For anyone confused about the “final build” comment: This close to launch, the game will have been sent off to (if not already received back from) certification. It takes a while. But obviously legally they can’t say that, or mention if there were small things they had to change for certification that Sajam wouldn’t see anyway. Also it might have just been an old build with different frame data to mess with streamers
Well it only had two colors for every character and no alt costumes so it actually shouldn't be the final final build. You know the "final_final_really_true.exe" file
It may not turn out this way cus we never know how tier lists are gonna shake out until a fighting game has been out for a bit but I feel like gief and any other character with command grabs are gonna be absolute monsters because of the new drive mechanics. I keep thinking of different scenarios in my head and I just feel like those types of characters in particular have so many options when they get in on you. You nailed it. The training mode settings system is a phenomenal way to help new players. Training mode is pretty intimidating when new players have no idea what they’re supposed to be looking for. I’ll never forget being a kid and being overwhelmed with Soul Caliber’s training mode.
Its interesting that Manon's normals are actually quite stubby. Pretty unique design decision to have a character who is 7 feet tall have shorter range.

It makes sense if she can combo into her grabs, you don't want someone to be able to tag you mid screen with a target combo and then into a 37% command grab
At 41:36, They changed the way fireballs work in this game; it's now similar to KoF. Regular fireballs will just straight up vanish when they collide with EX fireballs, and the EX fireball doesn't lose any hits. The only reason Ryu's Denjin charge lets him win fireball wars is because it adds a hit to the hadoken, causing it to lose one hit and continue versus other meterless fireballs, but, if the opponent just throws one EX fireball, it loses completely.

While perfect balance is of course impossible when every character is scary ideally even the weakest character will have tools to deal with the strongest. It's also just more fun if all the characters are sauced up.
In theory this should work, but in practice it just always ends up becoming _Animal Farm_ levels of paradox with all the characters being "fucking broken" and thus "equal" but some still inevitably being "more equal" than others. Like vortex characters who basically make the game single player if you get knocked down even once and are unable to guess correctly. That said, the Street Fighter series is generally sedate enough that such a philosophy probably has more of a chance of actually working here than in most other series. Either way I still just cynicaly expect poor Zangief to eventually get nerfed into the ground while other characters continue to be allowed to get away with murder though since that feels like it's what always ends up happening to the poor guy.

You can actually SET which theme plays at the stage select menu. There’s random, stage, P1, and P2. Random will play all three obviously and the others will play just the one theme. This option is in the demo. I believe it’s automatically set to random

i disagree. I've *never* seen a character with JP's moveset. For one thing he has at least 1/3rd more options than a 4 button fighter! People need to STOP thinking it's okay to compare Street Fighter to Anime Fighters. They are complete opposites to the point that CAPCOM had to *create* "Anime Fighters" with Marvel vs. CAPCOM. The play style is just too different :3.
Street Fighter has had characters with charge moves before they took nothing from that vapid waifu collection. The reverse however *cannot* be said. There is a LOT in SG that came from Street Fighter! Like MOST of the game! xD

I was already going to play manon just because of how great she looks, but to learn that she is a mix up monster has me even more excited! I love mix up characters so the fact that she can mix up between low,overhead, hit grab or command grab is going to be fun for me, my opponents not so much.

It's kind of insidious how big his command grab range is. If you're looking at center mass of his body, the range is absolutely bonkers. 15:14 shows pretty clearly that there's effectively a full character model space in between his front foot and Lily. It seems to be bigger than standard LP.

Zangief looks incredible, but I hope SF6 doesn’t have the ragequitting problem SF5 had. The sheer amount of times I would get the winning hit and then it would go EHHAHH THE SESSION HAS DISCONNECTED had me stop playing in 2016.

What exactly does wind do for Lily? Faster and more damage on moves?
Every condor move becomes plus, are faster, and do more damage (also condor spire gains multi hit)
It's kind of insidious how big his command grab range is. If you're looking at center mass of his body, the range is absolutely bonkers. 15:14 shows pretty clearly that there's effectively a full character model space in between his front foot and Lily. It seems to be bigger than standard LP.
