EALA Conference 2024 (New Orleans)

I have always believed that closing the gaps in education is not going to rely on a silver bullet solution. It is going to take innovative problem-solving to ensure that all children are receiving a fair and equitable education.
I was proud to attend a conference in New Orleans with the Educating All Learners Association (EALA) to investigate schools and their approaches to teaching the leaders of tomorrow. From analyzing school cultures, reimagining small group instruction, and researching the immersion of foreign languages into daily instruction, this conference was transformative in my practice as an educator in the nation's capital.
I am proud to stand with other educators who undertake this hardwork and understand it takes “heart work”. It is an effort that goes into it daily, so that it is academically rigorous and equitable for all students.
