I REALLY want to buy a nice 31.5-34in 4K monitor but I cannot find any of the monitors I am interested in, in stock and I have been looking for MONTHS 😪
This kind of video reminds me of way back then I cant afford a high end pc with 144hz monitor. Now that I finally bought rigs that I wanted, I dont have the time, friends, same energy & skills I had back then. Now all I do is watch videos and casually play games (like stardew valley and such). Edit 1 : I would like to take this opportunity to remind all of you young & old gamers out there who’s currently are having a great time with your friend to cherish the moments of you all playing together. We don’t know how long we could play together.
On point. I can afford all kinds of things I couldn't back then, but now I'm years older and work most of the time. Who needs 4k for Hulu and Astroneer?
I spent a couple of years playing sims with a number of flight sticks. One day, I decided to buy an expensive Logitech G940 flight system complete with throttle and rudder control. Unfortunately, I didn't realized that while I was purchasing it, I was already a bit burnt out with flight sims. When it arrived my excitement in using it lasted around a month or two.
Keep in mind: 4K is very demanding for newer titles, but older titles from a few years ago and older can often run at 4K and well over 100 fps on a moderate-to-powerful machine, and they look phenomenal. As someone playing his way through a massive backlog, I can attest to this ;)
What size monitor do you play on? I've compared 4k and 1440p at 27 inches and I have to look really close to see a difference. Granted my eyes are not what they used to be, but the difference seems mostly in slightly clearer objects in the far distance. I'd say maybe a 5% difference, almost negligible. At larger monitor sizes I would agree that 4k is better.
I bought a 1080p 144Hz monitor late last year. I was originally planning on 1440p 144Hz but the jump in price between 1080p and 1440p was so big that it didn't make financial sense to buy 1440p yet. I figured I can save my money now, wait until I can get a newer GPU then buy the new 1440p monitor alongside, and keep this 1080p one as a secondary monitor.

