I was alternating between the Q2 and the Q3 (to see if I could tell a difference on the graphics on some of the games) and the controllers on the Q3 feel a lot better to be ergonomically. One big thing I think this video is sorta missing is that the mixed reality is what is going to make this thing shine. True, there are not a ton of titles taking advantage of it yet, so there's no real reason to rush out and buy it. Even the free game that comes with it, doesn't come out until mid December, I believe. Meta should a done a better job making sure there were more titles to be excited about at launch.
I haven’t noticed any tracking issues with the quest three in Hyperdash. Aiming weapons is spot on and I don’t lose my boundary randomly like I did on the quest 2.
The biggest different in my opinion was the lenses alone which made the upgrade worth it for me - feels alot more immersive as you can see more - the fine tuning movement scroll on the outside was also a great addition. (upgraded from Q2 to Q3)
The upgrades are nice but I think if you have a quest 2, it may potentially be worth holding off for the 4 for the boost in resolution on top of what the 3 offers and *fingers crossed* eye tracking and better cameras for readability and mixed reality.
I love my Quest 3 but there's no getting around the obvious - this thing will live and die on Meta getting developer buy in on mixed reality apps and games. Not having a strong library to roll out with this was a very Meta thing to do
Could not agree more on both counts. MR is what is going to set thing apart, and Meta should have had more titles to be excited about a launch. Even the game that comes free with it, isn't out for a few months.

i ordered the 512GB MQ3, it comes in a couple days. can't wait for it. the bobovr m3 pro headstrap releases October 20th as it says on their website. I'm going to need the better head strap and extra batteries to play longer since I heard the battery life on the MQ3 is a 2-3 hours since the new lighting and graphics takes a tole on the battery life. but, anyways im pretty hyped to play some breachers and contractors.
Contractors? Don't expect much, it looks and plays the same on the Q3. If there is a difference, it's negligible. I have the Q2 and Q3 and also own that game.
@@markymoo22 Get a power bank (if you play only with games on the headset). I bought an ADATA 10Ah with a 5V/3A (2,4 required) that fits perfectly in any pocket for 20€. That is 6+ hours of battery life.

just wanted to say it has 4 speakers not 2 and i find it quite a big improvement over the 2 could just be my old eyes and the lack of clarity on the 2 it did give me more headaches.

You can Pin at least two apps onto your main lower UI dashboard at the bottom for constant easy Access but that's about it for customization app wise unfortunately, As stupid as it is you can't add more than that making for a maximum of 5 total, The Store, Explore and People pins are un removable (Despite me never using any of them amyways and launching from library directly most times as is. But either way you can have 2 custom quivk apps, but it can only be done after you remove Camera and Browser from the quick UI list by going to your library, searching them both up and right-clicking on the ... Icon them selecting unpin from universal menu. It's very dumb and ridiculous yes, but it does help a little bit. Hope this helps at least one innocent soul out there.
I have a Quest 2 and just got a Quest 3. I like everything about the Quest 3 except the comfort. The plastic around the lenses press on the bridge and the sides of my nose. It must be the way my face is shaped. I'm hoping a better facial interface will fix this.
I've heard others say that in some videos, and yet oddly, I find it more comfortable with than the Q2. Idk, how long you wearing it at single session? I try to take breaks every 20-30 minutes.
It doesn't take long to start making my face hurt. My Quest 2 is super comfortable. I have a nice facial interface and the Bobovr m2 pro. Once they release the conversion kit to use the m2 pro on the Quest 3, I will get it.

