idk. faking public outrage harms genuine public disputes by making people disbelieve more to all public outrage they see online. Some public freakouts are actually deserving of public attention and can open worthwhile dialogs. People faking events like that draws attention away from deserving situations and make people more jaded and cynical. Plus shit flows downstream. I think what's even crazier about these videos is that, from the perspective of a doordasher, the driver is actually somewhat in the wrong. You're able to see how much an order is before you take it. I can always tell when people who have never done food/grocery delivery gigs when they make/do/day stuff like what's in the videos. Also, I was wondering where you were! Congrats on the baby!!
Trueee I do shipt and you get the tip through the app after deliveries are done, but that doesn’t mean you always get a tip 🤷🏻♀️ remember to track your miles!!
The driver is objectively in the wrong, there is no argument. A tip is optional, despite what danny delusionally thinks. If you accept a job you look at how much you are guaranteed to get for it, if it's not enough don't do it, don't assume a tip will be added on to make it worth while. It's that kind of thinking that we get legitimate videos of door dashers reacting negatively to not getting a tip, such as throwing their food or deliberately cooling it.
@@Death-999It's also just not efficient for the doordasher to spitefully take that order back to the store over not getting a tip since the time they waste doing so could be time they could spend making money on another order.
13:30 I can just imagine there's an alternate reality where they did post a video of a man coming out a coma and knowing how to juggle and Danny would totally fw it
The way they don’t add any easy important details. No background noise in the airport OR airplane. No camera movement as if somebody had a tripod on the airplane.
@ it's a four panel comic page about a guy losing someone close to him (maybe his wife but I can't remember). If you look up "loss meme" you should be able to find a good explanation that lets you understand it. Danny's bottom left picture is panel 1, his top right is panel 2 (which is kind of a stretch), his top left is panel 3, and his bottom right is panel 4.
I'm gonna nerd out, but he didn't LITERALLY make Loss. He did make it look like Loss . Sorry, I'm nerding out but I am pretty sure literally means exactly what is said. For example, square up would be literally a square that's up. Sorry, I have to.
In my country if you tip it's considered really really nice, especially because it's not mandatory. It means the service was so good you want to give money to the person, but since ain't nobody gonna have money to just give away, nobody tips 😅
I truly do wish it was like that over here in the US. But yeah workers whose income relies on tips make less than minimum wage over here. I remember when I was working as a host for a restaurant and made minimum wage, but I was paid more per hour by about double what the waitresses did. They of course made up for it with tips, but if a table didn’t tip it would directly result in loss of income for them. If these workers were paid properly tipping culture would stop being like this, so I hope it happens eventually.
Congratulations to Danny and Laura for their baby! I’m glad you took the time to just be with your wife and kid. And congratulations on using the announcement to also plug your merch immediately after, glad that the kid will see where they get all their toys from.
Can't believe that my entire childhood I used to hear about "American dream" and "USA being absolutely the best" and then learned that there are some job fields in the US when you survive only from tips. It baffles my mind.
Congrats to you two for the baby!! Also, I used to be a pro tipper, and I def tip when I can, but I do wish we would all get angry at the companies that refuse to pay their workers fairly and passing that responsibilibity on the customer instead of the customer who just needs a service and shouldnt HAVE to tip in order to "deserve" the thing they already paid for. It also puts customers who like to have power over others in a place where they can be cruel about not tipping.
I guess he looks young for his age but you do realize he's almost 30 right? I don't think he looks like a teenager but he looks young enough to be an actor playing a teenager (I just realized people who haven't actually seen teenagers much but watch a lot of movies and TV with characters that are supposed to be teenagers, probably think this is what teenagers look like.) The older I get the younger teenagers look, what's up with that?
Exactly, crazy to hear even "more reasonable" people defend tipping system when it's designed to disadvantage workers and make them fight with people who probably earn just as much
@@cyjanek7818doordash earns $2 the entire delivery unless someone tips. They are not making "just as much" as literally anyone. That's like over $5 below minimum wage.
Dannys reasoning that you don’t need to tip a doctor but you do need to tip a driver is absolutely insane. Why are you subsiding a company that decides to pay its employees an unliveable wage? Where’s the threshold? Why don’t you tip a cashier at the supermarket? Just refuse tipping altogether and make the companies pay what they need to be profitable? You’re literally subsidising capitalism, do you realise how bat sh*t that is?
5:30 "They're mandatory when people don't make enough money to support themselves without tips" Execpt for fast food workers, supermarket cashiers, etc who people see as less deserving of tips than servers and complain when businesses push tips for even though servers make far more money even without tips.
where do u live bcs where I live a server makes about 6 dollars an hour, and a fast food employee makes 13 dollars an hour. There’s a clear difference in pay
@@yssup2 You don't live in the US, then. In this US, in every single state, employers are required to ensure that servers make at least the higher between federal and state minimum wage, with many states mandating higher minimum pay in the region of $11-15 minmum. If a server makes no money at all in tips, then the employer is legally required to pay the server all of their minimum wage. And if the server does make tips but still less than the minimum, the employer still has to pay the difference. This is the law in every single state in the United States.
@@connoc5078first of all you're wrong about how much minimum wage is it's $11 to $15 is true in most States but not all like Oklahoma is 7:25 it's arguably harder to be a server than a cashier yes I do think that cashiers deserve to like live off of their money but being a cashier or fast food worker is also a different kind of job than being a server whenever your server then you're serving people you're on your feet all the time and you're waiting on people and making sure that they're happy by checking on them often making sure to refill their drinks being super nice making sure the food's good if the food isn't good then taking it back to the kitchen and probably getting yelled at there are a lot of factors that go into being a server that don't go into being other things and so it makes sense to tip your server but especially whenever the only time they make did they make more than minimum wage is if you tip and so you should tips and they get more than minimum wage cuz minimum wage is hard to live off of