You forgot to add No 1080p unless you live in the Balkans where buying a 1440p monitor usually costs an arm and a leg The M27Q here is not even close to being budget
I think the main benefit of a 4K display comes outside games. People always talk about how negligible the difference is in-game (which is mostly true) forgetting how much time we spend browsing and reading text, or using productivity applications with complex UIs, all of which look undeniably better on a HiDPI display.
This comment in underrated. I think most people have to make a choice because 1440p and 1080p can not multi task. if you are fine with this a single 1080p or 1440p is fine. For more people who work at home from time to time or do spend a lot of times on the web have a benefit from multitask. - 4k is able to go window side by side - 1440p ultrawide is able to go window side by side - 1440p and 1080p can always go 2 monitors to battle the mentioned conflict. for the multitask purpose the choice will be one of the three.
I'm so glad I bought a 1440p 165hz IPS panel. It was very much worth the money. Much sharper than 1080p, much less performance cost than 4k. High resolution and high framerates. It's the most optimal resolution to game at right now. The sweet spot in my opinion
I bought a Dell S2417DG monitor almost 5 years ago and it has aged beautifully. It's 24", 1440p, 165Hz, and supports G-sync. There are almost zero 1440p monitors available today with pixel density that high, and it creates very crisp images because the small pixels have a natural anti-aliasing effect. I've said for years that 1440p gaming is the sweet spot in terms of real estate and performance. Even high-end video cards struggle to render 4K at high frame rates, especially with ray tracing enabled. The viability of 4K gaming has struggled to gain footing because even though GPUs have increased in performance over the years, the complexity of the graphical effects added to new titles has likewise increased.
That’s actually the same monitor I have too haha. It’s such a good monitor. The only bad thing about mine is that it flashes randomly at the top left every now and then but it’s for a split second. My brain has basically blocked it but sometimes when I’m watching videos on UA-cam, I’ll notice it but since it doesn’t happen often I don’t mind. Gonna hold on to this until Samsung ark or if they ever release a smaller ark. Would love to see a 2 in 1 monitor ark instead of 3 in 1 monitor
@@justsomegamer2285 i prefer 16:9, to be honest. I never really tried 21:9, but i've seen those in the stores and such, and, uh, i don't think that's quite "my" thing. But maybe i'll give ultrawide a shot one day, who knows. Right now i'm rocking a 32" curved 1440p panel, and i love it.
@@nanteeeeee ultrawide for e sports titles? never. i mean if you play them casually sure. but just simply never. and I own an ultrawide.. just will never use one for esports.
I so appreciate channels that don't do the "wacky/stupid face take" thing. And it's even better when they take the time to do something that looks artful, like this channel always does.
It depends on the game, games like Red Dead are meant to run at 60fps, trying to get high fps in such game is unrealistic. In fact some of these game engines have problems at high fps like GTA V. Games like Warzone, Valorant, CSGO or esport games are meant to run at high fps, then again CSGO and Valorant run at high fps even at 4k really easily
27" 1440p w/144hz refresh is my personal sweet spot. Love it, 4k is nice but you need high end hardware to make use of it. 1440 can be run on older hardware easy enough now :)
Dude, your IPS vs TN advice is spot on! I have an IPS LG 34UM95-P (3440X1440) from 2014.......and last summer, I was shopping for a newer monitor, being jealous of newer technologies such as curved panels, Gsync, and higher refresh rates. I thought I had found the answer (at a reasonable price) in the ASUS TUF VG35V. Sadly, I didn't quite do my due diligence, and failed to notice is was a TN panel :/ I did use the new monitor for about 4-6 months, but all the eye candy in Cyberpunk made me realize how washed out the colors were on that monitor. So I switched back to the much older LG, despite its' relative drawbacks, and have been happier overall. Blacks are blacker, colors are deeper and more vibrant, and even though I'm sure it's Brightness is lower than the TUF, the deeper blacks more than make up for that. Lesson learned.
honestly, ips is so much better than every other panel, even though ur ips monitor is from 2014, its not worth the trade off of ur ips panel for a curved panel with gsync lmao.
@@RickieBeubie yep. Even the smallest windows UI setting at 1080p looks too big to me. 1440p is just perfect. In fact, on my older 4k monitor, I find myself setting the UI scale to 150% which is the exact same size as 100% on my 1440p monitor.
I went from a old 1440p TN panel to a 1080p IPS panel, love the IPS panel soo much. Here's why, the 3060 has the same performance at 1080p as the 3070 does at 1440p, 1440p is still too expensive, the drop in resolution was apparent to me but the increase in fps was even more so and more valuable to my enjoyment. With todays prices man am I glad too.
