- How Did I Get Here with This Chopper Build? Well, we are a little more than halfway through the mock-up of the SmokeOut Build Off bike, dubbed the "Beautiful Loser." We have the drivetrain in the frame, we have the rear wheel and fender mounted as well as the sissy bar. Still a ton to do, but I COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT ALL OF YOU!

Still watching you. Enjoy your videos very much still. Your humor is a big plus. I’m 74 now. Still have my bikes. I will not be going any more rally’s ass just too expensive for me. Still ride but closer to home and my wife and our dogs. Keep it up you do this well.
If you do anything in life, there are assholes involved. I started bass fishing recently and some people that have been doing it a while are critical about your boat, how you fish, what you fish with, and are uppity as fuck. I do it for fun and I'm not attempting to qualify for the Bass Masters tournament. I understand being protective with fishing spots and guarded with your techniques, but the holier-than-thou attitude is annoying.
Do your thing and screw the haters. Really enjoy your content.
Did not have access to a lathe: chucked the axle into my 3/4" drill and did sandpaper and checked fIt A LOT! WHOLE LOT OF CUSSING!!!! 😂
Shit you got it goin on...that's killer. It's gonna be a good lookin ride
Hey it's your bike, it's your journey. The your cheating by starting with a roller is like saying Michelangelo cheated because he did'nt quarry the stone. It should be a learning experience, it should push you to up your game and that will be the reward. Trophys and accolades are just icing on the cake.
Love that! Thanks for the support
Its looking great, I like the direction that your chopper is going.. Awesome job.
Oversized jugs are the way to go for sure!!!!
Have you ever used a magnetic laser for alignment issues?
Nope. It would be nice but I think I’ve got it nailed.
When you get stuck, grab a drink or two and think about it. Or move to another part . It’s a bike, it’s supposed to be a good time.
Hey @Professional Monkey, I always like watching these kind of videos that you do. I am looking forward to seeing you finish the bike and I am really looking forward to see what you think about that engine after you get to ride it. Getting frustrated with your bike in your garage is a good problem to have . Look forward to seeing more videos on this build.
Hahahahhaha John Deer tractor
Well since I’m a channel member will my name be airbrushed on the back fender as part of this build? lol jk good work brother
For the bargain basement price of $5k… 😂😂😂
Man, keep it up! It’s going to be so cool. And the experience will be a memory for as long as we have them…
You have the right attitude for a garage build “you build it for yourself” and it looks like coming along great. Look forward to each video and I’m clicking the join button.
Keep rockin’ on!!! You’re doing great! Can’t way to see the finished bike!!
Bike is going to be cool nice job you can do it I have faith in you
Awesome build Mr monkey!! I live the tribute to Natalie. I know u just did that because it was her motor, and it's a tribute, and that's cool!! I hope she is smiling down and seeing her motor running and she got to see her old bike fire up!! Very cool, brother. I hope this build is everything u want, and ya, u probably won't win lol!! Some of those builds are bad ass but at the same time, your build seems like it will shine on stage too bro!!!
Do you think you’ll ever come down to Loretta Lynn‘s for their bike week?
I’d love to but not sure how I can make it work.
Never listen to the haters. “Your not a real builder unless you make your own welding wire” I don’t care what you call yourself, if you having a good time in the garage wrenching you are all right in my book!
Don’t you dare apologize Sir,
Mr. Monk......Really enjoying the build. Screw the naysayers who have opinions on everything and are experts on nothing. Sorry I missed you in Daytona. Looking forward to seeing this project done. Hope you're enjoying the hard work and showing it off, as much as we are watching and learning. Ride safe
One turning of the wrench 🔧 at a time... you will get it done.
Great job monkey. Love the channel.
Thanks 👍
You CAN do it...😂😂
Keep grinding. Wish I could be building something like this, just not in the cards right now. As far as powder coating goes it would be cool to see something other than black, but I understand the simplicity of it as well.
Brother, that is gonna be one bad ass chopper! Thanks for bringing us along for the journey!
Thanks for the update, Mr. monkey,,, I enjoyed listening to you, explain everything.. even though I was a little lost.
