I love how honest this man is about not up selling people
24 minutes. My first season this year, it seems like I'm getting a lot more one-time landscaping work than mowing and reaccuring work. Thanks for advice Mike!
This video is gold! I’m not even in the landscaping business, but you gave me so many ideas! Thanks a lot!
Thanks Mike! It’s been fun getting my first customers
I’ve been in business since 2018 but took a big hold on my company has I was really young an didn’t know what I was doing at the time an now I’m back an up an going full force for 2023 season.! I’ll have to say a 35 maybe 34 minutes 20 minutes of mowing an 15 mins of trimming
I got blessed with my situation but at the same time I am a still a newcomer and lawn service it’s been three years since I’ve been running this business I definitely felt like I had a lot of downs then ups but once I got it leveled out to how I wanted it easy work💯
25 mins mike. I just started my landscape maintenance business this year, info is gold thanks
This information was priceless, thank you
36 minutes. I'm 16 years old in my first season of business. Thanks so much for the great advice!
im also 16 but im going into my 2nd season. good luck to ya 🤙🤙
@@vorcie9794 Good luck to you too bro
@@reggiesvlogsandmore9400 how’s it been going
29 minutes is my guess. Getting back into the yard care game after being out of it for 2 years, thank you for all the content you are a great resource and I am grateful for all the information you share!
How's your business doing JT? Do you have google business profile( old google my business)?
36 budgeted minutes. 18 for a 2-man crew. Love the videos Mike!
29 minutes. Got a handful of clients my first 100, most were temporary though. Still have my very first customer I had 4 years later though!
28 minutes. I just love seeing that ramp rack in action!
Excellent advice, thanks for sharing! My guess is 40 minutes for a solo operator because there is a lot of trimming.
Great video, 52 minutes for 1 person start to finish. Thanks
31 Minutes. Just started my own Lawn Care business this year in New Zealand. Been watching for a minute! Thanks for all your dedication to making quality content for noobs like myself. Cheers
I'm in NZ and started in November last year. Has been rewarding, stressful and at times I really doubt myself. These Americans are funny though, big truck, two ride on mowers and it's their first year. Mike was the first American I've seen with a pushie.
@@sandorclegane3658 I'm in NZ too. Did you go franchise or independent? How have you been getting most of your customers?
Hows that going?
Keep it coming Mike ✊🏿
This is great advice for customers.
35 minutes, first time watching video. I just started and only have 4 yards. Which I got from word of mouth. Thanks
Great info and tactics. Thank you
Hey mike ! I just registered my business name so I’m working my way up to get my lawn business up and running.. I been watching your videos and writing down info .. love it awesome job !!
Sorry my son uses my UA-cam .. my name is Michael
35 minutes, I am just getting into lawn care after doing little jobs here and there for the last 5 years. Finally got my business license and am doing everything legit!
Salute for real
38 min . Currently have about 30 customers would love these door Hangers to get me to the next level !
thank you for this info mike!
I am going from 50 to 25 costumers next year. Not doing $50.00 cuts in 2022 anymore.
Got handfull of $100 cuts and will be focusing on them and for the rest of them will have $80.00 minimum.
Wish me luck
I'm 16 and think about starting, how do u price the the lawns and should I get an LLC before I start?
@@216_matt i don't think you can have an llc in your own name at 16 pricing depends on a lot of factors. Wouldnt go below $40 point blank period tho. Even $50 is kinda dicey unless theyre right on top of each other and small, flat lawns
My wife answers the phone.
I cut 55 lawns a week.
$ 45 average cut.
I use a 4 cylinder Ford Transit Connect with solar panels on the roof charging my Makita and Milwaukee batteries for my electric mowers and lawn care tools.
No gas or maintenance for my mowers etc.
No office.
No rent.
Work by myself so no employee hassels.
Good money making business.
Do you go through a lot of batteries?
1 hour for one guy to C.T.B. You break down actually how much yard your cutting, then how long each section takes with what machines. Great videos.
Love the help . Does it matter if you live on an island to apply all of this !
You guys is a landscaping guru
Great video! Good info.
I was wondering how many lawns do you think I should do after school? I have 13 customers right now and 12 years old. Love your videos mike and learned so much from you.
Thats awsome! I suggest hiring someone trustworthy to do them for you!
I have 10 customers now I’m going to 100 by mid June 👍
Loved the video!
2:59 Always remember to wear safety glasses!