Well done video. Great detailed info at 5:38 . Finding your own personal sweet spot for your use case is so important. I know this is a gaming monitor video, but based on the recent uptick in VR market growth I think people also need to consider how that affects their equipment purchase needs. For example I am quite happy with my GTX 1080 ti for standard gaming at 1440p ( 4:11 Still hanging on!... out of necessity because of, ya know, scalpers) BUT I am really holding out for a reasonably priced RTX 3080 for VR purposes, and won't mind that it's a bit overpowered for my 1440p monitor.
1080 in 2021 is wild, but I also think a lot of people will just skip over 1440p and jump straight to 4k in the next few years, so I don't think I'd want to buy a 1440p monitor right now either. Especially when you could just wait a bit, buy a 4k monitor and be fine for the next 10+ years. I've had my current 1080p gaming monitor for about that long, I don't really want to buy a 1440p monitor now and then upgrade it again in a few years when they're so expensive.
@@11blakex And is that supposed to be reasonable for a few years of gaming? I spent £200 or something on a 144hz monitor about 10 years ago now, and it's still going strong. If you spend a little extra on a 4k monitor, it's going to last you so much longer and be a more meaningful upgrade in terms of pixel density.
@@banboosy but it's not only about specs, a 144hz monitor now will have much faster response time compare to 144hz from ten years ago. I mean 400 for a few years is very reasonable for a thing that I use daily.
@@banboosy I see where you’re coming from, but I think it’ll be a while before 4K 120Hz+ becomes mainstream and affordable. I used a 1080p 144hz monitor for the past 8 years, and only now feel like 1440p 144Hz is at an affordable price (when you factor in the cost of the GPU) running it. Go for what you can afford I guess, but I think 1440p will be good for a number of years yet :)
I have 5950x and 6900xt. I've been using 1440p 165hz monitor and changed it to 4k 144hz monitor. But I really do feel the lower FPS and the resolution itself did not blow my mind so I think I'm going to return the 4k monitor. It was not that kind of wow effect that I wanted versus the lost fps. I think I just need to wait OLED monitors to blow my mind, now 4k OLED monitor would be something to consider. I have 4k OLED TV and that is really something different than these IPS panels.
If anyone is still wondering. If you only play fps competitive games, don't go under 240hz. For me the difference between 144 and 240 is huge. You can feel how much more responsive your mouse is on the desktop. If you play mobas and games from many different genre, go for 144hz 1440p.
I recently sold my Dell 240hz 1080 p monitor and went 2k 1440p and I can say 1000% I'm missing those frames right now . Only hitting around 100 on my 3060ti in 2 apposed to my previously 190-200fps. Going for the 4080 then il probably clock 165hz on 2k more consistently on MW2. Hopefully the right move
I gotta say. I've always been rocking low pixel density displays : my very first PC (that I kept gaming on for 5 years) was a MSI laptop with a 15.6" 1366x768 resolution. I then went to a 27" 1080p 60Hz panel, and about a year ago, I upgraded to a similar panel at 165Hz And though I have a quite powerful PC (3700X + 2070S + 32GB RAM) I just DON'T see the benefit of going 1440p I mean, I love the high refresh rate and i'm not bothered by the 1080^p resolution. That way I can push more frames in single player titles, and have a more stable framerate in competitive ones (not mentionning my PC just draining lower power overall thanks to frame limiters)
I wanted to buy a 27inch 1080p monitor because of the screen size but probably apart from gaming it hasn't got much use for other stuff like office work and streaming videos, which is what I was gonna do primarily. It'd just be too pixelated, I imagined. So I've ordered a 24inch 1080p 165hz monitor for now lol. I'll buy another one with higher resolution later on when I earn more money and pay off my debts lmao.
Not to sound vein, but I'm a pretty decent editor and videographer, I think my B Roll is so crispy!!! But OT, your camera work and lighting are NEXT LEVEL man. Your content has always been some of the best on the platform, but your video production skills are through the roof!!! Great Video - Thanks!!!
You can also get the best of both worlds if you buy a 24" 4K 120hz+ display, because you can choose scale down to 1080p whenever you want without any blurring using your GPU driver's pixel scaling option.
If you want a 4K monitor, look for ones with large diametre panels, from 2014-2017, in auctions. They can be found for 200-300 bucks, mostly from liquidation sales. I've been using a 40'' 4K VA panel from Philips released back in 2014 and paid only 225 euros for it. Still came with the plastic wrap and energy efficiency label attached. The original price was 700 euros.
It's very hard for me to go back down to 1440p from 4k. I tried an Ultragear 1440p/144hz and I absolutely love the high refresh rate, but since I've been working from home and also use my monitor for my PS5, it's a difficult compromise to make when the 4k monitor is just more comfortable for not-gaming.
