Finally found a professional recorded tutorial where you know what you're talking about. This should be on Pluralsight. Thank you so much for this video. If I may add, I noticed you were having a hard time selecting your geometry for the car body. Before creating the tutorial, I'd recommend placing all specific car body objects into a group or in a layer set. Also, tapping "Q" on the keyboard would help you select objects easily. Cheers.
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus Of course. I have a car to render too. But I can use this same technic included the one you did with curvature to create good material for my project. Thanks.
love your channel learned a lot here, would really like to see how to make the front lights on :), oh, small tip in Arnold render setting i always uncheck auto-detect threads and keep 2 threads for smooth navigation while IPR rendering
Thank you for your comment, venomous. Love the cat profile pic! The real time render comes with arnold. Go to Arnold (top right menu) and select Render. It should open a window that shows real time rendering. Press the stop button to stop the render, and play when you are ready to render again. Hope this helps!
I have one question. Im modelling a steam locomotive. Do you think that the same car paint shader will be useful for the body of the locomotive? Or maybe it should be more metallic?
In maya 2018 i am using car paint texture to my lamborgini car that is not giving mee a realstic texture so how can i make a realstic texture by using car paint in maya ...... And how can i get aicarpaint texture in maya 2018 ..... Or what texture should i use car to get realstic car texture i am rendering my car in arnold
There was something wrong on me...When I assign new material and click arnold,I didn't find aiCarPaint.I used maya2018 students version.Isn't aiCarPaint is only available on maya2019?Or something problems?...(Thanks,if someone answer my question XD)
Nothing wrong! I am using Maya 2019. Try going into the Arnold Solid Angle website and download the most recent update. (maya doesn't do it automatically). I believe it will work for Maya 2018 :)

Thanks.
That's awesome! It's exciting to hear that you are combing knowledge together to produce your own results. Fantastic!
You must check thin walled in geometry menu for the glass shader to avoid the warp
Great tip! Thank you for mentioning it!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus You're welcome ! 😊 Keep it up your videos are great !
Actually the best way is to give thickness in real measures to the glasses (extrude).
Golden rule: everything has to be in real scale.
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus I just applied a coat and upped the IOR of that attribute. But I like the original poster's solution.
Much better than the other tutorials I've been looking at :D
Thanks for this video... I hadn't updated Arnold for Maya 2018 so I didn't know I didn't have the car paint shader... you rock!!
Awesome! Glad you found it, Christopher. :) Your cars are going to look awesome from now on!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus Thanks to you!

Wondering if you ever uploaded the model for this? I would love to use it with your permission of course.
You helped me alot thank you so much. ❤❤❤
Excellent tutorial and can I ask how exactly is your viewport rendering in real time? There must be a setting i'm missing here

Could we get a download for the car so we can follow along please? :) Looks amazing
gumroad.com/l/1920Vehicle you can download a model from here
That's a good idea Alice, but I have to clean it up first. It's a bit of a mess!

blue prints ?
can some body tell me ? how she is viewing real time render of car??
thank you
You are very welcome, Jishnu! Thank you for watching
Can you tip me how to do the reflectors of the lights? :)
What I did was just add a texture of a light from a real car, that way it faked it. I hope that helps!
@@AcademicPhoenixPlus neat trick captain! 😋😋 will do that!
Maam make a car on maya
how to update arnold ?
You'll need to either update Maya, or go to the Solid Angle website and update the render itself. hope that helps! www.arnoldrenderer.com/