But I will say it brings back memories of when I was in my 20s and I tore apart. My Yamaha banshee powder coated the frame and rebuilt. It have fun don’t pull your hair out. Oh wait, I’m sorry.
😂😂😂
Its looking great I like the look you chose to go with....Thats good progress
Thank you!
We need a montage of the cussin' and wrench throwing...timer cover is a nice touch.
Nice work , cain't wait to see this after finished , G9od Luck and Roll On !
Fuckin love ya dude, top channel from. Preston,, UK
This is for members… LET IT RIP TATER CHIP🤪🤙🏼
GREAT job buildin it so far… sucks when ya get soemthin 70% put together n have to pull it back apart like the rear wheel spacers
I like it. Looking great so far...
Comment , can't wait to see it done and you may win
Appreciate the update. With Bill's guidance, you'll be fine.
Keep up the good work. You are inspiring me to build my own bike in my garage.
You are doing a Great job!! I look forward to seeing you in LEESBURG.
Sugar Bear springer front end are awesome too
Hell yeah, but all the money!
Nice build, and it's always great to see people working outside of their comfort zone and friends lending a hand to keep on track. Can't wait for Leesburg, we've made friends for life down there and now it's a big reunion it seems. Missed last year due to life, but already have our plans together for Windy Acres! Hope to meet up with you there, we will be on about row 3, swing by for a drink (white Dodge dually flatbed 5th wheel toy hauler).
Thank you, this is very helpful info👍
Glad it was helpful!
You're making good progress. Can't wait to see the end result. Any plans to do merch like you did with Brown Sugar? I would love to add a sticker to my collection at least. Because you know: EVERYONE LOVES STICKERS!!!!!!!!
That’s the plan, but Russel will need it further along and a plan for paint before he can draw it.
Apology not needed, life happens. Love the content and presenter. This is free entertainment, whenever it comes to my feed.
Whats up any update on how those helper springs worked on your truck
Worked great! The truck felt way more under control with my rig on back
Are you going to trim the fender so it stops at the bottom of the oil bag? I’m no professional but I think it would look cleaner without the fender going down so low.
Not sure. The rear fender also protects from spray on the trans and motor.
@@ProfessionalMonkey I can understand that aspect. I just think it would clean up the space between the trans and the tire. The spacer and tab just stuck out to me when you panned from the tire to the engine. I love the style you’re going with, and at the end of the day it’s your scooter. Keep up the good work
I think it was the tab and spacer the made it look “messy” for the lack of a better word
It is coming along great brother can't wait to see when you get it completed don't get I know its easier said then done but try not to get to frustrated just enjoying the process and have fun it will make it all worth while in the end
I appreciate that!
Semper Fi to your Dad
Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
You and me both!
Keep chipping away. She's gonna be baddass
You Have Mail, I have been offline fighting Pancreatic Cancer and all information about that is in personal Email to you, But News and Progress is POSITIVE
😳❤️ keeping you in our thoughts ❤
You don't have a roller chassis you have a basket case and it fukin rocks LOVE how this build is going so far can't wait for the next update and see where this goes hope to see you in Sturgis
That pretty much nailed it!
Ya it's to bad that everybody that shows up doesn't get a trophy. But I am okay if your okay with not winning. As long as you're having fun. I do think you put you're self under a lot of pressure but I think you still have you're head above water. In the end I think it's going to turn out great by the looks of you're other works. So swim baby!
Build is looking awesome! I love how you wrote "Rear" on the fender to remind you which way it goes ! LOL!
Sounds cool
Part-time bike builders I guess, or back yard bike builders aka B.Y.B.B.
Badd ass!!
If it's what you love to do then it's not blowing the budget.
👋👋😎👍🍺🥃🥃👉👌
You should come out to forgotten angels in October, the weekend after biketoberfest.
Thought you sold the Gold Bagger
Nope. Still here!
You open for suggestions, i would add a longer spacer at the the bottom of the rear fender to make follow the radius of the rear tire a little more.
When do these Monkey Motors Motorcycles go into mass production?