helped me alot...was in a dilema should i go for a 27" 2K or 28" 4K, you opened my eyes and made me realize 4K is in the moment not a good choice for gaming, even with a rtx3080 and i don't video edit or make any hardcore office work where would i benefit from 4K. Tnx and keep on the good videos.
Going from 60hz to 144hz a few years ago was a revolutionary experience.. so was upgrading from a budget 1080p TN panel to a 1440p IPS panel lol. I really do think it's the sweet spot
@@calypsojordana3274 Depends what you're looking for. VA has worse colour reproduction, slow transitions/smearing and input delay. I'd go with IPS over VA every time for those reasons
@@tfromthasix1956 The good VA screens compete today with the best IPS screens on the problems you mention. And their contrast is so much better that in terms of image quality they are finally better than IPS on all points for casual games. And for competition, there are TN. If you can afford it and you don't do competition, a good VA screen will always be better than a very good IPS in terms of image quality.
@@calypsojordana3274 Thanks for the insight, you're more knowledgeable than me on the subject, but either way I'm more than satisfied with what I have at the moment..only issue is I haven't had literally any time to game since late November lol Edit: You said 'The good', which leads me to believe you're talking higher end panels right? To be fair the overwhelming majority aren't looking to spend that kind of money
80-120fps over higher resolution, I would expect anyone else to also agree that have experienced it. 120fps (or higher) + 1440p is just fantastic. I certainly do drop graphics settings to get 80fps+, because it is totally worth that clear image. People on a budget (low-mid range cards) should be damn happy cause that DLSS 2.0 is freaking amazing too. One day... we might be able to even buy the cards :P
I have a 2080 Super that still pushes my 1440p very well and is my preferred resolution. Although someday I hope to have a 3080 at MSRP, yes I can dream.
Awesome video as always. I'm 1080p 144Hz IPS squad myself. I really don't see the need for anything more personally. Maybe 1440P 144Hz IPS down the line. I am using a 3080 however.
In my experience 27 inch 1440p 144 Hz is the sweet spot for gaming. Give it 3-5 years and we might be at 4K 144 Hz but right now it requires too much GPU power to accomplish.
I do think it is worth springing for a 4k panel for the simple fact that you can turn down gameplay resolutions on the fly. This greatly benefits literally everything else you can do on a PC. Watching movies, UA-cam, web browsers, etc. The instant that 4k panels get around $400 I will definitely buy one.
Never thought of upgrading my 1080 60hz monitor, and probably in near future too, since my concern is finding a good gpu and psu with at least 6 years of productivity
im thinking of upgrading to 1440p but I fear that if I do that my work computer will also need to be upgraded to a 1440p monitor since people say you can't go back once you see 1440p.
I agree with you about TN panels. You didn't mention VA panels though. VA is a good option if you like curved monitors. If curved IPS monitors become more of a thing then my opinion will likely change.
Thank you so much for this video!! Totally relevant to my situation at the moment (just waiting for my 3080 I ordered last November to be delivered to me in a couple of months... 😫)
Honestly if I had a 3070 or maybe even a 3080 I’d still rock a 1080p very high refresh panel. I just personally prefer extreme smoothness while maxing out settings and not having to constantly fiddle with them to get to my “sweet spot”
Yea. Or when the next gen launches I’d go for 1440 144/165 and crank everything to max. I think compromising on one aspect and maxing our other two (fps, resolution, or graphics settings) is the best instead of trying to find some bland middle ground
I have a 3070 and honestly I max out my fps at 2k resolution. I have the same monitor next to it but in 1080p and I gotta say. Wow. 2k vs 1080p is a massive difference
damn, all these videos are such high quality definitely better than most tech UA-camrs I know this is like MKBHD level. Damn keep up the good working :)
First of all, thank you for making buying monitors easier for us. I want to game in 4K but at the same time also want to have the best frame rate so after some research, I found what seems to be 2 monitors standing on top of others which are Asus ROG Strix XG27UQ 4K 144Hz and Asus ROG Swift PG27UQ 4K 144Hz. Which one is best in your opinion?
I agree with everything in the video, but I also think it is important to "future proof" your monitor. For me, a monitor isn't something I change very often so if I buy a new one, I want it to be ready for any future upgrades I do to the rest of my rig. Right now, I am looking for a new monitor and with my 1060 graphics card, I doubt I can play many games in more than 1080p. However, I think the perfect monitor for me is a 1440p 144-165hz because who knows if I can change my GPU in 1-2 years.
Another good 1080p 144hz monitor for cheap is the Asus VP249QGR. I bought it last year for $160 and even with the skyrocketing prices of computer hardware it can still be had for around $200.