Had the Quest 2 for about an year or two and I was really into it until I got bored and didn't touch the headset again for some time. I will surely get the Quest 3 just because of these upgrades, and I am sure that tracking will get sorted out soon, but it feels like a solid upgrade from the Quest 2. I really hated that strap, the bloody thing wouldn't sit on, so I had to splurge an extra 50$ for the upgraded version :D
120Hz is no longer an 'experimental' feature on the Quest3. The 120Hz option has been moved to the main menu system now and has become a current (permanent) feature.
The quest 2 is currently on an amazon black friday deal for £248 with £50 amazon credit so kinda £200?? Im tempted to get it (ive never used vr before) but is the 3 worth waiting for?
Don't listen to this dude! With respect but it's absolutely worth upgrading. The q2 is blurry with tunnel vision and is old now. The Q3 brings you closer to the dream of fully immersion vr. Much clearer with a far better fov, gpu 2.6 times more powerful. The q2 always felt short whereas as the q3 takes it over the line of where vr needs to go. The mixed reality is nice as well although you'll need a well lit room or broad daylight to see it as clear as possible. Just buy it❤
I'm surprised you found the tracking worse when throwing hooks. Unless you were really tucking your chin and throwing them above the headset. Should be better tracking below head level and worse above.
First time in my life I've heard a VR headset called a helmet. Also, you are definitively having an issue with your Q3. The tracking is much better for me.
I find tracking is better with Eleven Table Tennis, so maybe you have a dodgy controller, the battery is loose, a camera isn't working properly, the games you used haven't been configures well, or most likely the hand tremors from years of alcohol abuse, confuses the hell out of the hand tracking AI😂
I have the quest 2, and I can assure you if I didn't have one I'd definitely snag the 3. Clarity makes a world of difference. Memory and CPU are secondary.
Do not get the 2. A few years ago I tried the quest 2 for a week and then returned it. The image was to blurry and the FOV was small. The pancake lenses alone make the 3 much better. I will be picking up a 3 probably in the next few months.

95% of my time is on Beatsaber and it is very apparent that the tracking is worse (at least with this game) than quest 2. I am able to miss blocks on quest 3 and not able to miss any on quest 2 in normal mode. Anyway, it seems they haven't fixed it yet.

Bought the MQ2 last weak. Was a little disappointed with the price of the games and almost no for free, but found out that there is Sidequest. It is a bit fiddly to install (have to install on PC, than allow developer mode on the MQ2, install it form PC via usb cable to the headset bla, bla, bla...) Sidequest is full of free games and some VR mods for existing PC games like Jedi Knight: Jedi outcast. A blast from the past playable on the headset it self. And it is awesome. Bought a better head strap from Kiwi, a power bank that fits in the pocket, so 8+ hours of battery life, kids can play and you can simply charge it over night. I will wait a year or two to upgrade. For now I am perfectly satisfied with what I have. And who knows what there will be in two years?
I had to exchange a 512gb model. I’m not sure what was wrong but the screen looked hazy, there was a dead pixel, the focus wheel didn’t want to turn, the right remote joystick and buttons made noise. Seems to be some quality control issues with them, the Best Buy employee said I wasn’t the first with the dead pixel issue to do an exchange
They would have sold way more if they just added quest pro style controllers and forgot about passthrough tbh they forgot about the biggest market gorilla tag players wich need good tracking
If you still have the pico 4 can you do an update to see if any of the niggles you were having have been ironed out? I wouldn't mind getting either the quest 2 (now its discounted) or the pico 4 so I can trick myself into exercise.
Agree if you have a Meta Ques 2 there is no currently a reason to upgrade to Quest 3... but is the same from Iphone 14 to 15 day 1 No? or from Ps4 to Ps5 at day 1. this is a common sense... but I did the upgrade and is MASSIVE... is just 2 generation better so for me if you are new to VR go with Quest 3. If you have the Quest 2... sell it and buy the Quest 3 :P.

Yes aiming down the sights on a gun is way better on the Q3. Without those rings getting in the way mixed with the pancake lenses making the headset more flatter you can aim get up close when aiming down sights

Why they have a storage not like oculus rift S, so I can play without using the PC and store games in it? Problem is Its been like 7 years of vr now and they still have dick all in terms of decent games. the only ok one is resident evil 4. They couldnt even make good on there gta san andreas announcement 3 years later
I'm 31 yo and havent bought another vr because shooters seem to be the only real thing they make for it! Zero interest, nowhere near as good as playing on pc or ps5. I want sports and boxing/fighting. There is thrill of the fight but can tell it cost £8...... Only issue for me. Even psvr2 doesnt have anything other than the shitty creed game
Sorry mate. Wrong! 128gb is just a regret coming to knock on your door in few months. Many games are getting upgrades of several gigs and the newer games are going to much bigger in the future. Also the Quest 2 has been capable of 120hz for nearly 2 years already.
@@MidwestPyro55 This is what I've done. And the truth is, only the big titles like Saints and Sinners take up huge space. I rarely play more than a few of those at any given time and uninstalling and reinstalling them later is not a huge deal.
Went from Quest 2 to Quest 3 and I'm really happy with the upgrade. The clarity at the edges of the screen is the most significant upgrade imo.

