fine machine ..I’m older played many years finally got one after years of debate…good luck with yrs buddy Glenn 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice guitar, Congrats, But Yngwie uses 8-46 which is an unbalanced gauge that is signature of him. you can buy his signature string series from Fender, I highly recommend it for this guitar...
And tunes down half a step....
Awesome guitar. Congrats! I'm currently rolling my pennies for one with a rosewood fretboard.
Awesome video!! Love that Fender Yngwie Malmsteen Stratocaster!!!
Those frets look massive! That guitar is bad ass!
Awesome guitar and nice playing man!
Thank you!
I've been wanting this guitar model since I was like 13 years old(I'm 26 now), I hope I can finally get one next year
It's worth getting and they hold their value so if you ever had to sell you'd get your money back. Also, the Earthquaker Grey Channel is a good match to the OD he uses so you could be getting big tones out of this.
I just got mine after wanting one for 22 years! I hope you got yours or are able to get one in the near future!
I have one and have no regrets! this is the best electric guitar I have ever owned or played!!!
Forgot to mention if you experience the high e slipping off the board look at two things. 1s t is the neck straight in the pocket? Loosen the neck screws, hold it straight, and re-tighten. If it's straight and you are still having an issue I changed my bridge out to a Callaham V/N model which keeps a 2 7/32" mounting spacing so the holes line up on the body but the string spacing is 2 1/6" which tightens up the string spacing resulting in more meat left on the fretboard because my YJM had the fret ends way over dressed.
Hi Joseph. I have same issue with high and low E slipping off of board. Are you still satisfied with the Callaham V/N model bridge? I'm looking for solution as this Strat is awesome except for the "slipping". Thanks for reply.
@@StringBanger Well the Callaham is installed and it's great. That's step 1. I don't like feel close to nut so getting a custom nut replacement - bone (string spacing will match bridge). Won't be as sharp (attack wise) as the bullet nut but that's fine with me - have tinnitus so warmer is better for me. Still a beautiful instrument. Thanks for tips - they def influenced me.
I got one like this a few months ago...the best guitar ever,,fender guitar has value guys,,,the more years it go,,more expensive it will be....
Excellent! Did you have the issue with the high E string falling off the guitar during bends and if so, how did you fix it? Just ordered one today and will probably put the Yngwie 8 gauge strings when it is time to change and do a setup to my preference.
Im running 9s and dont have that problem. As long as you dont pull super hard on your bends it should be fine
If your YJM Strat comes with the high E too close to the edge of the fretboard then you can adjust the neck to center the strings better. It's very easy to do. I had to do it on mine. Just loosen the strings then loosen the neck bolt screws (just enough to not be tight. You don't need to loosen them much) and you'll be able to move the neck to sit under the strings better. I don't know why a lot of these guitars leave the factory in need of this adjustment. Congrats on your future Yngwie guitar!!!
Whats that carved out frets thing?can somebody explain me that real fast i forgot what it is called?! Scalops??whats the deal? Does that not bend the string or note when you hsve a strong hand?Idk.thanks.edit.ok.i got a littel info
Saw it today in the window of my fav.guitar Store. Looks amazing, iam more on the Ibanez n LTD Nu Metalside, but i fallin love with it.
Felicitaciones, tengo una igual, excelente guitarra y toque!.
Very beautiful guitar! I've read a review someone says this guitar rises a force within you, what do you think he might have thought saying this? Is it played faster than any other type of guitars?
Definitely not faster, in fact it will likely slow you down until you adjust to the feel of the neck.
Guitar sounds great 👌😎
Thinking about grabbing one of these . Never played on a scallop nor do I play metal but should I be able to adjust ? I play some rock, a lot of blues , jazz / gospel , neo soul etc. but I like the look and sound of this guitar
This guitar might not be the perfect fit for your genres because chords on this guitar are not the easiest, those scalloped frets are really made to bend and it's easy to bend chords out of tune. If you have a really light touch you may be able to adjust so that's your decision but the tone you can get with those pickups is so sweet
If your playing single note things this guitar is also really great for that
@@defconedeverything is a personal preference.some people like the feel of them, just like some people like headless guitars and some people dont, some people like fanned frets others hate them. If someone wants to try something they should be allowed too, and if not its always and option to sell
Best advice is go to a shop that has a YJM in stock and try it out and see if you like it. I love scalloped necks and my chords do not sound out of tune because I can instantly adjust the pressure needed. I found that me personally I can play on either neck just as well. Give it a shot!
@@defconed I wouldn't say it's a novelty because it does serve a few purposes. I enjoy the feel of scalloped neck just as I do a conventional fretboard but I found that playing on a scalloped neck makes arpeggios slightly easier to play because you do not have the resistance of the wood. One of the biggest factors is playing live on a hot stage. The sweat builds up on a conventional board and it will slow you down some and you need to work harder to play. I see guys loading their guitars up with fingerease all the time. With a scalloped neck that resistance just isn't there which is nice. The best thing he can do is go and try one for himself to see if he enjoys it but don't tell him not to waste his money because that is simply your opinion.
How do you find it with playing funky music and clean tones in general
Its clean, but I dont play much clean stuff.
The holy grail for me
I can't decide on this or a custom shop, I'm leaning towards the CS because they're totally different guitars
Where can I buy the guitar please? I'm from Indonesia and find it difficult to buy Yngwie Malmsteen's signature Fender guitar. Is it safe if I buy via online shop directly from your country?
try sweelee malaysia.