Great video mike! I’m at 60mowing yards (30 of them are for another lawn company on contract) I’m a one man operation and man is it hard! The season just ended here in Kentucky and I am looking to grow to 100 customers next year and have a full time employee!! I don’t have a website or a fb page all word of mouth.. does anyone have any tips that has been where I’m at and surpassed it??
Hey mike I’m starting out slowly I just have a trimmer and basic clean up tools no blower yet . I have tree pole trimmer as well . Just the video I need to see what I need to do for some first customers
Eddm is genius wish i knew that before !!
33 minutes, been doing it for three years most my properties are big cemeteries and Farmsteads.
I think my crew of 2 would have that cut and trimmed in about 20 minutes max. Long late but I'm curious how it went!
Do you have a recommendation on a good VA? We have 64 customers and most properties are quite large so most of the time I have to be out in the field or doing estimates so I miss calls pretty often or take at most a day to answer emails. I would like to have someone pick up calls and seers emails quickly in order to have more peace of mind.
Thank you in advance
Great advice
Thank you so much man, just got my tenth today
LETSGOOOOOOO
what do you do in the winter?
Jus restarted my company 10/30/23, and have 10 clients so far, and 6 of em, is monthly or biweekly, Vegas is crazy we have no lawns, but still make money some other way, it’s weird not worrying about mowing now days lol
Thank u mike, I appreciate your knowledge
Thank you
Thank you my friend for the informative video. I will guess 43 minutes....💪💪💪
27 minutes is my guess. I haven't really started a business yet, only had a couple clients, but im looking to keep getting my feet wet and learning much more from your videos, much like this one, so I am well equipped for the task.
Thanks for the videos, I've learned alot from you.
I would feel cheeky to ask my customers if I could put a sign in there garden, I dont think they would appreciate it.
Thanks for the content, I'm from England.
Oh I guess 45 mins
I don’t ask I just put it.
Get some landscape safety glasses and gloves. Mail is expensive. You would be better putting a magnetic sign for your truck. Zillow is a great way to get an estimate to customers. It has both the square footage of house and property. Basic math will get you square footage of yard work. Don’t forget applying for biz credit cards. When I started mine, I couldn’t get a biz loan for 6 months. A year later, I received $1.4m in biz credit. It’s the easiest way to expand. Also, on your website, get video customer testimonials.
Depends. Time of day . After or before lunch . Weather . Id say 28 and a half minutes
My guess is 32 minutes! Great tips even for experienced owners! Thanks for sharing!
Hello Mr Andes. This is Phelps. I'm currently at 13 mowing customers with a goal of 40 this season. So I am going to start putting signs in the yards of the customers I have and do the door hangers. But what type of sign should I do.
For example: some fertilizer companies near me put a small sign in the yard they service and some put bigger signs. Which do you think is best for getting more clients?
Should they be a certain shape?
Should the sign have my phone number and business name the same size? Or have the name or number larger than the other.
Thanks for reading and enjoy your day
You should use your brain.
I've been mowing full time for 4 years. I had to quit my business last year due to some health issues. I'm starting back again this year. Let's see how long it takes to build my business back again
how’s it going
32 minutes. Also depending on your demographic, make sure you purchase permits to solicit before knocking door to door. A $30 permit to solicit is cheap insurance against a $500 fine
Better to ask for forgiveness then permission
@@kennethalynn the standard response to that in the area I live in is ignorance is not an excuse to break the law
@@benblazek3305 That's true where I live too. But I've been doing door hangers for 8 years. At least 50% of the people that have "no solicitation" on their door turn into a customer.
@@kennethalynn same here but I send mailers to the people with no solicitation signs. I have the kinda luck where if I step an inch across the line I get crucified for it. $1 for a mailer and postage is nothing to me anyway
The Constitution is our permit .
Nice video!
45 minutes. Looking to start my own lawn care company
If there’s 2 people on a crew and it takes them 15 minutes to do a yard it would take a single person double + 5 minutes at least because while one person cuts one trims then they blow down either together or the rider blows down and it shouldn’t take longer then 5 or so minutes to blow down a basic house.
42 mins. Hey mike, what site is best to use to track my expense and income. I use word right now. But it’s kinda of wack. So I was wondering if there was something better?
What advice would you have for a small guy in a rural area. We have used small signs. We have a fairly large area we try to cover because we are in a rural area… it’s called Quinton al.
