I watch Dragon Ball, Z, and Gt as a kid. And I love all 3 of them. But ever since Super come out when I was teenager, I was excited. But to me it's not Dragon Ball to me. I know GT have some problems but at least it stay true to the franchise. I can't say the same for Super.

I'd even dare say that Abridged do a better job of accurately representing certain characters. Which is sad when official material from Toriyama is more of a joke than a fan-made parody series.
The only way I would say you could justify the use of the name Dragon Ball Z again, would be if they made a End of Z movie and retold the events of the End of Z.
They might have to do that anyways since it's gonna have to fit with the events of Super, which the original End of Z does not. Might as well make it a movie and just call it Dragonball End of Z. Maybe Black Freeza crashes the tournament, idk. Since he says to Gogeta in the Broly movie: "I will come back for this planet one day".
I literally forgot "Z" was slapped on to those two movie titles before the Super series. Either way even with the Z title I still consider everything from Battle of Gods to present all "Super". To me the last official "Z" anime was the 2008 "Yo Son Goku & Friends Return" movie, it still used the Kikuchi Z bgm and I wish Super's animation was like that. Was a nice blend of classic and a modern look.
The End of Z saga was way too short. They should have made it last about 13-20 episodes. DBZ: Kakarot DLC of End of Z had a better ending with Goku and Vegeta fighting each other one last time, but ended with a draw, which lead them to train harder to defeat the other.
are those kakarott dlcs approved by toriyama or nah...?? rip 😞 it was cool seeing ss3 goku vs ss2 vegeta tho. but kinda ruined the hype of how OP eoz goku theoretically is.
Goku vs Vegeta is pointless at that point in the series. Not only did Goku not care one bit about the "rivalry" that only ever existed in Vegeta's head. Vegeta got over it in the Buu saga. It was a defining moment for the character. To do what Kakarot did is to take awy from that character arc/development and belittle Vegeta's growth - which is exactly what Super does all the time.
The massive power creep would still be there even without God ki. The 10 years of peace would still need to be retconned. The fact Bulma and Vegeta hadn't seen Goku in over 5 years would also need ot be retconned. Super does not fit in with the End of Z narrative in any way. Unless it ended with wishing the last 10 years didn't happen.
i'm waiting for the ego vegeta vs black freeza and it ends with vegeta screaming with tears in his eyes after doing exactly what beerus told him with letting go and him finally being able to move on "i'm going to bury you where you belong! in my past!" as he hakai final flashes them from existence.
People saying Vegeta deserved to beat Frieza instead of Goku doing it.... Heck; Piccolo (especially with Nail fusion) deserved to take on Frieza more than Goku did. Even Dende deserved a shot at Frieza in front of Goku. Goku had zero ties with Frieza to the point Toriyama had to force in a single panel of Bardock in the original manga just to give something. Even Krillin should have higher priority than Goku.

