    I do quite enjoy the sound quality coming out of this mic and it picks up your voice robustly and with presence. I can see it being quite useful in a variety of situations, when cardioid directionality isn't needed. Thanks for the vid!

    Well done, man! Thank you!
    I recently upgraded to a pair of GoPro 9 cams with Media Mods for kayak fishing (one in front of me that shoots at me, and the other above and behind shooting forward). I was previously working with a pair of 6 Blacks with the front cam mic'd with a Movo GM100. It worked fairly well and sounded great, as I was relying on the front cam's audio track in post. But syncing audio (and moreover, video), even with Premiere's sync function, is very unreliable (and I'm being generous). I waste a ton of time syncing files.
    These mics sound great and are idiot-proof and setup-free. I ordered a pair of them, along with deadcats and enough right angle adapters to swing the mics from the back of the Media Mods to the front of the cams. With an entire investment of $60 for the two cams, this is a game-changer, editing-wise.
    Thanks again for the great review!

    Good video! The mic sounds so good, and it's so small! I wish GoPro would let you plug a mic straight into the side of the camera, but the cage, adapter & this tiny mic are still a small profile. I know what you mean about the deadcat and mic attracting attention -- no one pays attention to someone with just a small GoPro, but you start adding the other stuff, and suddenly, you're in the spotlight. I'm going to check out some of your other videos -- hope you're still using this mic!

    Your review helped me a lot! First I wanted to buy the Rode Microphone but finally ordered the 001. I don´t need it for vlogging, so MY voice is not important but the voice of the surrounding area.
    Making vacation videos on a cruise ship, at the beach or on the streets... e.g.
    Sometimes I put it on my mountainbike - filming a tour at moderate speed. I hope the microphone can handle that as well.
    But there is one question i´d like to ask: Do I have to use the original wind puff or do you use it in your video??? What type is it? A cheap one?

    Was about to pick this one up from Amazon, but decided to check out a reviews first, and yours is the best review yet.
    One question: Why is it called a "Dual" microphone? Does the "Dual" refer to the omni-directional feature, or something else? Also, isn't a globe-head or ball-head kind of omni-directional mic better and more efficient, since it is shaped to cover 360 degrees due to it's ball shape? Please reply ASAP so I can make the purchase. Thx.
    Gave a thumbs-up for sure :)

    • @TodayIFeelLike
      @TodayIFeelLike  4 роки тому

      I am not sure where you saw that it is called a duel microphone it’s called Omni directional microphone. Basically what omnidirectional means it picks up audio from a 360° pick up pattern around the microphone.

    • @dubiousfella
      @dubiousfella 4 роки тому +2

      @@TodayIFeelLike It's written on the box itself -- "Dual Microphone". I can send you a pic of the box. Yes, I know it is omni-directional, but I just wanted to know why it is also called a Dual Microphone.

    Is the etm good for live music recordings or should i get another one and if yes which one do you recommend?

      That's a good question and I can't answer it because I haven't used it for that.

    How would the Edutige ETM-001 sound when on a chest mount?

    • @TodayIFeelLike
      @TodayIFeelLike  3 роки тому

      That's a good question it should sound just as good since it's omnidirectional

    is your sharpness gopro on low, medium or high? please answer

      When I made this video the sharpness was probably on high. For a long time I left it at the default which is high I now have it on medium and leave it there.

    can you share a link to the light?

    • @TodayIFeelLike
      @TodayIFeelLike  4 роки тому

      To the mic or light because I didn't show a light in this video

    • @TodayIFeelLike
      @TodayIFeelLike  4 роки тому

      I’m not sure which light you’re talking about but it’s probably the Litra pro. That is the light I use most of the time when I’m shooting with my GoPro or my smart phone.

    i have the same setup for my gopro. do u find yourself getting a popping noise every once in a while?

    • @TodayIFeelLike
      @TodayIFeelLike  5 років тому

      No that doesn't happen with me. When does it happen with you? Is it consistent?

    • @ANDREW247
      @ANDREW247 5 років тому +1

      consistent, not really, i would say its sporadic. when it does happen it happens to a group or videos, not just one or two and it stops.
      • wifi connections off
      • phone on airplane mode
      • phone about 20ft away
      • checked the connections on the adapter, gopro, and the mic
      it has happened under those conditions at different times

    • @TodayIFeelLike

      That’s really weird maybe there is a problem with the adapter.

      TodayIFeelLike i cut the doubt out of that question by switching mics, my rode mic didnt pop. im guessing the edutige might be sitting too close to the gopro adapter?

      TodayIFeelLike i FINALLY figured it out! i had my gopro wifi connection OFF between the gopro and the phone, but i didnt have connect off.
      gopro settings > connections > scroll down to connect and make sure its off. im not 100% sure, but i heard this connection looks for or auto connects to your phone when youre on the app.

    The 3 internal microphones are amazing -- just drill out the case -- to expose all 3 -- and purchase a foam cover for $2 each -- smaller and lighter is better -- true

      I was going to say no longer waterproof, but of course to connect any mic to the Go-Pro that's the case, which is frankly awful.

    • @TodayIFeelLike
      @TodayIFeelLike  5 років тому

      @@SilverfoxJB Maybe with the Hero 8 GoPro will release a wireless waterproof mic. Imagine if they had a transmitter thats like the same size as the Rode Wireless Go with the mic built-in and is waterproof or at least water resistant and the Hero 8 has the receiver built-in as part of the camera. That way the camera can remain waterproof and still get great audio.

      @@TodayIFeelLike The only thing I hate about the GoPro 9 is that the mic is geared towards those who stay in front of the camera. If you are behind the camera, the audio is horrible. I have an outdoor channel and I'm always moving from the front to the back of the camera as I move around and show things so I'm not always in front of the camera. If this mic works great on the 9, then I'll get it right away lol. I had no issues with the mic on the 7 but I really like the 9 for the selfie screen lol.

      @@TodayIFeelLike Thanks for the info. I do like that it easily plugs right into the adapter. There are not many options for cold shoe omnidirectional mics.

      You are right about that. Most are directional condenser mics.