Nice man, that neck pickup seems really low. I hated the middle pickup on mine and even lowering it to the floor I still hit it with my pick. I ordered a custom pickguard from Warmoth with no middle pickup cutout. So much better
Yea I haven't even now. Plan to soon because I just bought a Mesa Boogie v35 and will want to put that through its paces. Hoping to get a bit more volume
@@BNGamesYT The mesa is awesome. Can I make a suggestion? My YJM didn't have the fury pickups due to the year but yours should and for me the pickups are always weak. I had the YJM 308 pedal but I wanted something right on my guitar. I removed the 2nd treble knob and installed an EMG AB afterburner. I used the fishman fluence strat pickup battery pack which is easily charged via USB to powe the EMG AB. Now I can dial in more gain than I'll ever need. I'm currently relicing my YJM at the moment and when I'm done I'll post a vid on how the Afterburner works and sounds with the guitar.
Yeah those YJM pickups are extra tall since they're stacked. I wish I can get my middle pickup lower on my YJM Strat too. Oh well. I mean, there ARE options, but you'd be routing the wood underneath the pickup. I'm not going to do that, personally.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!......IT'S A BEAUTY.....AND SOUND AWESOME!!!!
That pickup use YJM seymour duncan or hs3 dimarzio?
I have a 2018 model . LOVE IT. Replaced the tremolo with a callaham vintage narrow to cure the "high e slipping off" problem.
I thought it slid off because the nut is wider than the custom shop?
@@gregarcher8177 No, the malmsteen has a narrow neck and a wide spaced bridge. The proper cure is the callaham vintage narrow tremolo
@@GuitarLordGR thanks 👍😊 hopefully I won't have that problem when I get one but I have read that the USA string spacing is 1.65 and the CS is 1.62, idk but I'm leaning towards the CS over the USA standard.
@@gregarcher8177 Narrower neck means worse string spacing. Get the usa model, the differences are NOT worth 3000 bucks extra
Btw thanks i was thinking about the harley Box too.you sold one🙂sounds killer
nice guitar...i want one....will get with brown neck
I have a Fender YJM double-neck model. Getting used to the scalloped fretboard was easy. I didn't have any issues with it. I took to it as if it were a non-scalloped neck.
Hey so the scalloped neck was easy to get used too? I am blues and gospel player but I love the way this thing sounds and look and the fact you can bend the strings. But could I get use to it?
Can someone please help me? whats the finish on that fretboard (almost plastic) And how can I get a guitar with one of those?
This is the only production guitar I know of that comes with this sort of high gloss finish on the maple neckboard.
@@BNGamesYT my 2009 American Standard Strat had an extremely high gloss finish on the Fretboard
My 2014 std and my 2008 std have a gloss similar to that also.
Where u order it..
How was getting used to the scalloped neck?
Ive always had a light touch due to my weak hands so it wasn't much of an issue. If you find you grip the neck and strings tightly it will go out of tune easily especially with chords. Otherwise I found the neck to be thicker than I expected so that was the bigger hurdle since im used to Ibanez wizard thin necks.
@@BNGamesYT Thank you for your reply. Guess I need to man up and get used to it! :)
I use 10s but tune a half step down so almost a 9. Strats sound way more kick ass a half step down. Malmsteen, Hendrix, SRV...
Send you candy? That is not nice that is what psychologists call "creation of positive association" and "conditioning". Beautiful guitar.
Great shirt!
How much?
how much it cost
I have that exact one and my 17th fret on the high E is fucked. Can’t bend it. Needs a fret dress straight out of the factory. 😐
blackmore has a better scallop design though with it being a graduated scallop
I already have 3 yjm stratocaster but this video is making me wanna go and buy a new one again.
why.....
@@GaryMcNeill i second this...why...
@@vulgr5076 i third this
Gotta fourth this…
Do it!
4:44 feel the fury!
14:43 ...almost a strap on English nob joke there.
It's not over man.
Now you have to avoid barber for two years, to buy at least to Ferrari and of course to play guitare 10 hours per day for one year and it will be good :)
from my experience, 2 ferrari stickers will do the job.
How do I get this Stratocaster in india and how much I have to pay?
$1 million USD
I would like one, but I wish they would make a NON scalloped or lightly scalloped version, because they are HARD TO PLAY! 😂
Look for a late 80s model, the scallop is very slight on his original models
Wow man🤘👍
14:34 shake ya foundations style
the only issue with this very expensive guitar is the slipping of the E string because the incorrect bridge was used; too wide. Massive fail for a Fender product, especially a signature model.
I’ve never had this problem.
Fender may have fixed the issue on the latest YJMs.
Those scallops are bizarre lol. Not sure if I could tap with those.
Just requires a light touch, or weak hands like mine lol
You could tap easily with that. YJM Strats are incredibly easy to play.
The same guitar of custom shop song is more better and beautiful
and 3x the price too!
13:54 shortcut for those of you who just want more playing and less exposition
Where's buy this guitar, please link
@@Jackson.33 if you live in US it’s on Sweetwater

Man your right hand is not synchronised with your left hand.
Ok?

i suggest you to give it to someone who need it more
Not you then ;)
yeah!! scallop makes bending easier, bends note way out of tune, lol
you're not doing it right then
More practice and less pay for guitars bro....
That, uh, doesn't make any sense.
This video could have been 5 minutes long
no Beck's trem
no tbx
no neck +bridge pickup as single coils
no 25db boost
so, no !
no good neck -joint