For starters, throwing out Super Saiyan God and just giving them Super Saiyan with cotton blue hair, SSG was a unique form that Goku couldn't even really control and now it's JUST another form. Then bringing Frieza back and deciding he's now as powerful as actual god power, just because he did some training. Well, gee, I didn't know it was THAT easy to get on the level of the freaking deities. Then Beerus says there are fighters in other universes even stronger than him but, unless he's talking about the angels, that got retconned fast because he's apparently the strongest of the destroyer gods. Where Battle of Gods felt like it opened the doors for something new and grander, Resurrection of F feels purely made for nostalgia.
This made me realize that DBS origionally started out as a 1 off movie. Like with most DBZ movies this one seemed extra connanical where fans have to option to believe the events of the movie really happened in canon but the movie itself doesn't really align but who cares. And then they just made a whole series based on this 1 off movie continuity. It be like if they made a whole series that grew out of the bojack movie or tree of life goku turles.
I'm perfectly satisfied with the way ROF ended honestly. Anybody who read the manga knows that Goku killing Frieza is something that was meant to happen in the main timeline. But Future Trunks jumped in and altered History by killing Mecha Frieza and King Cold before Goku did who in fact stated that he intended to kill Frieza and his father once he reached Earth with the use of Instant Transmission. And Trunks actually agreed that his interference wasn't necessary on paper.
I think it’s funny how so many UA-camrs like to shit on GT and and also on resurrection of F knowing damn well at the time of GT ending, your favorite forms were SS4 Goku and Gogeta and then subsequently SSB Goku and Vegeta and were meat riding hard as hell when we were given new material only to come back years later and act like they weren’t doing tricks on it. 😂
Honestly I feel like Battle of Gods was better than Resurrection F, but I don't think Resurrection F is the worst DBZ movie. In my opinion Bio Broly was the worst movie. Resurrection F is still entertaining to a degree, however one last DBZ movie should happen. Do a movie that explores a story we don't know much about, like the nameless namekian, or do a movie about the first ever super saiyan god. I think being that they're continuing on with the god powers they should do a movie about the original super saiyan god. The problem is if they did do that then they would probably just make it a Dragon Ball Super movie.
Yea to be honest I’m hindsight I think it’s super lazy for them to have brought freeza back this far into the power progression and then have him catch up with only 4 months of training, I have a similar problem with them bringing brolly back, I like the change in character but it doesn’t make sense for him to be that powerful.
Here is my opinion, I definitely liked both the movie and the super arc, but I am also one of those people who agrees. As much as I love Goku and the rivalry between those two, Vegeta to this day, has not gotten his revenge against freeza, and I honestly think that’s messed up. You said it perfectly, that man made this guy’s life a living hell for literal decades, now yes he did pulverize that dude pretty good, but Goku already got his kill in, it’s Vegeta’s turn. If you ask me, he deserves it way more than Goku does anyways. I know that you could technically take it back even further to how the planet was destroyed, and it was prophesied in a way for Goku to be the one to end him, but even if you do that that prophecy already came through.
Actually, Trunks had the honor of killing Frieza previously with neither Goku or Vegeta ever doing so before RoF. Though I do agree that Goku didn't have much reason to kill Frieza beside Frieza being the bad guy while Vegeta has plenty of hate for everything Frieza has done to himself and Saiyans as a whole.

Honestly, I see what you mean, and personally I would love to see the DBZ series adapted into new movies. You know how Path To Power re-did the original beginning of Dragonball but with new and better art? Well they could do something like that for each DBZ saga, except it's a full-length high budget movie. Because yeah I know it's a super long show, but even Kai has bits that are super slow and take way too long. Every saga could easily fit into a movie IMO. And it would be some nice cinematic events to introduce the original DBZ story to kids.
- Vegeta is the saiyan prince and killing his saiyan subject is far less forgiving than Frieza killing saiyans so Vegeta killing Frieza would make no sense for a revenge aspect. Also Goku did all the work. We already saw it with ginyu force with Vegeta stealing undeserved kills. Not needed again. Rof also wasn't that bad to me. I prefer ssb to ssg. - Theres nothing wrong with how Z ended. Goku just went to train. Something he does all the time.

