- Do you love landscaping? Have you ever considered it as a career? Brian Linson turned his passion for lawn care into a $700K/year landscaping business-and so can you, if you follow the advice in this video.
Here's the link to Part 2: • How to Start $58K/Mont...
Brian founded BL Landscapes six years ago based on his 25 years of experience building and maintaining landscapes in the Pacific Northwest. The company has grown consistently year after year, and is on target to do so again in 2020 with sales nearing $800K.
One big key to their success is their reputation in the community. They have an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and were voted Best of Whidbey for 4 years straight, testament to their popularity in the region.
In this interview, we talk to Brian about starting a lawn care business. He’ll tell us how much it costs to start a landscaping company, what equipment you’ll need, and how he’s grown his crew to accommodate increasing demand.
Delivering quality work is crucial to success as a landscaping company, but keeping costs low is just as important for profits. BL Landscapes uses just one crew and that helps keep margins high. We’ll find out how Brian manages his team to maximize both morale and productivity and keep his business on track.
Even if you’re not in landscaping, Brian’s entrepreneurial advice can help people across industries manage their business better.

I've noticed a definite uptick in people outsourcing their lawn care in my neighborhood the past couple of years. Looks like a trend that is only going to grow!

Great business tips.
Glad you think so!
my pops been running a small landscaping business and I've been working with him since I was 10. broke my foot recently doing something radical. I had this passion make the company bigger with more work but figuring out if thats the best thing long term. heard from many people to not to labor work for the rest of my life. should i go collage and go into a field of something or should I work to expand the business and or branch out doing other stuff. I would appreciate some feed back as im stuck in this moment
This will be a tough personal decision only you can make Pedro. Have you made lists of the Pros and Cons for each decision yet?
@@UpFlip Yeah I decided since I really won’t be able to sustain the outside work for long like I used to be able to because I got metal in my left leg. Im gonna have to learn a complete new skill and go ahead and jump into the tech field. eventually, I wanna start or have a business in long run I’m trying to be financially set for other great opportunities that arise. 💯 it’s not gonna be easy for sure but, with work ethic and determination anything can be accomplished
Working for yourself is better than being a corporate and government tax slave. Let it sink it, and put out the hard work
@@eskha12 facts but you need income it's a real goal to have a business that's what I will strive for learning now and applying everything I know later. you can really dive and create anything that can create successful income once you know what it is it's only moving forward and tryna gain more profit as possible
@@pedrocarachure12 I completely agree. Need that experience to become a professional. After that, pursue your dreams, not someone else's!
Great guide! are you video editing yourself?
We have an editing team.
Funny because we have a hard time finding landscapers that are available. They are all booked out for weeks or months.
That's crazy! Sounds like a lot of work and demand.
Thats what people say but for me its hard to find clients! i have been in business for 2 years and later in the summer we get so slow its not even funny!
what is the size of the enclosed trailer.

Ive been doing landscaping for about 3 years, 1 year being crew leader. I think im finally ready to start on my own next year. Ill have most essential tools im just scared about income. Hard work pays off though. One day🤙

Awesome gonna start a landscaping business next summer if it's God's will
You can do it Jim Jones.😀💪Have you started a business plan?
@@UpFlip well I get my license in June and then I was trying to get a truck after that and get some tools to get started but small and then I'm trying to grow from there
I have a Business super Lawn care idaho
What's up it's not that easy like you say you have to find the customers and if they like to do business with you then you gotta deal.
Who said it was easy? If it was, everyone would be doing it.
Really appreciate your videos but if you could do without the trash edm music with the b-roll that would be awesome! It takes away from the video.
Do you think there should be no music at all Life of T?
@@UpFlip no music would be much better - it takes away from the genuine feel you produce while interviewing these folks - IMO - I find the music to be way louder than the audio of the actual video and find myself adjusting audio on your videos. I feel like it takes away from the message the channels trying to convey. Just some constructive criticism - I’ve watched at least 25-30 of your videos since I found the channel! Hope it doesn’t come off as a dig - I appreciate your content.
Black uniforms for a landscaper ?
We are in the Pacific Northwest. The black is fine for our area!
I don’t even make 30 thousand a year let alone 50k a month! Teach me your secrets!!!
Keep grinding
Open your own business, you should read Rich Dad Poor Dad its a really good book for money making education.
great content but damn that's a lot of ads. A bit greedy if you ask me and makes it hard to watch
Sorry about that! We’ll tone it down.
58k a month takes time bro. It don’t happen overnight.
Yeah he started this in 1996
C👀L!
Not a single complaint in 6 years??? I have to lol at that.
that was my first thought. haha no business has ever run for 6 years and not gotten a single complaint. At that point I lost complete interest in the video.
Probably was using the definition of a customer complaint very loosely.
not 1 complaint in 6 yrs? the reviews determined that was a lie. successful guy though 👍🏽
Thanks for watching Duhron! Would you ever consider going into this type of industry?
@@UpFlip not this necessarily, but agriculture