I’m not as experienced but lived in a fairly rural area and there are go to places everyone in your town goes. Think a certain food place and gas station or the one entertainment thing there. Ask if you can post flyers there or even pay for a big banner or something. Or sponsor some type of event at it so your name and cards are all over the place. Make friends with a restaurant owner and maybe get your cards put at the counter and in every to go order and in turn you do monthly gift card giveaways to one of your recurring customers to the restaurant to bring him business.
It’s harder to just pass by you on your route if it’s spread out so you have to get brand visibility. Just talk to everyone you see and be kind and known for your friendliness and excellent work. Word of mouth spreads in small towns fast.
Im 15 with my own lawn business, ive it since last summer and i had a decent amount of clients but i started losing them recently i just need to think of a pitch for door to door. Can someone help?
I appreciate the video. My guess is 38 miy
42 mins, 21 minutes for this two man crew.
Hi i am having troube getting the first ten customers , I tryed going door to door and most people never ended up calling me what would you recomend doing ?
Facebook groups, local announcement pages (they might be called different in English, but it's not my first language :) )
39min Just getting started
22:34 Min for the lawn
You should get a time cutter
A zero turn mower
Half the time for lawn mowing
What part of the year do you do this advertising?
Any time
Let me know about my lawn striping?
Mike, how can I speak with you on the phone about something extremely confidential?
22 minutes for a total of 44 budget hours
And I have 25 customer in the first two months of business
Budgeted : 110m completed : 40m
60 minutes ! From 🇵🇷
42 minutes to mow trim edge and blow
I just got started in lawn care business imma say 36 min.
I'm going to say 45 minutes for single worker. 25 minutes for 2 man crew
Is he seriously squinting while he trims hoping that nothing flies into his eyes??? It was hard to listen to what you were saying when a guy is being so reckless with field safety. That being said, 39 minutes for 1 guy.
Those are called safety squints. Osha certified
I do that I don't want more little eocks to get inside my eyeball and loosing eyesight of 1 eye
@@milesb338 hahahahhahahahah good one
Had to be his first day 😆
@@milesb338 😂😂😂😂
27 Minutes I had 18 in my first 100 days of business
So I started my company kind of late in the spring season and was curious if since I missed the "spring rush" if there are still people even actively looking for service? I just don't want to put a bunch of my marketing dollars to waste.
People are always looking for service because many people are procrastinators and wait until June to call for a recurring service. Well at least in North Carolina
Defenitly a lot of people save money and end up waiting a little bit later. You can just buy maybe 200 cards and toss them out. Make some flyers and print them out
I dont want to door knock it seem bugging for pepole and all but doot flyer heck yes
I just paid for the entire package from lawn care media and I can't successfully edit the templates for my business. Are there tutorial videos or something that I can watch?
Yes the tutorial videos are on the website… for Photoshop. If you still can’t figure it out there is a contact email on there as well ✅👍🏻
@@MikeAndes perfect! Thank you!
If I tried to put a yard sign out front of one of my clients I'd probably lose them all. Snobby area but great money in it 🥳
2 man crew should take about 20-25 minutes the only big section of grass is betweent the pool and house and that looks pretty dead so the time spent there shouldnt be much
It take 30min weekly or 38 every two weeks
38 minutes budgeted, finished in 41.
43 minutes and 30 second but the way see you at spencer lawn care pro event
Nugget at 6:46 mark. 5000 post cards should get you very busy. 🙏
It's not hard to get 100 people in 10 days if you mow and spread lawn signs.. the issue in this business is not getting clients. It's getting employees.
48 minutes Steve, ("GOOD ANSWER!")
Show us 48 Minutes!
DING!
One time when we knocked on they said no they had somebody I said you care if I give you a quote if something ever fall through gave him a quote and got the job
45-5min
all push mowed plus a lot of weed whipping probably around 45 mins for 1 person
1hr 23min 45sec
26 minutes for one person to properly service this lawn cut ?
the problem that I have is every house that I door knock is that they either enjoy mowing or they already have a company
33 minute. 🙌🏼
43 min. Thomas
Hi Mike, 42 minutes
25 min. but I'd fire the guy trimming without safety glasses
I put 400 business cards in surrounding subs n got TWO calls that one canceled a half hour before meeting n the other wanted me to tear out his entire yard n resod it in a week. Lol
Hahaha a flier is 10 cents min plain as f without mailing.
Goal is under 30 for a 2 man crew. So I say 28 minutes for the 2 crew to finish the job.