Actually I will never think of Battle of Gods are Resurrection f as anything to do with the original framework of Dragon Ball Z these two movies to me or Side Story. Just because you have the original creator behind them does not make it part of the original framework I know how Dragon Ball Z ended it ended with Goku flying off to train Uub. But with all that said I did think that the Battle of Gods was a good decent movie even though I did not like it as well as the older Dragon Ball Z movies which introduced me to new rock bands any overall violence in Gore that came with the older movies I can remember seeing those bone crushing blows actually count for something because I actually cringed thanking man that had to hurt. I mean when Gohan as a Super Saiyan 2 during the Bojack movie rip through Bojacks Gang with extreme violence are seeing Broly from Dragon Ball Z destroying the Z Fighters even giving Vegeta near heart attack man those were Classic Movies. But they did give it a nice try with the Battle of Gods but I actually thought that Resurrection f was utterly horrible in every way they should have just came up with a new villain rather than bringing back some old villain that it already expired in the franchise. And it should have been a Vegeta and Frieza fight right out of the gate instead they relegated Vegeta do this killing off Captain Ginyu a character that Gohan should have been able to have handled but I'm not going to go down that road right now of how much they disgrace Gohan. Mean to me that was just such a slap in the face when because of Frieza not beerus because beerus wasn't even a thought in the franchise up until Battle of Gods but because of Frieza Vegeta lost everything his chance to become King Vegeta he lost his entire Empire and even his pride back on Planet Namek have been Stripped Away From Him to whom more than Vegeta deserve to take the win. In Super Saiyan blue was just introduced way too early so it really lost a lot of my respect for the transformation and there was never any wins with it yeah no killing Frieza some fans would consider a win but really was it and we all know later on down the line Super Saiyan blue is made out to be a joke buy beans like jiren kale and Goku black. But I guess honestly I will always consider GT to be the official continuation of the franchise not only because Akira Toriyama himself stated that fans consider it so or a Side Story but also because of his involved in it he did many of the concept art for it and even promoted it and it made more sense on a timeline sense. But yeah Dragon Ball super I did have some high hopes for but after the Battle of Gods it really was carved up into the propeller blades Hartley's that's the way I felt about it not only because of bad character development and bad writing but also the art and its earlier stages was absolutely atrocious compare the Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Z or GT. But these are my thoughts on the matter.
I just think that the black Frezia arc needs to just come around just so Vegeta can get his come back even though I'm not a Vegeta fan he does have his moments like how he gave up his life in vain for everyone because buu was made entirely of bubble gum in a sense
So I agree with resurrection f being a sad pay off for the Z moniker. They did vegeta super dirty ( no pun intended there) They did Gohan pretty dirty. If they would’ve just let vegeta kill frieza I would’ve liked it much more. I enjoy the movie. Going to go back and watch it again because I haven’t for awhile and want to see if it holds up. Something that would be really cool to give us a proper Z send off is a frieza black movie as dragonball Z Call it dragonball z black (not good with names) Have vegeta kill frieza. Like the final blow. Just so vegeta can be the prince (king) he rightfully is and revenge his lost race. A hakai would be dope, but for this maybe his final atonement in ultra ego. Like when he was majin he dies. But it’s for everything. His family, friends, race, shit even beerus. Say frieza finds out killing supreme Kai offs beerus. That’s the start of the movie. Have him wished back so it doesn’t mess up the actual end of z Shit give him a hakai final atonement in his ultra ego form. Have it be a universal feat where to pull it off safely say the z warriors have to make an energy field to contain the final hakai atonement. And he ends frieza by ending himself. Have say something like to trunks along the lines of “you’re the prince of saiyans now” (You know because he never called himself a king) Like he does this move knowing he probably won’t be wished back. Have goku and maybe Gohan try to convince him not to do it. Use fusion etc. And give vegeta a “final” huge pride send off. Not reverting like he did with majin. But his pride/love for everything he has become. A family man, saiyan and earthling
Personally, in Resurrection F, I more disliked Goku being jobbed by a friggen little raygun. Seriously? I don't care how off guard Goku was, no little handheld laser could hurt Goku enough to take him out of battle. It would be like taking a handgun and pointing it at a tank. I don't care if that tank is shut off, no driver. You're not punching a hole in it with one bullet. Now, yes, Vegeta did get screwed with the plot. If we reversed things and Frieza blew up the Earth while Goku was doing his nice guy speech thing, then Whis rewinds time and Vegeta murders him, we'd all cheer. But using a toy gun looking thing to puncture Goku? C'mon now. Goku took three bullets from Bulma as a 12 year old at their first meeting without a scratch! AFTER being hit by her car! This was before the whole of Dragonball. So a laser blast to a superhuman that has done nothing but train to god level for 50 years? Sigh...
That was poor writing, vegetas energy blast gets completely cancelled when it was already ready to blast just because frieza yells go to hell without me. Then Friezas blasts cancels when goku yells FRIEZZAAA!!! Then he stays there a watches
The single best ending in all of Dragon Ball is GT. I don't care if you like GT or not, that ending gave Goku the send off he deserved and was so respectful of the original source material. 'End of Z' was a bit of a let down and Super has done nothing but spit in the face of the franchise.

