I can't believe they expect people to pay money for that sht especially with the expansions costing EXTRA 20+ years after release!
Exactly !!!!
People are spending money for this which is insane 🤣 a lot of people bought it too
I won't buy them until they get fixed
They put more effort into the commercial than the product.
That tracks.
I had planned on getting the bundle this week, but holding off now until fixed. I don't have either of those Sim 4 kits, so that's A nice bonus.
I'm going to wait for the fix before I buy anything
EA having it's customers carry out Quality Control testing for free yet again. cash grabbing and cutting corners are they only thing they're good at! These issues should have been identified and resolved prior to rerelease!
the kits are absolutely a marketing ploy, but I think it's more likely a ploy directed at people who only played the original games and are coming back to them now lol TS4 is free-to-play right now, so they're probably pushing for people who have never played the game to install and try it by adding some free cheap packs along with the games they were already planning to get.
Notice a lot games now days are released then later patched bugs stuff.
Super sad but this is true! Get a crappy buggy game and a month later they release a patch to fix it. Its a crazy process
I had a problem with Mr Humble who delivers the free computer when the sim in sims 2 moved into a new house. He kept coming back with more free computers. I was getting left 5 or 6 computers a day. Eventually I moved out of the house, sold the computers, and was able to buy a better house. But, he came back again with the same 6 computers a day. Eventually I abandoned the sim. Shame really because I had put her through university. This problem didn't happen again, and hopefully it was a one off.
Let’s hope that this maintenance is worth it. It’s done wonders for the MySims Cozy Bundle.
I WAS going to get the Sims 2 legacy but After hearing and seeing so much about thesr older sims games having current issues, i am proably gping to WAIT ans SEE that EA hopefully FIXES the games. 🤩👍✌
I’m really sorry the rereleases turned out to be so buggy. Hopefully, they’ll fix it in the next update.
They're not remastered, they're rereleased
@ Still sorry they turned out so buggy.
It's astonishing because older versions work fine. They made them worse 😂
i have so much love for sims 2, i hope they fix it too.. i'm not mad, it's more of a sorry feeling as you said indeed.
I'm kinda glad I kept my mods for sims 2 that make them playable on newer PCs since I'm sad that sims 2 re-release didn't include the IKEA stuff pack.
James Turner said in his video yesterday that he was able to copy over the old IKEA files to the new install so they're included. Might be worth looking into after EA gets all these bugs sorted.
I was going to get the birthday bundle this week but I’ll hold off till it’s fixed
You know what? Im glad theres issues to be fixed, AND that the sims team is taking notice of them! This means that, even if you chose to pirate the legacy edition or not, we all end up with a better version of the sims 1 and 2 that doesnt depend on 30 mods or file touching to be stable.
Is it annoying? Of course, but us reporting this makes the games better for everyone at the end of the day c:
i only got one crash and in ts2 at the start after I've created my sim and went to place him onto a lot. Opened the game again and everything was saved and it didn't crash since. This is a known bug on og version and it happens pretty much every time on clean saves
When a Sim is created from CAS as soon as you hit OK the game saves the Sim file on the hood, is automatically saved just like anything you do in the hood map.
I haven’t had any issues thankfully but I also haven’t taken my Sims on vacation yet.
This is another one of those weird scenarios where I can play the game perfectly fine yet everyone else is crashing. My only actual issue with these games is figuring out how to stream them, lol.
Can't even get Sims 1 to boot up.
That trailer reminded me of classic sims i loved it
In the Sims 1 it's harder to keep track of things, and Sims may just fall like flies. I'll try my best when I return to the roots I began at.
In Sims 1 time management is definitely much more important than it is in the later games
I already have a physical disc version of Sims 2 plus some EPs, but I was excited for the re-release since it was supposedly optimized for Windows 10 & 11. Unfortunately I only got to play for 5 hours total before the game decided it had enough and won't launch at all anymore lol .. Even when it was still working it would pitch a fit if I tried to launch without internet connection. Pretty disappointing, but oh well
You can get the throwback fits kit in the sims 1 bundle so I don't think it's an apology for not having the ikea kit in sims 2 rerelease. Probably just a way to attract sims 4 only players to the bundles
I'm just curious if they have separate teams for all these bug fixes. EA Cade is clearly handling the bug reports for all. I really hope this doesn't take away from TS4 teams.
I only had one crash, has worked perfectly since. I still have my other copies on my win 10 computer with Sims 3, but wanted to have a these just in case. I am sad for folks who couldn’t get it to run at all.
They should have included a configuration tool for changing things like pixel scaling and all that.
Unfortunately at the end day it’s still EA…… but here’s hoping the fixes come sooner rather than later🤞
I am not sure what " Pink Soup " is, but if it's where Sims turn neon glowing pink, along with other things, and they just stand with their arms up in T pose, I never had that with the Free version of TS2, but I did yesterday with the new version, and then it crashed. But then it has crashed every time I tried to play.
First I tried, with some of my old mods I was using with the free version, and it crashed, so I thought maybe it was the mods, since most didn't show up in my game, and some build/buy items that had special interactions didn't work, like a coat hanger that allowed you to get new clothes for free, from home, it doesn't work in the new version, though it did in the free one. So I took all my mods out. Played some more, and it crashed again, I then thought I may have made a mistake setting all the graphics to max, including the smoothing out things one, whatever it's called. So I changed them back to where they were, played again for a bit, and it crashed again, after people turned glowing pink and did the T pose, while not being able to move in any normal ways.
