race day shoes degrade more quickly than daily trainers. daily trainers are designed for medium/slower paced runs and are focused on comfort/recovery and longevity. ur not gonna be doing a marathon every other day
The alphafly shoes are really good for road long distance running. I wouldn’t really recommend doing track intervalls with them, because they’re really soft and aren’t made for high speeds. If you are more a middle distance person (5k-10k), than i’d recommend the nike vaporfly’s insead. If you are looking to run half or full marathons than the alphaflyes are perfect.
I have alpha flys version 1. They’re fine for intervals on or off track. Realistically, if you’re doing 5 x 1000s on track, even with flats / spikes, what speed are you getting up to? 3min per km? Well on the road Kipchoge is doing 2.45 per km in them. I’d say they’re absolutely fine for track intervals.