I've been using a 4K/60Hz monitor for over two years, and have come to love the detail. That being said, I've recently purchased a Samsung G7. There is still really good detail with the 1440p panel, but the higher refresh rate has absolutely spoiled me. Even if I'm not always getting that full 240fps.

Ive only started using a 1080p monitor last year since upgrading from a 768p monitor almost a decade ago. The main thing that would really make a difference is the refresh rate tbh. Going from 30fps to 60fps is huge to me at least. Have yet to try anything higher.
For me personally, I love to work on a 4k panel, but I really want high refresh rates when I'm gaming. I'm not gaming in 4k in most, if not all titles, but man I'd love me some freesync 144hz goodness. For those that haven't experienced it, run a windows desktop on a 27" 4k panel at 150% scaling. I can't go back to those ugly pixelated fonts anymore.
What's weird is that most movies are rendered at 2k 1440p but then upscaled to 4k, and if you play it on this it will be effectively downscaled to it's original resolution. Unfortunately 2k to 4k and back again doesn't scale well so by upscaling and then downscaling it will look fuzzy because every third pixel gets lost. I've never tried it but that would be my hypothesis. Unless the monitor miraculously gets rid of the same pixels that were interpolated in the first place.
I'm running a 3080 Ti and a 10900k on a 240hz 1080p monitor and I love it. I can run ultra-high frame rates with zero graphical compromises. I'll take higher and more consistent frame rates over higher resolutions all day every day.
I am good with 4k 60. I mostly play single player games as I want to relax while gaming and not take additional stress while competing with people and loosing again and again. Lol.
Heck I made it to the top five in unreal tournament deathmatch before and I don't even like to play multiplayer anymore. Stress free single player is the way to go lol.
1080ti x 1440p @ 144hz checking in here. 1440p feels like a great compromise for higher resolution while still allowing decent framerate. Maybe once I get a 3080 Ill consider a 4k monitor but I tend to like twitch shooters and 60hz might just not cut it anymore.
Another interesting question would be the state of gaming options for wider displays - 21:9 or 32:9 for instance. What are the best options currently, if you want that kind of width?
I had the GN27950-B for a while and both my friend and I had issues with HDR being blown out. Bright areas had no detail at all. It was fixable but a pain to do and only temporary. Now im just gonna wait for the PG32UQX.
I have a 4k 120hz display, which is obviously the pinnacle of all displays. You can't really get better gaming or productivity experience, especially because it's 48", coupled with the fact that's OLED means that everything just looks gorgeous. Story games feel super immersive and kind of like VR while multitasking on this screen is really easy. However, you do need serious some serious horsepower to drive this display. Even my RTX 3080 can struggle a bit with 120fps, but if you spend just a little time tweaking a few settings in the game, you can get it in basically any game. Forget about running it with anything less than an RTX 3080 though, and resolution scaling doesn't work either since it really looks like crap at 1440p and below because it's so large.
Can we talk about why the prices are so ridiculous? $900+ for 1080p 360hz IPS. $850 for 1440p 240hz IPS. $800 for 4K 160hz. That's far too much, Sigh...
I went from 1080p 144hz tn to 1440p 165hz ips, and even tho im running rx 480 that is getting to the point of barely enough at 1080p now in some more demanding games, i think it was better choice to go with 1440p. Most games i play would not be able to run at 240+ fps even on fastest cpus so i think 165hz is better choice for me. This higher resolution makes upscaling with FidelityFX Super Resolution better, so i can actually have better looking games with no performance loss from 1080p. And on linux i can use it in almost every game, making it better for me for games that work on linux.
Currently using a 24" 1080p monitor and I really like it, the screen size is awesome and feels immersive for me, I usually sit at an arm's length distance, around a meter maybe? Just thinking... would it be worth going 4K for console gaming? If so, would 32" be to big to use as a monitor?
