We’re Thomas and Sheena, food and travel fiends. We travel full time, hunting for the BEST local food in the world to showcase via our UA-cam videos. Food is a window into a country's culture and one of the most exciting ways to get to know a place.
We're all about eating what and where the locals eat. You won't find food that's been created merely to be social media worthy on here- no rainbow bagels, gold leaf soft serves- just honest food that tastes incredible.
From street food to mom and pop restaurants, we want to show you the best food we find on our travels.

Thanks so much. Loved filming this one. Cheers, Thomas
Off there in August with the wife and kids can't wait my 3rd time there and the kids first time. Watching this just makes me want to hurry through the year. Love the vids you guys are so easy to watch thanks.
Thanks so much Kirk! You guys must be so excited and so cool that you have the opportunity to take your kids. I reckon Japan would be one of the easiest places to visit with kids- it'll definitely be one of the countries we visit after the baby arrives and we resume travelling. Hope this series adds some new spots to your August eating itinerary! Thanks for watching. Cheers, Sheena
The fried cake must be good recall Mark Wiens munching it
Welcome to Japan, Tokyo :) I’m impressed that you guys try to read, write, speak Japanese. I hope Japanese people were nice & helpful to you in terms of food ordering. Anyways, looks yummy! Especially the yakitori wings!
Thanks so much Lily! Hahah key word being “try” 😆! We had such a great time in Tokyo- we always do 😄 Hope we can return soon. Thanks for watching and commenting! Cheers, Sheena
Great vid 😋👍
Yay! Thanks for watching Michael, so glad you enjoyed the series mate. Hope you’re having a great weekend. Cheers, Sheena
What a treat it is to sit down on a Sunday evening and have you two lovely people bring me a selection of Japanese street food. Loved the Octopus, Meat cutlet and the last restaurant with the skewered chicken that Thomas had. I'm sure that sort of pub could work here in New Zealand. Oh and the tempura place. I love broccoli and cauliflower tempura in particular. I am so loving this Japanese food tour and thanks so much for sharing .
Thanks so much for watching John! Izakaya in Japan are one of my favourite dining experiences- it's always a great vibe and everyone is always so relaxed- just out for a fun time with good food and drinks! So happy you enjoyed this series mate- hope you like what we have coming up! Have a great week. Cheers, Sheena
i love japan
Us too! Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena

I loved the free for all toppings! The best! Thanks for watching Lisa, hope you’re having a lovely day 💕 Cheers, Sheena
Glad you two are back on the road and traveling👍 With that being said, Japanese outdoor masking ended(although never mandated) a while back, and indoor masking(never mandated) will end on March 13. Hope to see you two maskless next time you visit Japan ;)
Awesome Jun, thanks for watching this series mate. We were aware there were no mask mandates but didn’t have a problem wearing masks if it made food vendors and other people around us more comfortable- especially as we were filming. Can’t wait to return to Japan- hopefully soon! Cheers, Sheena
Wonderful video. I lived in Japan as a little girl. Don't remember much but I do like the food. Congratulations on your expectated little one.
Hi Vicky, thanks so much for watching and we're so happy you liked it! Thanks for the well wishes too- we're both super excited for the baby's arrival and the adventure ahead! Have you been back to Japan since you left as a kid? It's such a fascinating place to travel- we love it. Hope you enjoy the rest of the series! Cheers, Sheena

@@Alina_Valentina 🤣🤣🤣
More hidden gems with great food! Being away from the touristy areas gives such a different impression. Thank you for that! The izakaya looked cozy and fun, and the dishes you ordered made my mouth water. So glad you got to go back to Japan.
Us too MsKestrela! That izakaya was great- the chicken skewers with the garlic miso paste smeared over them were particularly memorable! Thanks for watching this one and hope you like what we have coming up- USA content! Cheers, Sheena
Yummy...yummy...yummy ❤
So much deliciousness! Thanks for watching mate, hope you enjoyed this one. Cheers, Sheena

You started strong with takoyaki and I thought it couldn’t get better, but buy was I wrong!! Mouth watering here!!
😆😆😆 we didn’t have a dud meal/snack! Although we were totally stuffed by the end of the day! Thanks for watching mate, hope you enjoyed this one! Cheers, Sheena
Hi Thomas and Sheena I see lesta love seeing your videos pop up on my notifications. Loving the tempura veggies and the skewered meats 😍 great video as always
Aww thanks Angie! Omg those skewers, especially the chicken with that garlic miso paste smeared all over it were amazing! Thanks for watching mate, have a great week. Cheers, Sheena
My family will be in Tokyo next week, all those food looks delicious. This will be our 3rd time in Japan. Its too bad some of these places don't have an English menu.
Awesome Calle! You guys will have such a great time! We find google translate is pretty helpful when it comes to menus and it's kinda fun to take a punt and point to random items and see what shows up hahaha. Thanks for watching and have a great trip! Cheers, Sheena
You're living my best Tokyo life in this video for sure! A perfect street food crawl. My mouth is watering! I'll take a double order of all of the above, please. My Japanese friend, Hiroko, once told me that the smell of bonito for Japanese is analogous to how Americans react when they smell hamburgers. 🤣🙌😘
😂 I love that! And it makes sense 😆 Omg I want to eat everything all over again. It was all so good. I love Japan so much- everywhere you turn there are great eats. Thanks for watching Michael, hope you’re having an awesome weekend mate 😘😘😘 Cheers, Sheena
ah I want to visit Japan so bad!
Hope you can get there one day soon mate- it’s such a special place to visit. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching Chandra! Cheers, Sheena
Sheena, there was a lady looked just like you in the Coopers Beach Four Square, Mangonui a few days ago. Was that you? I was too shy to ask. Cheers
Hey mate! Sure would have been. We live near by so we’re around the area a lot. Please do say hi if you see us again. Thanks so much for watching. Thomas
What she's got a turkey in the oven that's awesome news
😂😄 and the turkey is growing at a rapid pace! Thanks for watching Richard, hope you enjoyed this one. Cheers, Sheena
🤪🤪
Thanks for watching! Cheers, Sheena
I've seen you guys say this a few times now and I'm sure the locals appreciate it, but you guys keep saying "Oishii desu" before even eating the food. "oishii" means it taste good or you have eaten it before, so locals are probably like "but they haven't even touched it yet". If you want to say it "looks good" you say "oishisou".
Thanks for that Dayla 😄 this series was posted after we left Japan so I didn’t have a chance to correct myself as the videos had already been filmed. But I’ll know for our next visit! Cheers, Sheena
@@ChasingaPlate It's all good! Also Congratulations on your baby!