Actually I will never think of Battle of Gods are Resurrection f as anything to do with the original framework of Dragon Ball Z these two movies to me or Side Story.
Just because you have the original creator behind them does not make it part of the original framework I know how Dragon Ball Z ended it ended with Goku flying off to train Uub.
But with all that said I did think that the Battle of Gods was a good decent movie even though I did not like it as well as the older Dragon Ball Z movies which introduced me to new rock bands any overall violence in Gore that came with the older movies I can remember seeing those bone crushing blows actually count for something because I actually cringed thanking man that had to hurt.
I mean when Gohan as a Super Saiyan 2 during the Bojack movie rip through Bojacks
Gang with extreme violence are seeing Broly from Dragon Ball Z destroying the Z Fighters even giving Vegeta near heart attack man those were Classic Movies.
But they did give it a nice try with the Battle of Gods but I actually thought that Resurrection f was utterly horrible in every way they should have just came up with a new villain rather than bringing back some old villain that it already expired in the franchise.
And it should have been a Vegeta and Frieza fight right out of the gate instead they relegated Vegeta do this killing off Captain Ginyu a character that Gohan should have been able to have handled but I'm not going to go down that road right now of how much they disgrace Gohan.
Mean to me that was just such a slap in the face when because of Frieza not beerus because beerus wasn't even a thought in the franchise up until Battle of Gods but because of Frieza Vegeta lost everything his chance to become King Vegeta he lost his entire Empire and even his pride back on Planet Namek have been Stripped Away From Him to whom more than Vegeta deserve to take the win.
In Super Saiyan blue was just introduced way too early so it really lost a lot of my respect for the transformation and there was never any wins with it yeah no killing Frieza some fans would consider a win but really was it and we all know later on down the line Super Saiyan blue is made out to be a joke buy beans like jiren kale and Goku black.
But I guess honestly I will always consider GT to be the official continuation of the franchise not only because Akira Toriyama himself stated that fans consider it so or a Side Story but also because of his involved in it he did many of the concept art for it and even promoted it and it made more sense on a timeline sense.
But yeah Dragon Ball super I did have some high hopes for but after the Battle of Gods it really was carved up into the propeller blades Hartley's that's the way I felt about it not only because of bad character development and bad writing but also the art and its earlier stages was absolutely atrocious compare the Dragon Ball Dragon Ball Z or GT.
But these are my thoughts on the matter.

I just think that the black Frezia arc needs to just come around just so Vegeta can get his come back even though I'm not a Vegeta fan he does have his moments like how he gave up his life in vain for everyone because buu was made entirely of bubble gum in a sense

Not reverting like he did with majin.

Personally, in Resurrection F, I more disliked Goku being jobbed by a friggen little raygun. Seriously? I don't care how off guard Goku was, no little handheld laser could hurt Goku enough to take him out of battle. It would be like taking a handgun and pointing it at a tank. I don't care if that tank is shut off, no driver. You're not punching a hole in it with one bullet.
Now, yes, Vegeta did get screwed with the plot. If we reversed things and Frieza blew up the Earth while Goku was doing his nice guy speech thing, then Whis rewinds time and Vegeta murders him, we'd all cheer. But using a toy gun looking thing to puncture Goku? C'mon now. Goku took three bullets from Bulma as a 12 year old at their first meeting without a scratch! AFTER being hit by her car! This was before the whole of Dragonball. So a laser blast to a superhuman that has done nothing but train to god level for 50 years? Sigh...

The single best ending in all of Dragon Ball is GT. I don't care if you like GT or not, that ending gave Goku the send off he deserved and was so respectful of the original source material. 'End of Z' was a bit of a let down and Super has done nothing but spit in the face of the franchise.
Unpopular opinion. I like GT. No it doesn’t have the same charm as Z. But I still liked it.