I upgraded from a 1080p 24" to a 1440p 27" monitor since many people claim that it's a huge difference so I thought I was missing out but imo it's not that big of a difference at least from 24 1080p to 27 1440p. For me the more noticable upside is the bigger size from 24" to 27". It doesn't seem like much but in practice I feel more involved and engaged, even as a competitive fps player (csgo) I feel like it's advantagous. Everything is ofc bigger, more visible, it's easier to focus on enemy movement and thus gives more confidence in aiming, even while playing the same resolution I played on my 24" monitor. I hear and read everywhere people claiming a 24" is perfect for fps and a bigger size would be worse but my experience says otherwise. I wouldn't wanna play Singleplayer games on a 27" 1080p monitor though but for competitive fps players I'd say go for a 27". Ofc if you're a highly competitive fps player but also play Singleplayer games occasionally and you haven't got the money or specs for 1440p gaming then I would stick to 24" 1080p 240hz since 27" for Singeplayer games is indeed a lil' too pixelated.
I moved to §440p when I bought my 980ti (still got that!). Moved to a 2080super early lockdown (very good timing) but decided against 4K, and even now I think my overdue monitor upgrade may still be 1440p, but opt for some hdr and other bells & whistles rather than struggle occasionally pushing 4K
well tbf, monitor is the one you always look, and monitor is not something that you need to upgrade every 2 year or less, so investing in most expensive one is not a bad thing
It depends still. I have an almost top of the line PC right now. Basically the only thing is I'm running a 3080 instead of a 3090. But even with this I don't max out the refresh rate of 144hz when I run on max settings at 1440p. Right now I'm playing RDR2 and Cyberpunk at near max possible settings and both are around 90-110 fps at 1440p. Which is fine but if I were to try it on 4k it would be super shitty by comparison and a 3090 wouldn't make it much better. Long story short, you could be a billionaire and 1440p is still probably the way to go for at least a few more years. When they have video cards that can completely destroy new games at 4k then that will be the paradigm shift but that has not happened yet.
Mine is 144hz 4K so it's pretty future-proof. Currently using a 3090 and the FPS range from the 50s all the way to 144 depending on the game. Very happy with my setup.
I've got the LG Ultragear GN950-b (with the160Hz firmware) paired with a RTX 3090 - sweet experience although I'd really like LG to allow "DP Deep Sleep" as an option toggle in their OSD. My second rig with SLI'ed 1080TI's runs a 165Hz 1440p ASUS monitor.
Got a 3080ti recently and while I already had a 144Hz 1440p monitor, it was one of those BenQ TN ones he mentioned - just upgraded to a 170Hz IPS (Gigabyte M27Q) - partly for better colours but also because this one specific BenQ didn't have freesync.
Ive just bought a LG Ultragear 144hz monitor ... going from 60hz to 144hz is like night and day difference let alone 240hz 4K gaming which would be even more awesome.
@@DuBstep115 it gonna take a LOT of time to scale it down and be actually affordable maybe i exaggerated ... but 2030 seems reasonable for mainstream microLED
What's your opinion on 24" vs 27"? On csgo i never had any issues with 24". But on cod warzone i keep wondering if a 1440p 27" panel would make it easier to spot people. In these games the ranges are way longer than cs/valorant type games and enemies are way harder to spot.
I switched from a 1080p 144Hz TN panel to a 4K 60Hz 55" TV about four years ago, and I've never looked back. Higher resolution and better color fidelity really trumps refresh rate in the kind of games I play. I'll probably upgrade to a higher refresh rate when 4K 144Hz TVs become more affordable, especially at 55".
Yea I play on a 55' 4k TV as well. I think my next purchase will be a 60+ 120 hz 4K TV. That'll give a pretty high refresh rate with all the wild size and resolution bonuses of a TV.
@@hansolo631 the only downside to 4K is that right now, your only options are going with a 3080 or even a 3090 (since you'll need the extra VRAM for high res textures). And even today a 3090 struggles to hit 60 fps with 4K on raytraced titles, or even the non-RT ones with ridiculous postprocessing like Red Dead Redemption 2. I think out of all the modern games with raytracing, Control's the only one that can do 4K and raytracing, and still look absolutely amazing with quality DLSS.

