It was a brilliant day on the foreshore. I met a few of the great mudlarking friends that day. Thanks Ken for filming. I just arrived back from Finland to Germany. Ken say hello to Maarina and Carrie from me. See you in September on the foreshore! Till then happy hunting!
Lovely to see our good friend and fellow Guernsey Mudlark, Ollie and the lovely Pirjo in your video. That buckle is an amazing find. I look forward to our next trip together.
2:10 It looks like a proximal phalanx. I think it should have been kept and reported, regardless of age, out of respect for the deceased and to see if they can identify the age and learn more of that person’s lifestyle/diet. It may have been from a burial at sea, a workhouse prisoner, or possibly plague victim. Interesting yet ominous find!
This is a champion video of the humans who walk the foreshore. Carrie is a hoot! She found a flint, showed it at 8:30, it’s a delight. Want to see my fave flintknapped piece? Go to ‘the junk shop’ in Greenwich, ask the proprietor,Toby,to show it to you. It fits the hand perfectly. Museum-worthy. Ahh,lovely little Pirjo! I happily met her 3 maybe 4 times, she is super sweet. She is from Finland??? That explains the very non-German name,I had no idea. 😅
You have a very mellifluous voice - I can tell you are a trained thespian!

It's a wonderful place, I go as a break from being a carer. My hubby says it's my spiritual home.
