    You're the best when it comes to gong! Good independent reviews about their gear.. love your videos... You deserve to have a free test on the new gear from gong so you could give us your thoughts! Keep up the good work .. personally I'm excited about all the Veloce wings... The H and the HDW .. 🤟

      @AzoreanGliders wow that's a big compliment thanks I don't think Gong knows I make these vids haha so fat chance and I'm in uk so makes it hard to send things anyway one of the reasons there is no uk Ambassadors .
      Yes, the dw foils look great. I was leaning towards a veloce h v2 myself before these came out.
      Hope they do a plane stab front and fuse package deal. It might take the sting out of buying almost a new system .
      Again, thanks for watching and kind comments. Have a great week .

    Another great vid Chris, there’s so much choice out there… you make such an important point about buying kit for the local conditions you sail in, something that’s perhaps overlooked at times 👍🏻

      @jonip.21 😊 😊 thanks 👍 we can all get carried away and forget about our own conditions, ability, and time we have to do and learn all this thanks for commenting 👍

    Awesome review. The new gear looks amazing, but you're right when you say it gets a little costly. I started on the V1 setup and moved up to the V2 which I have been using for the past few years. I'm really keen to upgrade but essentially it's like building the kit all over! I can fully understand why Gong has introduced this new range and it's definitely the way to go when the budget allows :)

      @blooskyy7 yes I too will buy I to it eventually as I can using the v2 mast I currently have thanks so much for the support and commenting 😀 good winds mate

    nice bud! interesting they are making all those different fuse options! and I didn't know alum masts have a tendency to break... makes a lot more sense as we are putting bigger loads on them than when we kite foiled. I wonder how the flex on ti is compared to alum.

    • @christomo
      @christomo  6 місяців тому

      @OCEANBOUND1 the part that breaks it the fuselage seen it on a few brands as the metal fatigues the titanium fuselage will not break it is so stiff it would not bend . But titanium is heavy buy ok in a small section as in the fuse also it is hollow to reduce weight . All the fse options are to make it compatable with all the older masts front wings and rear foils however who would buy a new version mast and put old wings on it i just dont see it but each to there own .Thanks for watching bud 👍 have a awesome weekend

    Are there differences betwen the v1 and v2 frontwing connections? thanks

    • @christomo
      @christomo  Місяць тому

      @Pumpfoiles No difference, the v1 and v2 front wings are the same, but the v3 frontwings are different
      Thanks for watching 👀

    I think the reason people will still need to buy v2 foils, is all the beginner & advanced foils are still v2 right? ( X-over, curve, veloce, fluid). But if buying a carbon mast they might want to just straight to v3 mast.

    • @christomo
      @christomo  6 місяців тому +1

      @timtravelnomad yes your totaly spot on there . Personally, I think the intermediate and beginner foils will follow soon and be the same fittings, but the v2 stuff is very good and won world titals, and there are some good deals to be had Thanks for watching and commenting.

    Hi Chris. I compared the Veloce XLH V2 and V3 frontwings. The dimensions are about the same. Gong says you can go 200cm2 lower for the same lift with V3 compared to V2. But Gong also says: an XL is an XL. From V1 to V2 indeed the area was made less for an XL, but from V2 to V3 I still see 1150cm2. Of course the shape of the Veloce is new and more in line with competitors, but I am not convinced of major improvements. About the fuse: it would give 12% more glide...... I think they mean that that the rounded shape has 12% less resistance than the square one. I believe that but how much is that in the total resistance of the complete foil? Almost nothing. I will hang on to V2 for the coming year :-)

    • @christomo
      @christomo  5 місяців тому +1

      @watercrazylion yes I feel the same as you and happy with what I have, but I will probably get something next year as funds allow,
      I agree with your statement of less resistance in fuse its all good marketing I'm sure the pros can feel the difference but not sure i would 👍over next few years we will slowly move over no doubt,an ever changing sport .
      Loved reading your opinion 👌 good winds speak soon.
      I'm sure the general rule would still be a large is a large and a small is a small and some of the models wings have dropped in area some have thicker profiles and reduced spans but I'm pretty sure the model would be same , otherwise it would be to confusing the statement can take a foil smaller would probably be in reference to some models smaller large v2 vs v3 at a guess marketing blurb that's confusing.
      However im just guessing and not 100%

      Oops. You are right regarding changes. The Veloce XL did not change in area but the Fluid XL did, from 1500cm2 in V2 to 1160 in V3! That is a major change!

    • @christomo
      @christomo  5 місяців тому +1

      @watercrazylion the mast position has changed relatively to front wind and the overall fuse lenth is shorter just a few bits I have seen online . I still fancy the veloce but don't know where it all sits in my own quiver to buy the best to go with what I already have
      Thanks 👍 😊

      @@christomo I chose only what I could swallow and mostly after lending somebody else's stuff. I still use my Curve V1 2100cm2 occassionally on the lakes. But mostly go out on my V1 Veloce 1600cm2. Recently I got the Ypra S-XL 1200cm2 and that one needs a lot of wind to fly, for my 90kgs and 3 years of weekly sessions. But my buddy of 70kgs and 6 years (kite) foiling experience flies the YpraS M of 785cm2. How do they do that?

    • @christomo
      @christomo  5 місяців тому +1

      @watercrazylion I also just got the ypra s xl and need 20kn to go I need to try it more to get used to it .

    Oh gosh. A new system. It's good and bad I guess. I don't think there is a titanium fuselage that allows you to use v2 mast with v3 foil. Only alu. But in an IG story from Patrice it appears that you can sand the bottom of your v2 mast to make it a v3 mast (and thus fit it in the new v3 titanium fuselage). He said only 2 min of sanding!? The shapes must be very similar.

    • @christomo
      @christomo  6 місяців тому +1

      Yes sanding will round it off so it fits i also saw his post , however i did see a titanium fuselage in the v2 mast option only for the v3 stab and v3 front wings i double checked . that would be the one i would go for i think . thanks for watching and commenting . good winds buddy
