What single strap sling back is that? I'm looking for something that size and configuration vs trying to carry a backpack on just one shoulder and having to tie up one hand to keep it there as I walk.
A rucksack can be useful for self defence but can also be a hindrance as it's something can be used to grab you, especially from the rear. I read, years ago about a criminal being held in custody who was naked or near naked and covered himself in vaseline to make himself difficult for the police to grab him. Not advocating that, just food for thought.🤔

I carry a weight belt, wood soled squat shoes and a 1.5ltr water bottle.

A can of beans in an inside pocket of the pack is good, if you have enough time you can throw at the attacker as a distraction then strike hard.
Especially if your attacker is hungry.