I can relate. When I had the energy for gaming I had a shit system. Now all I do is stare at the RGB in my rig LOL.
Yeah, it does suck. I’m mostly too tired to touch my games. Funny how it works out that way.
Welcome to adulthood
As someone playing his way through a massive backlog, I can attest to this ;)
Still gonna be massive FPS drop, 1440 p is so much better even for those.
@Vaniq I can see what you mean. Some games don't hold up as well as others at higher resolutions. Yet other do and look great.
Witcher 3 is a great example of what you said. What a masterpiece of a game 😊

I figured I can save my money now, wait until I can get a newer GPU then buy the new 1440p monitor alongside, and keep this 1080p one as a secondary monitor.

I was thinking of upgrading my 3060ti to a 4070, and my 1080p 240hz to a 1440p 240hz.
Summary:
-No TN panel
-No 1080p (Except if you're reaaaally poor or)
-1440p For almost everyone
-4K for non-gamers or non-FPS gamers (Or rich people)
-At least 120hz even for non-gamers, 240+ for people really invested into fps games
-Ultrawide for immersive gameplay and flexible working space but able to accept a few drawbacks
-Anything less then HDR 1000 is not true HDR

I think the main benefit of a 4K display comes outside games. People always talk about how negligible the difference is in-game (which is mostly true) forgetting how much time we spend browsing and reading text, or using productivity applications with complex UIs, all of which look undeniably better on a HiDPI display.
This comment in underrated. I think most people have to make a choice because 1440p and 1080p can not multi task. if you are fine with this a single 1080p or 1440p is fine.
For more people who work at home from time to time or do spend a lot of times on the web have a benefit from multitask.
- 4k is able to go window side by side
- 1440p ultrawide is able to go window side by side
- 1440p and 1080p can always go 2 monitors to battle the mentioned conflict.
for the multitask purpose the choice will be one of the three.
I'm so glad I bought a 1440p 165hz IPS panel. It was very much worth the money. Much sharper than 1080p, much less performance cost than 4k. High resolution and high framerates. It's the most optimal resolution to game at right now. The sweet spot in my opinion

I bought Asus TUF VG259QM 1080p 280hz on Black Friday and love it.
High refresh rate is pointless unless you're an epic gam3r
1440p 165hz is still miles better than 1080p just for the sole fact that unless you play comp its basically all you need
High framerate is 100% manditory, resolution comes next. For example, 1440p/165Hz/IPS is still the ideal monitor.
27" 1440p w/144hz refresh is my personal sweet spot. Love it, 4k is nice but you need high end hardware to make use of it. 1440 can be run on older hardware easy enough now :)

I thought I had found the answer (at a reasonable price) in the ASUS TUF VG35V. Sadly, I didn't quite do my due diligence, and failed to notice is was a TN panel :/
I did use the new monitor for about 4-6 months, but all the eye candy in Cyberpunk made me realize how washed out the colors were on that monitor.

I gotta say.
I've always been rocking low pixel density displays : my very first PC (that I kept gaming on for 5 years) was a MSI laptop with a 15.6" 1366x768 resolution.
I then went to a 27" 1080p 60Hz panel, and about a year ago, I upgraded to a similar panel at 165Hz
And though I have a quite powerful PC (3700X + 2070S + 32GB RAM) I just DON'T see the benefit of going 1440p
I mean, I love the high refresh rate and i'm not bothered by the 1080^p resolution.

Your videos are so calm
With a 1440p they are not pixelated, and I run on 125%

Up to you but I just use my ps5 with my 1080p monitor and it looks just fine
Once you see the details at 4K, you can never go back even to 1440p!
You should try 8K. 4K looks very soft compared to 8K.

@@stickboy8219 It's two different display sizes, so you can't really compare it like that.
@@NekkeDeez yeah I suppose so mate
Preach!
Ofc if you're a highly competitive fps player but also play Singleplayer games occasionally and you haven't got the money or specs for 1440p gaming then I would stick to 24" 1080p 240hz since 27" for Singeplayer games is indeed a lil' too pixelated.
should've gone with 32" .-.
Great video. Toggled on the bell for all notifications.

So basically your answer is buy the most expensive one you can afford 🤣 sounds aboit right.
Nah, not everyone should buy 4k even if u have a high end pc.
well tbf, monitor is the one you always look, and monitor is not something that you need to upgrade every 2 year or less, so investing in most expensive one is not a bad thing
I don't know. I think Ali was saying buy the monitor that suites your setup
Do you have screen flashing black issue?
Optimum tech has the best minimalist aesthetics, kudos brah.
1440 240hz FTW! If only I had enough juice for it.

What's your opinion on 24" vs 27"? On csgo i never had any issues with 24". But on cod warzone i keep wondering if a 1440p 27" panel would make it easier to spot people. In these games the ranges are way longer than cs/valorant type games and enemies are way harder to spot.
in BR games, ive been able to spot people from far away much easier with my 1440p 27" panel compared to my old 1080p 24"
It’s important to find the balance between resolution and fps
looking forward to LG27GP850 launched.....wow what a super monitor