Now I did play The Sims 1 too for a few hours, and it never crashed and it had no other problems either. I didn't play either today though, I decided to play some The Sims 4 for awhile instead, though I also worried it might crash, since it has crashed a few times since the Holiday event started, so I now feel I have to try and save my games every so often, though the first time it did it I was creating a new Sim to play to do the Holiday event, on the day it started, so I was in CAS the first time, so I couldn't save anything. And I lost a really good Sim I made, and couldn't make the next one look as good as the first one, unfortunately.
Now I will just wait and see if they finally fix The Sims 2 before I bother to try and play it again, and seeing as the new Event starts this week, on the 4th, I will focus on trying to do that while I wait for them to fix The Sims 2.
Another thing missing from The Sims 2 is Body Shop, from The Sims 2 Deluxe, and I noticed they didn't explain why it's not included, when it was included in the Free version, The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. Sure you do have to search your PC to find it, because i did, but I tried that with the new version, and it isn't on my PC at all, so The Ikea Stuff pack isn't the only thing they left out of the game. And I wonder if they could have gotten the right to have it, but would have had to give Ikea money from the sales of the game, and EA didn't want to, meaning they were being greedy. I wouldn't be surprised if that's it, since it doesn't make sense that they would let EA have it if they were getting something out of it too.
I’ve been lucky so far, Casandra married Darren Dreamer and they went on their honeymoon to Twikii island, and they stayed at the resort you mentioned on the beach, so far so good. I really hope EA gets everything fixed for everyone though
For now I only had the direct 9 error but for the rest I don't. Ok I usally play with no pet. No crash on The Sims
This update ruined my game. I can’t even play sims 2. 😓😓😓 they better fix this.
i have a really annoying bug in the sims 2 where the game crashes everytime my pet comes home from work.
Sims 2 runs fine for me but I still have a few problems. When I create a family with animals, the cat appears in the game but not the dog. It has disappeared and when I travel with the family, I can buy a vacation home but when I return to the vacation home with them, the game crashes or freezes while loading. I can only load Sims 1 as an administrator but I still get a black screen before it starts and I can't save Sims 1. Mods in Sims 2 are going but only packages. Sims2Packs are not going because the installer isn't included or I can't find it
I got the direct X 9 error, but it worked in windows mode and used a borederless mod
Sims 2 crashes after like 5 mins, Sims 1 doesn't even open.
Yeah I liked the live action video too. Thought it was pretty funny and nostalgic. Makes me feel less worried if they were to actually make a movie based on the lore of the sims it'd be pretty cool.
I still have a problem with their direction of care for the sims games themselves though... Their mind is still mostly on money and less on quality control...
I haven’t played TS2 rerelease yet, but TS1 works fine for me so far. It crashed once, but after that worked fine, even when visiting magic town. Guess I am lucky then. Some friends of mine couldn’t play at all since it kept crashing.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to play either. Sims 2 crashes when I try to get out of CAS and Sims 1 will not even load!
I can’t imagine how hard it is to rerelease a 25 year old game onto modern hardware. Many modern games struggle when they hit the market and they start running on a massive amount of hardware configurations. Hopefully EA patch them fully and don’t just abandon them.
I have yet to run into any problems when I played and I left them running for a while.
Got a full refund this morning…so sad… I wanted to play Sims 1 ! But it did not work from the get go.
Same! Was so excited to finally be able to play sims 2 and my computer couldn’t even run it
How do you get a refund? I purchased it with the EA app. If you get a refund do you lose the game?
@@marieantoinette7947 of course you lose the game, you can get a refund if you've never been able to play / start it, happened to me with sims medieval
In The Sims 2 do you need a mold to get supernatural character
My sims 2 is so buggy. I never had this issue before when I owned it…
Well, I'm glad that they're gonna fix these 2 great games but come on, didn't Cyberpunk teach game developers anything?
Do you know if there are aliens in The Sims 2 or do you need some type of mold for that
These re-releases are nothing more but cash grabs by EA, if EA really cared about these two games, they would work on making remasters of both games, along with graphical improvements of both games. And when done working on the remasters, they'd release them as The Sims 1: The Definitive Edition and The Sims 2: The Definitive Edition, with all packs coming with the Definitive Editions of TS1 and TS2.
They’d be called cash grabs no matter what.
What will happen with my the sims 2 ultimamente colection?
It’ll stay the same. I have both the Ultimate Collection and the new Legacy re-release and they’re completely separate from each other
Am I surprised that they are bugged? No. not at all. It's about getting the most money out of people as usual.
i think ea re released these so people wont be able to find the archived vers. i was excited for it but its must another money grab
This is why i didnt purchase as soon as it dropped, im gonna buy it when instant gaming has a discoumt for it 😂
Should of been remastered both released, they just want money and ppl keep buying them, ea don't care abt us, 91 DLC.. too
I really wanted console versions
LOL. Just don't buy unless you absolutely have to. (Pro hint: you don't.)
Why no console release
These versions of Sims 1 and 2 weren’t on consoles to begin with. So it’d take more effort than a simple re-release to have them work with console controls
The trailer reminds me of a really bad porn
