  • This is part II of how homesteaders enjoy pizza when they have limited options. We live in a small town and obviously no good pizza places around us.
Today we will make supreme pizza and bread sticks out of the same dough.
As mentioned in the video, one of the best pizza dough recipes especially for beginners is Olive Garden Copycat Breadstick Recipe. I used only 1 tbsp of sugar instead of 2.
    DOUGH RECIPE
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (250 grams) warm water, about 100-110°F
    1 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 tablespoons (25 grams) granulated sugar
3 tablespoons (42 grams) salted butter, melted or Olive Oil (I USED RENDERED PIG LARD)
    1 3/4 teaspoons salt
3 cups (381 grams) bread flour, plus more as needed.
    For the topping:
2 tablespoons (28 grams) salted butter, melted.
    1/2 teaspoon salt,
1/4 teaspoon oregano/and or Italian seasoning
2 tsp garlic paste, or pulverize fresh garlic or mince fresh garlic.
After dough rises, split it in half. One half is for the pizza, the other half is for the breadsticks.
Corn meal is used so pizza and breadsticks won’t stick.
Make any pizza you want but bake in 450 oven for 12-15 minutes.
Bread sticks do have to rise for 45 minutes they could be baked at the same temp for about 11-12 minutes or watch till golden brown.
Or bake at 425 for about 11-15 minutes.
I recommend you play around with the times and find your best option.
