    Every time Sajam says "you've gotta jump at Guile" it reminds me of that bell curve meme.
    On the low end you've got the beginner going like "oh man, this character is throwing fireballs at me, I should jump over them."
    And in the middle there's the crying dude saying "No! You fool! You can't jump at Guile, he will simply kill you with flash kick!"
    And on the top end is the dude in the hood saying "you have to jump at Guile."

    • @happycamperds9917

      Tbh turtling might be the best thing vs Guile. Maybe I'm stupid but he doesn't seem to have many answers to you just parrying his booms.

      @@happycamperds9917don't play guile but when I play against him, if they see you turtling a lot of them like to set up sonic cross and approach you from behind it

    • @BeAsTMoDE528
      @BeAsTMoDE528 Рік тому +1

      @@happycamperds9917 you can’t turtle against a zoner if the goal of the game is to either kill the other guy or end the round with more health than them dude. The goal isn’t “spend 90 seconds without dying”. If you turtle and the zoner gets impatient and goes into a disadvantageous position then he’s bad at that type of character, and if you turtle and he DOESNT do that then you are just losing because there’s no way for you to damage them, you can’t win fireball wars against zoners unless you’re dee jay or another zoner.
      Either walk them down with movement options that evade fireballs/using parries until you get to a range you can actually force them to do things other than flash kick/sonic boom or use some projectile invincible punish. It’s easier said than done but saying “just parry at full screen until you just sort of win” isn’t really a game plan. Even in that situation both the zoners in the game DO have setups to keep themselves safe while they mix you up if you don’t approach because guile has some long range buttons and his sonic cross to pressure you if you’re passive and jp has low/overhead/grab projectiles that he can mix up with his spike, so you WILL end the round with less health.
      So yeah you’re stupid. Play to your character’s strengths. Get in their guts with your tools if you’re rush down or a grappler, be fundamentally better with spacing and poke/hit confirms if you’re a mid ranged character, and stay as far as you can while pressuring safely if you’re a zoner.

    Interesting, during the Akainu vs Oil King match when Sajam pauses to explain that Akainu's recovering drive gauge is at a pixel, Oil King actually gets his CA because of the grey health lost from counter DI. And once it's done his HP goes back into the blue, I didn't know you could get CA from grey life missing, then 'exit' the critical health %. Cool interaction, can't wait to see it be the reason a combo kills in the future lol

    People in chat trying to complain about biased commentators are so funny. You want your commentators to care about the match, the players, and the tournament and feel invested for that hype factor; that means sometimes they have favorites. As long as they're still covering the match and talking about both players during it, rooting for a player along the way is not a bad thing. Stop looking for an excuse to randomly hate on commentators in every tournament match you watch, and just enjoy the freaking gameplay.

    So I figured this is as good a way as any to ask, is there any good advice other than "get good" to go from a more cancel based game like Strive to a game that requires more links? I find myself dropping links so much more than cancels for some reason.

    • @Mx_Sneezy
      @Mx_Sneezy Рік тому +3

      Plinking, where you double tap your buttons with two fingers, is a habit I picked up in SF4 that’s helped me quite a bit with links. The only issue I’ve found is if the button is part of a target combo.

      I like to count out loud when doing a combo, kinda like following a rhythm

    • @Bone8380
      @Bone8380 Рік тому +1

      Start treating combos more like a rhythm minigame, and generally just remember that practicing better patience and timing will dramatically help not just in combos, but in all aspects of play in a more neutral based game like Street Fighter.

    • @Bone8380
      @Bone8380 Рік тому

      @@Mx_SneezyPlinking is when you press two different buttons of descending strength (heavy then medium for example) quick enough to make the game interpret it as pressing one button (heavy punch in this example) on two consecutive frames. It was to help with one frame links which don't really exist in SF6 and the technique doesn't really help with looser links like what SF5 and 6 have.
      Pressing the same button twice very quickly is not a plink.

    • @allypearlman5569
      @allypearlman5569 Рік тому +4

      There are two control schemes in this game, modern, which is kinda like smash, all supers are just directional input+ a super button, plus there is combo assists, the downside is you get less normals and a damage reduction. Classic is how street fighter usually works, with motion inputs and no combo assists. Contrary to popular belief, both seem to be competitively viabile, as despite the damage reduction, modern modes one button inputs let you react to stuff classic players physically could not
