Maybe, but the Grammys are a disgrace as of late, lacking integrity, it has become a popularity contest, and imagine giving an award to an incredibly talented woman like RAYE who turned the industry upside down, and justice was served
@@jojociara5201 and Raye is an independent artist now who broke out of her unfair record industry contract, the Grammys are an industry insider group always patting each other on the back and they don't like when artists go independent, the Grammys are a bust, Brit awards got it so right.

she's so right omg. This explains why the narrative of the music industry is so heavily pushing artists who sing about all the things they have because they have money whereas most the world who live without these wealth privileges can't relate, they're side is not seen and heard so we're only listening to one experience and that's the experience of being rich and having nice things which is so so wrong.
SO much respect for Raye for being brave enough to tell it how it is. a lot of your favourite artists are complicit and benefit from the way the machine operates in the music industry.
so brave of Raye to be a voice and face to finally talk about the financial side of the music industry... say what you want about music and $, but EVERYONE deserves to be able to live if they put in work. Even in music
Good conversation, but she left out another huge part of this, probably intentionally: artists who don't write their songs bullying the songwriters into giving them a writing credit in exchange for recording their song and putting it on the record and/or releasing it as a single.
@@ArKaneAcrumProductions Some singers demand a writing credit, even when they don’t contribute, in exchange for putting that song on their album. If the songwriter does not agree, it can get really ugly. Publishing for lyrics brings the big money. Plus, certain singers want to be considered an artist and/or musician so desperately, they do whatever is necessary to be able to call themselves a “singer-songwriter”. That includes some very disturbing tactics to take advantage of those songwriters who usually do not have any leverage to “negotiate”.
independent artists like her need to be protected at all cost!! I appreciate RAYE for speaking out about this bc its so true and as an inspiring artist myself I can see lot of corruption in the industry. Music is an art form meant to heal us emotionally and artists should be compensated for being humanitarian to the culture.
The more I learn about the entertainment industry, the more I wish artists would avoid these labels but I’m sure they punish anyone who wants to be independent
So appreciate the courage Raye has taken to express the mis-justice thats going on in the music industry. I really pray and hope this issue will eventually get resolved for the near-future for all the young people coming up with their gifts writing and producing great songs.
Theyll have you starving in these writer sessions that you pay to transport there, to eat your food all for an 'opportunity' whilst the producer, engineers get paid to be there like wtf
Here in the U.S. there is a song writing advocate named Tiffany Red. She had been fighting against the same problem. Its gotten so back she is getting death threats.
This why I pulled all my music from bs Spotify and the cheating Distrokid and the rest of them. I'll rather give my music away for free than have a conglomerate steal 99% of it.

See, what did I tell y'all? All this "I'm doing music for the art and love" is some cliché BS. When Ice Cube, Lisa Lopes, etcetera went up to the labels' offices w/ bats & gats, do y'all think they were fighting for some doggon "creative control" over they music or were they tryna see what the fuck was up w/ they paycheck? Was Prince Rogers Nelson writing "sLaVe" on his face to be cute and make a statement or was he tryna see what the fuck was up w/ his paycheck? All that art sh¡t is cute, but when it get down to the wire and you ain't got shit to show for...I mean... Nah you done made all this music, but yo' ass is in the po' house because you _cain't_ pay yo' bills.
If you don’t value singer songwriters as genuine humans expressing a genuine human emotion then forget about my upvote you lost the plot. We desire real people who tell stories on their songs and lyrics. If we leave the instruments and even our poetry to a computer or AI to do it… then that’s the opposite to what she said!
Because Raye is so outspoken , telling truth, is why she wasn't nominated for the Grammys. They didn't want her up there telling this truth.

YEP. You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT. Because we ALL know she probably would’ve taken SEVERAL Grammys home if she touched those noms.
She should have won a freaking Grammy long ago for what that woman has gone through
Mmm I just don’t think she’s that big in the US
Absolutely, I want this woman to have a bigger voice. She can change the industry.
I knew the industry was corrupt, but I didn’t realize how corrupt…
Very demonic and very very corrupt
All profit driven industries are corrupt by virtue of their nature.
