Great to see you again on here. This is such a great needed tip for small eyes. Love it and it looks easy to do too. I am horrible at doing eyes when I don’t want to use safety eyes. This has come to my rescue for small eyes. Thank you so very much! 😊🧶🦋💜
I have been STRUGGLING making tiny eyes for the 20 mini alligators I'm making as end-of-year gifts for my students and this tutorial has just saved my bacon. Thank you, nice internet person!! This is so helpful!!!
I’m so glad I came across this! I’m (re)making the head of a toy intended for a 9-month-old because I put safety eyes in it without thinking 🤦🏼♀️ What a brilliant alternative!
I was just thinking of making a mini dinosaur keychain but was worried about the eyes being wonky since there is no safety eyes that are that small and french knots are fiddly. This video came in as a blessing😊 Thank you so much, you're amazing❤
Thank you for this tutorial! I struggled with the french knot and couldnt get a round nice shape for the eyes. This method has really so much more control for the eyes. ❤
Great tutorial! Super cute eyes and helpfull pointers to achieve great results! I am looking forward to being proud of my little creatures with good eyes. Until now my creatures had wonky eyes and it made them odd. Lovable, but a bit akward. Now I have a choice.
Ty for this Technique….. need to make Larger ones for the Bear that I’m working on right now…..I just ordered Safety Eyes but for my one year old great granddaughters I don’t really want to use Safety Eyes…..I found a video for the triangular nose that you sew on, but I am terrible with the eyes…..any help would be greatly appreciated…..haven’t heard from you in a long time…….. 🥰👵🏻
I took last year as a sabbatical to write my new book, The Essential Guide to Amigurumi www.planetjune.com/amibook ) but now I'm back in action! This technique is specifically for tiny eyes - as this makes a ball, I don't recommend using thicker yarn to make larger eyes, as they stick out too much. For larger eyes, I crochet a circle with a finer yarn (see my Gingerbread Man for an example: www.planetjune.com/gingerbread ), and use the same glint technique I described in this video 😊
Ah, thanks for this! UA-cam was formatting the ")" as part of the link - I've added a space after the link now (it looks silly, but at least the links will work!)
Yep, I just released an adorable new Duck and Goose pattern, and there'll be more animal patterns coming soon! Sign up for my newsletter if you want to hear about all my new releases as they happen: www.planetjune.com/news
June, June, June... You never cease to amaze with your genius innovations, and exceptional quality tutorials. We really are spoiled! :)
Aww, thanks so much, Conor!
Not at all what I was expecting - SOOO MUCH BETTER! This is so perfect - thanks June! Temperature key snake, coming up!
Haha, thank you - we aim to please 😀
This is a great idea! I've tried making eyes with French knots but they usually turned out mismatched. Thanks!
You're welcome! This is a much easier way to make sure they'll match 😊
Genius, thank you June. I was struggling to find a way to add tiny eyes to a gingerbread man that was safe ……and here it is. Great technique 😃
You're very welcome, Sara!
Great to see you again on here.

I'm so glad you like it! It should work perfectly for baby toys 😊
The outcome looks very nice! Thanks for such a clear explanation!
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much! So much better than safety eyes for certain projects!

Yay, that sounds like a perfect use for this technique!
Thank you for this tutorial! I struggled with the french knot and couldnt get a round nice shape for the eyes. This method has really so much more control for the eyes. ❤
I'm so glad you like my method - I find it way better than any other method I've tried 😊

@@planetjune I clicked on your link regarding your book and it said oops!!! Doesn’t exist…..
I found your book on Amazon…will definitely buy it soon…..

Definitely giving this a try.

Love it thanks so good video
This is awesome. Omg thanks
Genius!
I'm so glad you like it! I think it makes a big difference 😀
Eres genial!!
Gracias!
Love it
This was WAY easier than the tutorials where it wraps the yarn around the needle!
I'm glad you like it! It's really hard to get a French knot exactly the right size and in exactly the right place - this way we have full control 😊
Are you working on any Amigurumi animals? Crochet Alongs are fabulous….. I would love to make dolls that have clothing on them…..