😂😂
Nice history of the smoke out, thanks for your knowledge PM
Instructions, don't have any... Keep on keeping on
My wife and I have a 79 Shovel rebuild we have yet to start!!!🤘🤘🤘
You like setting money on fire too
@@WillieD3521 not at all. It was her late father’s he never got around to rebuilding it. So my wife and I are gonna do it in honor of him
I’ve got my grandpa’s 79 shovel and I will die before it goes anywhere
Looks fantastic
You got this!
We’ll see!
Keep up the good work. The bike is going to be amazing.
Looking good 👍
You got this 👍
So far so badass!
Monk... its coming along great, You're doing it for you not anybody else so ignore all the bullshit, And enjoy the experience that's what this is all about. You said the same shit about sugar and she turned out gorgeous. Head down ass up, one thing at a time and you'll get her done Cheers from the Great White North 🇨🇦
👍👍👍👍👍
🤘🏻
Solid! Can’t wait to see it come together, or not🙌🏼
Harley Owners are never satisfied... No matter what 🙄
That’s life, no one’s ever satisfied 😂
Keep our chin up brother . It s a process ….your doing great ..
I appreciate that
I can't wait to go to Smokeout and see the chopper!
Me either!
Love the engine. Not sure about tranny. LOVE the springer front end. What’s wrong with the triangle light? I think it looks pretty cool and period correct? Don’t know why but I keep envisioning some bad ass modern mags for wheels. Think I’d go with a bigger rear wheel and tire. Not obscene, just little more beefy. You figure out handlebars yet? Ape hangers? Should be a fun build. Sorry I have not chimed in for a long time.
Murder Glide out! ✌️☮️
Just like to say I enjoy your content and appreciate the fact that all your new videos aren't pushing 2024 Harley-Davidson. Seems like all these other creators are just talking about the new and out with the old. Stay real
Have a cool taillights idea for you. Take a glass Mason jar lid. And a red side marker light for a trailer. You can get them at orielys. It's the coolest taillight for 20 buck
Looks like you've got a great build going. Really like the effort to have hidden wiring. Just remember to wrap the wiring where it enters/exits the frame or use grommets on the holes to prevent insulation rub-thru. Shorts to ground ruin one's day and cause major headaches trying to find the problem.
You are correct the most frustrating thing in the world is buying a bunch of custom parts to put them together and none of them effing fit. Like when the license plate holder doesn't have a big enough hole to go around the axle.... Keep your head up you're doing the right thing. I built a 2000 hardtail Sportster that's raked out and boil boy nothing fit like it was supposed to. However my dad and I built it together at his shop and it's one of my proud crowning jewels of my collection. Even though it is not by any means the best bike.
Great job so far Monkey! This will be a bike you’ll be proud of! Can’t wait to see the finished bike!
Enjoy your info I'm currently doing my own build on a shovelhead
What year? I’d love to see pics

I think even if you don't win when you take your daughter for a ride that is your trophy not many get that chance. Build it the way you want to and ride it.
Are open primaries a thing anymore?
They are for sure.
But I habitually put my foot on the primary while riding… open primary won’t work.
Love the Motorcycle Mania and the Biker Build Off days of tv.
Just have a beer and cigar and relax then think it through bud.
Hey where did you get that sissy bar or did you make it
That's Paughco. I'd tackle making one but without the proper table, etc. it would be crooked AF.
Thank you for the info
Nice build buddy, coming along nicely
Liked the update! Keep going!
That fender might be okay for a Softail but it don't fit on a Hardtail.
It’s meant for a hard tail. It’s a tractor fender.
@@ProfessionalMonkey sorry, don't fit, don't look good
Choppers ride horribly. That's why they are a joke
What a strange comment. They’re a joke because they’re uncomfortable for you? 😂
You are correct. If that's what you want to ride its none of my business.@@mikeystavaros9448
I’ve never built a bike, but I’ll tell you what you need to do.. and that is to do whatever the hell you want . progress so far looks great. Keep powering through those frustrations and you’ll have a killer chopper soon enough.
Yup, I feel ya'. Been doing a ground up build for about 2 years. Had to buy every single part, nut, bolt, spacer...etc. About 80% of the parts fit as advertised. The other 20%...not so much. But I think that's what makes being a garage builder fun, making that 20% fit.
