    I think that even though the Rode has the best sound, the ETM-001 is the best compromise. The Saramonic is just too anemic IMO. Looking forward to getting this setup next month!

      Totally agree, that's why I use the ETM 001 for most of my Gopro Vlogs!

    Great vid. In my opinion I still liked the ETM 001 best!!

  • @TodayIFeelLike

    Roma its not really so much that the ETM-001 is sensitive that is the problem its really a problem that the ETM-001 is a true omnidirectional microphone and is picking up sound in a 360 degree sphere so its not going to isolate sound in any direction. The Rode mic is a unidirectional microphone so it is designed to isolate sounds coming from the sides and rear of the mic and focus on only what is directly in front of the mic. The Saramonic is supposedly an omnidirectional mic too but it clearly doesn't have as wide of a pickup pattern as the ETM-001. Have you tried the Edutige ETM-008 it is a unidirectional mic like the Rode but similar in size to the ETM-001. You do need a right angle adapter to use is with the GoPro. Anyway I like the video thanks for making it and looking forward to the next one.

      @@RomaFedorov Yeah I like the 001 too I really like the warm bassy sound it has. I just wish they made that mic unidirectional with a built-in angle adjustment like the Saramonic.

      Nah, it's a hot mic for sure. The manual controls on my DSLR have to be MUCH higher for the VIdeomicro compared to the ETM-001 to get the same -12db

      Finally a relevant information. I was looking for a mic to record my concerts on a minidisc. Turning volume down should make great recordings, and there are not many omnidirectional options out there except Saramonic. Focused mic would make selective sound source which is not such a good idea while recording an ensemble. You saved me a lot of time man. Thank you

    Very good Video Roma ... and absolutely helpful cos I´m looking for a mic to use with the Osmo Pocket ... I think the ETM-001 is the better choice for me to keep the Osmo as handy as I love it.
    Thank you for your great Job ... like your Videos .... Keep on ... Lovely Greetings from Germany ;-)

    I got the the ETM-001 for my Gopro 9 and I agree that the sound is loud.
    But the main problem I have is that I use an angled 3.5mm adapter on the Media Mod so the mic will be directed forward and not backwards for when I go around, and it falls down/doesn't stay horizontal when the Edutige 001 is on as it's pretty heavy

  • @scintilion
    @scintilion 4 роки тому

    Would using a tube to shroud the Edutige muffle environmental sounds and focus the sensitivity, essentially making a crude shotgun? A cardboard paper towel tube or rolled up paper might be effective. PVC pipe would be more study, and could be glued to a removable gasket.

    Thanks for your thoughts on this mic. Any update now in 2022 for the best mini mic? Do you still recommend it? I am looking for something like this and have been looking at Boya, Saramonic, Comica, and now the Edutige. The Edutige seems the best build quality of these mini mics. I do have the Rode Video Micro but that one is unforutunately too big for my purposes. Thoughts?

      @@TravelingwithAndrew If you're doing moto vlogs or if you're going to use this microphone in extreme windy situations. You'll still hear some wind noise in the audio.. This wind muff is not fully wind-proof. To be honest you can't really find anything that'll provide you full protection from wind with these tiny mics. Unless you'll put it in a really big wind muff.
