I think Sauron shares the same fate as Darth Vader in the movie universe. Both don't have many scenes in the movies, but they are the most iconic characters in the history of cinema.
Bruh Sauron is pure evil, Darth Vader is a man, imprisoned by the Dark Side who has lost everything, Sauron does it all for himself, by deceiving everyone around him
Fun Fact: Gandalf has had one of the 3 elven rings this entire time. He has Narya (The Ring of Fire.) The reason why most people don’t know about it is because it only appears on his hand when someone is talking to him about it, and pretty much the only times it appears are in deleted scenes or extended versions of the movies.
The ring Narya was once one of the three eleven rings given to Gil Galad, he also had Vilya which he then gave to Elrond. The ring Narya was given to Cìrdan before his death, which he then gave to Gandalf when he arrived on middle earth in the third age.
@@szymongrabarczyk3561 I have the understanding that Both are Maiar so essentially are the same thing with the same powers, beyond their respective ranks ofc Thing is Sauron chose to not restraint and that's why he would become that evil but Maiar (because of humility) does, so they remain humble and can fight against him
Yeah, it's like there were different teams of writers working on each of the story lines. The Orc and Hobbit stories are great so far, then it devolves down to the Elven and Númenorean story which really needs an injection of imagination and "realism". It's sad when series like Andor and HOTD can nail the scifi and fantasy "realism" and shows like the Amazon offerings which just completely miss the mark. Well except The Boys where Amazon is making better live action DCU like content than WB (besides Joker and The Batman). Carnival Row is also pretty good so far, but they actually hired good experienced actors and directors for that show.
Sauron is one of the most interesting characters... He was not pure evil. Even Tolkien said he was not evil in the beginning. When he was born and was beside the Valars, he was good. But Melkor/Morgoth corrupted him. After the first age, he was good again and his goal was heal Arda. But... His methods made him evil again. Amazing character. Can't wait to see more about Charlie Vickers as Sauron. For now, he is soooo good... 👌🏻
Melkor of course went against Illuvatar "disrupting" the Music of the Einar who with Illuvatar were singing the world-Eä into existence...Melkor decides he want to create his own melody or as Eru might think of it as "dissonance" And he never forgives Eru for not allowing him to sow seeds of discord into the music of the Ainar...never really forgives him for not allowing him to continue with his own song. An angry child mad at father...such a common theme. Wagnerian, eh? Even if the fathers are VERY different Illuvatar being wonderous and Alberich not being the best of humans much less of fathers, eh?
I feel so bad for the cast. They are not bad actors, but hey got horrible bad dialogues to speak and poor directing to work with. You see it in many scenes. The actors seem kind of lost. The actors of Adar, Sauron, Celebrimbor or even Nori and Galadriel are not bad. Their abilities shine through in some moments. They just got cought in a nightmare of a terrible production...

I've read all 1076 pages of LOTR and I believe what you say wouldn't resonate with you if you had not seen the films or tv series; Sauron is only mentioned a few times in LOTR it is true, but in media he is mentioned all the time and even has an appearance in his battle-form or as an eye. I believe a great deal of what you say is influenced by the films and media and not by Tolkien himself; The media is completely different to the books.
It is exactly this little 'screen time' in the books that make Sauron so powerful. Tolkien doesn't show his villain, but you can only see and hear the absolute cruelty of his servants. How chilling does a character have to be if he is the master of all those insanely evil creatures.
Agreed, ROP had good ideas, just poor execution at times. Hopefully Amazon gets past these writing and directing growing pains with this series and WOT because both have the potential to be great series like The Expanse.
At the dawn of time, Mairon was there. He was corrupted to evil and followed another, Melkor, but not because the latter was more powerful than he, but because he saw it as a way to achieve his own goals. Melkor became known as Morgoth, and Mairon as Sauron, his second-hand, and both began to rule Middle-Earth with an iron fist. After many millennia and tens of thousands of deaths, Morgoth was finally defeated, but his greatest servant remained. And now Sauron had no boundaries, he served no one. He now did not have to pretend to pledge loyalty, to wish to rule over Middle-Earth. He now prepared to bring order. And Sauron gathered his forces, regained his strength, and took his throne, becoming the most powerful Evil Dark Lord. Time and time again, the races of Middle-Earth fought him. But even when they finally thought he was dead, he rose back up through his spirit in the Ring. He gathered his forces. He strengthened his servants. He rebuilt his fortress. And finally he launched the greatest attack ever to take over all of Middle-Earth. One again, he was defeated by the courage of Men, the magic of Elves, and the weapons of Dwarves. And yet, even when the Ring was destroyed, Sauron’s spirit remained, unable to take form, but still there like a huge black cloud, staring down at the world in anger and hate, unable to take fair forms, but malevolent still.
I was always sad sauron died. But knowing he actually is just weakened greatly makes me believe that one day maybe after eons he could return. Or redeem himself
@@tonypringles2285 He almost certainly can never return as he's too weak after losing so much of his power. He's just a shadowy spirit left in regret. Perhaps redemption is possible for him at the end of time, but Tolkien never ended up confirming or denying that.
