IRAY micro RH25 thermal scope, one of the most versatile thermal scopes today. Watch as I review the IRAY micro RH25, but also watch me drop some hogs.
Do you see any issues with height when trying to co-witness with a scope? I’m thinking about mounting with my scope which has 1.5 inch rings - it’s a Leupold LR/T 3.5x10x40 in FDE with TMR reticle. So that scope is a bit of a unicorn. Heard you say in this video the Iray would work best with a LPVO but I’d like to make it work with the Leupold. Any thoughts?
Nice review and I appreciate all the camera shots. My only question is how most people afford these units at $5,500? I make good money and that seems like a lot to me.
If I paired this with a vortex razor hd gen iii, how much of a picture quality drop should I expect when using it as a clip on when zoomed in 3-4x on the vortex?
So never ran the Spector before but if that’s what you got already I would try it. If it doesn’t match up great I would just get another 1x4 scope or 1x6
I have a Rico 50 and love it. Really interested in one of these. How does zeroing work as a clip on, is there a reference point to zero the image to the day scope to zero without wasting ammo?
@@infectedoutdoors thanks. My first experience, different brand, with a clip on was terrible. First time i tried it, couldn’t hit a 18” silhouette at 50 yards. I would have to adjust vert. and horz. position of image to match sight in of the day optic and repeat process if changed firearm.
So can you clip it on if you have a higher powered scope? I’ve only shot one thermal so Im not very savy on these yet lol I’ve got a night force nx8 2.5-20
Are there any other options for a guy just getting into thermals. I like the versatility of being able to mount in front of my 1-6×24 and also use hand held. Thinking I shouldn't spend the 6k since I'm new at this. (I will of I see a couple more videos talking so highly of this unit). I really only need to shoot out to 200 maybe 250. Thanks
Would love to see this vs xp50 trail 2. Obviously this has several other uses compared to the trail but I’m mainly thinking in terms of image features, palettes and what not, as well as image quality and detail. Was dead set on the xp50 till I heard about this.
@@infectedoutdoors curious then as I have a few use cases for what I'm getting, I've already talked to the guys at Iray about this as well, one is hunting, close range primarily so as you say the micro is best. The other, and this for me right now is actually more important, using it mainly as a camera for recording airsoft milsim footage. The micro works in many ways but I'm wondering in terms of palette options if it's as good as the Pulsar. My main focus is on getting the best background footage as possible. Fox optic had a good video comparison with a silo in the background and the XP50 made it look amazing. Basically my goal for this particular purchase is for it to give me the best footage overall. The versatility of the micro is a massive bonus but I just want to make sure, in terms of color options, that it's on par, or even better than the Pulsar for my particular use case, outside of using it for hunting.
Most everything that I will be filming, in terms of the AO distance will be within a quarter mile. Most is close quarters and even at long distance there's no benefit from a gameplay standpoint of being able to see really far away. Only thing that would add is just the cool factor of getting that kind of footage of maybe someone far off in the treeline or on top of a building. Most of the milsims are in abandoned factories, mills, military bases, etc so the distances are rarely very far.
I'm pretty sold on this and your video definitely helps but I've watched other videos saying that if you are hunting hogs out to about 50 yards then this is good but if you're shooting 100 to 200 yards then it's not good. I have a 1 to 8 scope on a .308. Do you think it will be good to 200 yards for hunting? Thanks
I would get the skeet, but in my opinion the RH25 is better than both. Just bc it’s more versatile. Also I hate cr123 batteries and both are over price. Yes prolly bc they are made in the USA but also IRAY keeps renovating. Unlike others
I'd have to disagree. For the price, then yes. But the voodoo s from pixels on target is a true military thermal that is a clip on, helmet unit, hand held, and a stand alone. Also has an IR laser.
@@1MOA308 I was merely commenting on how this was stated to be the "best" in this cateorgory on thermal period (handheld/helmet/weapon mounted therml), when it is not. This is a great optic for the price, even though it's up charged by the importer (UNV). No one is arguing that fact.
Great review man, very thorough. Thanks for doing this.
No problem
I Love Your commentary, Thanks with much love and respect 😎
Thank you for watching we appreciate it
Great review!
Thank you
Thanks for good video and honest information.
I just ordered that thermal. Specs look great and it is small.
Loved hearing the reference to us south ga boys man! We’re getting it done too!
We know y’all get after them to
Great video sir! I’ve been looking for a thermal that has multiple usage!
Thank you for the review. You have convinced me to buy this unit.
Awesome
Me too. Mine is arriving tomorrow!
Interesting piece of kit
Great review and very informative
Thanks man
Good review man.
Thanks
What camera was used to record the thermal video?
It comes with the Pictaili Adapter now for clip on?
Great Content 👍
Thanks

I imagine it would work with the right rings but prolly not as effective
How does the image compare to Nvision? I’m trying to decide between this unit and the nox35. Great review!
Think it’s about the same. But I would feel like the nox you can identify further distance. But at the same time the IRAY is half the size.

