- This Level Is Unplayable.... Dragonball Z budokai Tenkaichi 2 is an amazing game but this saga is so bad! so of course I had to fight him anyway! Will gohan goten and trunks and everybody else be able to beat hirudagarn anyway!?

Funny enough, this was the first DBZ game I've ever played, and it was also my first introduction to the sheer brokenness that was SSJ4 Gogeta. You could tell just by playing with him that he was intended to be the unofficial "cheat code" for this game.

Sounds and looks like a skill issue.
After months of playing he's still pretty bad at the game. If he went into training/tutorial mode and listened to the game explain how to play, he could probably get good

Just for anyone who wants to know: Gohan in this game has Great Saiyanman as a transformation but is locked from super saiyan and ultimate Gohan is his separate character. (so had Doto detransformed in great Saiyanman he would have been able to transform into SSj 1 And SSJ 2). As DBZ BT2 is one of my favorite games of all time, this weird "transformation" that the programmers put in is something Alot of people don't know about.
Yes this saga Sucked since alot of characters couldn't fight back fully and alot of the damage Hirudagarn does, plus His health bar was almost Maxed out and in normal battle (outside of story) is really high too.
1:16 what you described with the art is prob because they made newer art for this game since it's the 2nd one, but there's still a lot of art from the first one bc asset dumping was the only way they could pump out so many games in that era
"This game is unplayable, how are you ever supposed to beat this!" -Doto fighting a Lv. 199 character while being Lv. 08 with no items and not leveling up his characters ever if they aren't apart of the main cast.
You could say Doto forgot to Balance Tapion's stats ( He only buffed HP and not Damage or Defense ).
Honestly it would have been so easy if he would use his super moves but I guess his Saiyan pride got the best of him. Brave slash and super explosive wave melts him like butter
When I saw that title I immediately assumed it was Hirudegarn's fault. By far the most unfair giant to play against, especially how buff this guy is in his story mode.
You can give the Great Saiyaman Super saiyan via item fusion. And fusing the characters "Potara" with a Super saiyan "Potara". That's what some of those drops you see are for. Like "Hatred of Goku" merges with something to unlock Legendary Ssj etc.

So a few things doto could have done to make the hirudegarn fights easy.
Could have spam great saiyaman super explosive wave or power down to base gohan and go ssj
Use and combo into tapion’s second super attack which is unblockable
Last one is a fun fact, it’s never really said but attacking hirudegarn back is his weak spot which will do major damage.
Just my 2 cents is all. Honestly i enjoy seeing doto struggle with the cpu by doing the same thing and expecting different results.

Nah you are right with the name, it's Gaan, it's the Japanese onomatopeia used for "jaw dropping" cause Hiruta had that reaction the first time he saw the design and they named the monster after him, for that. Hiruta Gaan - Hirudegaan

The "R" it's there because in the English adaptation they add one when there's an elongated vowel, same thing with Zarbon, there should be no R but a elongated A sound. There are instances where it's fine to do so, for example Freezer in Japanese has an elongated "e" sound and a elongated "ah" sound (as if it was Freezaa), so it's OK if the transliteration adds an R at the end. In fact, Freeza is spelled with a short "ah" sound at the end and why it is correct to transliterate it as Freeza and not Freezer. (Although they went with Frieza because some smart-ass are convinced that names and surnames should never sound like actual words, despite the fact that that's what they are... Ask anyone called Smith, or Violet, or Fredrick - which means lord of peace. - Same thing with Launch... Her actual name is Lunch)

Wrath of the dragon movie scenario in BT3 is pretty boring
At least this game gave it proper context and cutscenes for it.
There was a sword slash attack Tapion could use that we just spammed and we won.
So, small tip that I remember from way back in the day. In the Great Saiyaman fight against Hirudegarn the trick as Gohan to drop into base and then go SSJ2.

This man has been waiting for the campaign to end ever since the end of the Buu saga
This game was one of my childhood games i used to play, i even managed to beat it as a child at least once
BT3 does a lot of the heavy lifting for the player.
BT2 will lift you only to drop you on its knee and break your back. It does not give a fuck. If you refuse to interact with its systems, learn how it works and play its game, it will not hesitate in making you miserable.
BT3's story mode might've been a lot more cinematic, but BT2's definitely got a whole lot more of a game, and especially RPG, feeling to it.
Doto is the type of guy to not use his other special move, despite it being better by every metric.
I just played this last week, got boxed in hard, but the only thing keeping me going was knowing I get to watch you do this too
Idk if Doto has realized it yet but all super armor is beaten by transformation levels,
I think Base form it takes a full combo (5~ hits) to beat super armor, Super Saiyan it takes 4 hits, SS2 takes 3~ then SS3 and SS4 fully beat it.
Ultimate Gohan in BT2 I think is SS3 level but in BT3 he's between SS2 and SS3

I Disagree. Tenkaichi 2 And 3 Are Probably The Best In The Franchise. 2 You Could Do Secret Techniques That They Didn't Put Back In Tenkaichi 3. But 3 Added They Ien Secret Techniques. I Really Wished We Got A Remastered Version With Sparking Zero. 😢

Like here; you'll need to Buy a bunch of different Z-Evolution Items and start Equipping them to your Lv.8 Characters! Like Hirudegarn, the GT Saga is also gonna be very (unnecessarily) difficult otherwise!
Also, you need to start checking each Characters' Moveset! Like Great Saiyaman had Super Explosive Wave - which would've made his Fight with Hirudegarn *much* easier! Same with Super Saiyan 3 Goku during the Janemba Fights last Video!

When I realized I could revert Great Saiyaman back to Adult Gohan, the Hirudegarn fight was easy.
I figured out that on my own when I was a kid and won easily when I turned SSJ2.
i remember back when i was a kid that Tapion was the first thing about DBZ that i was confused about. It was when I was trying to figure out how/why Trunks got a sword. Some places said it was called the Z-Sword, others said it was Tapion's sword; and I was just like "Now who the heck is Tapion?!" I just left it at that, so this is actually my first ever experience to anything Tapion, and even Hirudegarn!
Knowing Rhyme, he'll remember how much Doto hates Hirudagarn and he will use him if they have a BT4 World Tournament showdown just to annoyed him.
Also, it's weird there's not that many "What-if" stories.
But the BT3 campaign was easy as hell.