Tips were never meant to be the expected part of basic salary without which you're not getting a decent living wage. They were always a perk. You received a normal pay for your service, and you might receive an extra for an extra service or an exceptional quality of service. The fact that this is now a real argument that the employer is just not paying certain groups of people enough and expects their customers to make up the difference is CRAZY. What kinda world do we live in
Congratulations, Danny! It feels surreal to know a guy who looks like someone who can't drink legally in the US is a father and it's not a sad story, and I mean it as a compliment
Congratulations Danny, you were my favorite UA-camr growing up so seeing you experience something so life changing and beautiful and being able to share it with ur supporters really warms my heart. Your child will be the best greg

My friends and I have done this before. Most of the time you can tell in the first few frames. If it’s perfectly framed or stationary filming it’s fake. If it starts at the beginning of the conflict so you can have all the context instead of after someone has already started freaking out it’s fake.
the weird thing on tipping is on the one hand the people don't get paid enough without tips, on the other hand we are encouraging the company to under pay their employees and perpetuating it by tipping, because tipping is a legal out that allows them to pay under minimum wage.
I think we should be mad that the giant corporations don't pay their employees enough instead of being mad that the customer doesn't want to pay extra to support people.
What I've heard is that in America, you're practically paying the restaurant instead of the employees because the owners get to subtract the tips from their employees' pay.

I suppose it's better than ACTUALLY freaking out in public.
Nahh, I feel like these videos are Incel bait. They always portray a certain trope to have a certain demographic buy into it and engage with the video bc of rage. It doesn’t help those of us who experience societal disadvantages
yeah lmao
idk. faking public outrage harms genuine public disputes by making people disbelieve more to all public outrage they see online. Some public freakouts are actually deserving of public attention and can open worthwhile dialogs. People faking events like that draws attention away from deserving situations and make people more jaded and cynical. Plus shit flows downstream. Those who are going to be hurt the most by the affect of fake outrage bait are the most vulnerable and least visible in society.
@@elleofhearts8471 I already was jaded and cynical and real public outrage just makes me think they lack self control and rarely makes me sympathetic to their plight. The fact that people fake this for clicks and upvotes and fake internet points can't possibly make me more indifferent than I already was.

What’s loss?
@LAyersFur ok I fixed it lol
Actually nvm I'm keeping it the way it was
as a person who comes from a country which doesn't have a tipping culture the first scenario is quite baffling lol kudos to all service workers tho
In my country if you tip it's considered really really nice, especially because it's not mandatory. It means the service was so good you want to give money to the person, but since ain't nobody gonna have money to just give away, nobody tips 😅
In our country we don't have tipping culture. But we only tip if the person is good working at our table.
Same In wales but we also make sure our labourers get the pay they deserve so tips aren’t really necessary
@@cherryelle3835 Then you do have a tipping culture?

It's so weird seeing Danny talk about having a child because he himself always looks 16 years old lol

@@volatiletimes7116yes it looks like Danny
I guess he looks young for his age but you do realize he's almost 30 right? I don't think he looks like a teenager but he looks young enough to be an actor playing a teenager (I just realized people who haven't actually seen teenagers much but watch a lot of movies and TV with characters that are supposed to be teenagers, probably think this is what teenagers look like.)
The older I get the younger teenagers look, what's up with that?
damn America's tip system is horrendous. just pay your workers.
Fr it will never stop sounding abysmal
Why would they do that? When they can ignore it all and keep all of their big bucks and probably waste it
Exactly, crazy to hear even "more reasonable" people defend tipping system when it's designed to disadvantage workers and make them fight with people who probably earn just as much
@@cyjanek7818doordash earns $2 the entire delivery unless someone tips.
@@connoc5078first of all you're wrong about how much minimum wage is it's $11 to $15 is true in most States but not all like Oklahoma is 7:25 it's arguably harder to be a server than a cashier yes I do think that cashiers deserve to like live off of their money but being a cashier or fast food worker is also a different kind of job than being a server whenever your server then you're serving people you're on your feet all the time and you're waiting on people and making sure that they're happy by checking on them often making sure to refill their drinks being super nice making sure the food's good if the food isn't good then taking it back to the kitchen and probably getting yelled at there are a lot of factors that go into being a server that don't go into being other things and so it makes sense to tip your server but especially whenever the only time they make did they make more than minimum wage is if you tip and so you should tips and they get more than minimum wage cuz minimum wage is hard to live off of
no one deserves tips, any tips.
A lot of servers don’t make enough without tips. My last coworkers got $2.50 /hour as servers and that is literally impossible to live off of