They find a way.

None as a clip on
They also have the 384 sensor version of this for half the price. It does not have as wide of field of view which comes into play for helmet mounting.
Plan on doing a video over it pretty soon
It also doesn't work in front of an optic unfortunately.
Would you recommend this optic for pairing with a Elcan Specter 1x4? Or would you recommend a different thermal optic for the Elcan?
So never ran the Spector before but if that’s what you got already I would try it. If it doesn’t match up great I would just get another 1x4 scope or 1x6

No need just throw it on. Should be good

I seen ppl post pictures with it with that exact scope but I personally never mounted it and used it with a higher power scope.
That additional cable is your trace IR cable for Raptar, etc

Not sure if you’ve seen or gotten anything yet but it’s $2,500 at scheels right now. $3,000 not on sale

I ran both, love both. I would go with the micro if close quarters the trail 2 if more open country

Go micro then, check out Ultimate Night Vision late video. The footage is all micro mainly.

Yes 100 percent go with Micro, no other display quality than the micro
Where did you buy the iray at?
How would it work as a clip on with a red dot such as an EOTECH EXPS-3 do you think?
Man i don’t know I think it would work but it more built for the 1x4. I have seen ppl using them with red dots
What about the PIXELS ON TARGET VOODOO-S?
Sounds like it’s plenty good and clear on a 1-4/1-6 and even a 1-8. Curious how it does on 2-10 or 3-15 range.
Idk I know it was built for 1x4 etc

About 200 yards is max I would say
Thanks!@@infectedoutdoors
So, does your scope have to have an illuminated reticle? Can you see your daytime scope reticle when using this?
Yes and you don’t need illuminated
👍🏻👌🏼
What is the realistic max distance for shooting targets/hogs using it as a stand alone?
150 200, all depends the person behind it really
Do the AGM StingIR 640 next. Thanks.
See if I can find one
So if you use this as a clip on and you zoom in to 10x on your scope is it clear?
No it will be like cropping the image
Has this changed at all in the last 2 years? Any upgrades?
Still love this thermal and still is one of the clearest most versatile optic to date
I have AGM and iRay, and what I can say about the iRay is the need to not have to NUC as often.
And when it does it’s super fast
Sorry this is new for me what's a NUC?
@@Rprecision Non-uniformity correction (NUC)
What qd mount is that? Doesn't come with does it?
Yes they come with it
what reticles option does this unit have?
Same as the Rico MK1 50
What would you say is the effective range if you’re using solely for clipon?
200 is about as far out we got with it
@@infectedoutdoors thanks for the reply! What is needed to mount as clipon that doesn’t come in the box? Just purchased one after watching this haha
Good to know should be on Ultimate Night visions website
Would this pair with 4x32 acog?
I’ve seen ppl do it I never had
Dang guess it's time to save up. Gonna get this for helmet mount.
You will love it
@Infected Outdoors is it a good rifle scope for ar15 to shoot raccoon and critters around the house too.
Oh yes for sure
@@infectedoutdoors now I'm excited. Did you helmet mount it?
$6000 scope better make some bacon!
Is this thing sensitive enough to detect birds? Say a chicken, grouse, etc
Yes
Does it have zoom?
Yes to 8x
Made in china? If they were the same price would you get the Trijicon Oasys Skeet IR or Voodoo-S?
I would get the skeet, but in my opinion the RH25 is better than both. Just bc it’s more versatile.

Yeah I mean I would expect that from a 16k-20k thermal
Also they take a cr123 which in my opinion suck
@@infectedoutdoors there is a battery compartment add on that accepts 16650s for it.
Yea and it’s also $10k more. Not even comparing the same class of thermal…

Cara de loco el tipo.
Can you run an external battery pack?
Not that I know of, but really don’t need one
@infectedoutdoors Have you tried plugging in the computer cord to a external battery pack?
No I just run the 18650 batteries usually two gets me through all night
@infectedoutdoors dang, ok, I'm still getting one, maybe 2. Thanks!
i really want to meet a normal dude that has 6000 f***ing dollars to spend on this stuff, lol. im not poor by any means, but dang.
Hobbies are expensive
Dig the ATP t
Thanks
Very good quality but 5998$……..
Like I said your paying for the technology, 15 years ago this would have cost 20k
6k ,wow not affordable 😑
Keep throwing the thermal around so we can’t see it, or just lay off the coffee!!
My dog farted while i watched this. stinkyyyyyy