It's been a fantastic upgrade from the Quest 2, totally enjoying. Only downer is the BoboVR M3 battery headstrap isn't out yet.

Quest 2 def had 120hz as “experimental”. Quest 3 has it officially in the normal settings.

For standard users the 500 plus apps and games will keep them occupied. The others are in the pipeline.

I never once had a real problem with the rings on the Quest 2 controllers. Odd, they decided to lower the tracking fidelity for no real reason...

My battery life is diabolical. About an hour and it then needs recharging again. Quest 2 lasted twice as long.

They would have sold way more if they just added quest pro style controllers and forgot about passthrough tbh they forgot about the biggest market gorilla tag players wich need good tracking
It would sadly have cost as much, if not more, then the pro then. The controllers on the pro is a major part as to why that headset is so expensive.

If you still have the pico 4 can you do an update to see if any of the niggles you were having have been ironed out? I wouldn't mind getting either the quest 2 (now its discounted) or the pico 4 so I can trick myself into exercise.

Agree if you have a Meta Ques 2 there is no currently a reason to upgrade to Quest 3... but is the same from Iphone 14 to 15 day 1 No? or from Ps4 to Ps5 at day 1.
this is a common sense... but I did the upgrade and is MASSIVE... is just 2 generation better so for me if you are new to VR go with Quest 3. If you have the Quest 2... sell it and buy the Quest 3 :P.

Yes aiming down the sights on a gun is way better on the Q3. Without those rings getting in the way mixed with the pancake lenses making the headset more flatter you can aim get up close when aiming down sights
Im new to VR should i spend 200 more for the Q3 or save 200 for the Q2 it will mainly be used for family fun especially after a drink at xmas but i will use it myself please help.

Currently I have Oculus Rift S and before I buy Meta Quest 3 I just need know few things if someone can help me and answer me please.
1. Why they have a storage not like oculus rift S, so I can play without using the PC and store games in it? I am willing to use it with PC only, so it doesn’t matter if I get the 128gb or 512gb right?
2. Is there any difference in graphics performance if Meta quest 3 will be connected wirelessly compared to wired? Does it have a long display port wire like Rift S?
3. Will I see a huge difference in picture quality? As I can see pixels while playing on Oculus Rift S and the picture isn’t that crisp

Monitors are always better get the quest 3 for other reason

as long as you have a modern gpu (id say rtx 30 series or higher) it works great on pc, especially wireless through the virtual desktop app

In bigscreen I did notice a difference but it's small, nice but small kind of like all improvements I've noticed.
Problem is Its been like 7 years of vr now and they still have dick all in terms of decent games. the only ok one is resident evil 4. They couldnt even make good on there gta san andreas announcement 3 years later

I'm 31 yo and havent bought another vr because shooters seem to be the only real thing they make for it! Zero interest, nowhere near as good as playing on pc or ps5.
I want sports and boxing/fighting. There is thrill of the fight but can tell it cost £8...... Only issue for me. Even psvr2 doesnt have anything other than the shitty creed game

Sorry mate. Wrong! 128gb is just a regret coming to knock on your door in few months. Many games are getting upgrades of several gigs and the newer games are going to much bigger in the future. Also the Quest 2 has been capable of 120hz for nearly 2 years already.
All depends if you use it for pc vr or not. For me the 128 is fine as all my games run through steam.

Games install fast. Just uninstall and reinstall games and save some money
@@MidwestPyro55 This is what I've done. And the truth is, only the big titles like Saints and Sinners take up huge space. I rarely play more than a few of those at any given time and uninstalling and reinstalling them later is not a huge deal.
there's Sidequest so you can always backup your games and saves even without Cloud Saves.
