I like a lot of these controllers features it’s the little innovations that make me feel like this is a great controller such as being able to replace the sticks and the velcro bit on the carrying case. I also love the design however, whilst when new the glossy finish looks great as you said it will just attract fingerprints. And I wish they upgraded the battery. Overall if I had a ps5 I would be getting the controller it’s too cool not to
It might just be slow at updating or they may not be shipping until the morning of release. I'd be patient with it and just wait through the day to see if it gets here on time, I hope it does for your sake! :) Even if not, it is worth the wait as it is a great controller!
@@Octorious good to hear! I know the battery life sucks but I don’t stream and my PlayStation is close enough to the couch it doesn’t bother me having to plug it in
If you have a look at the internals, it makes sense. There is hardly any room left in that thing, nevermind room for a larger battery. For me, like I mentioned in the video, the battery life is plentiful for my use. I'm getting around 7 hours in haptic and trigger intensive games so disable those and I reckon 9-10 hours.
hello friend beautiful video, do you want to make a video where you explain the whole program zina mirta, trigger what it does and the various reactions of the aim curve I play a lot of warzone 2 at the limit if you can make a video for warzone 2 settings? thanks
Thank you so much! As mentioned in the video, I will have a guide out at some point explaining the different options in the UI in more detail, though these things take time so please be patient. :) I'm sure there are others with guides coming soon or maybe even already out too! :D
Only good thing about it is the changeable sticks.. My other controller I built with extreme rate , mouse clicks and trigger stops with 4 back buttons is better..
Love this controller, pick it up on launch day, been using it ever since, love playing MW2 while having the back buttons programmed for reload and jump, make this a must have on any FPS games. The remapping the dead zone sensitivity make this controller even better for my own liking!
If a specific game fails to recognise the controller is connected, first make sure Steam doesn't have priority, and if that still doesn't fix it, then you can always use something like DS4 Windows to make it work. :)
Nice! Excited for you! :) 6+ hours is plenty for me tbh as with the charging station, it is always charged when I sit down to play and I rarely play for anymore than 6 hours at a time these days, but I understand the want for more.
Maybe dial down haptics, turn off the controller mic, turn off sounds coming from the controller, dim the lights on the controller. Thats basically all you can do to get more batt life. Any other tips appreciated.
I am just scared to buy it cause the controller has 6 hours of battery before dying completely and that 6 cloud go down to 4 something hours and that’s why I am hesitant to buy it…
I don't think it will drop by that much at all tbh. From my testing, i'm getting a pretty consistent 7 hours whilst playing games such as Spider-Man, which utilises both the haptics and adaptive triggers. Let me know if you make a decision to definitely get it or not get it though :) I hope this review was useful :D
Fair enough! Like I mentioned in the video, it really is not a problem for me as 6 hours or so is as long as I'll play for at max in one sitting anyway, and with the charging station, it is always full when I first pick it up :) I absolutely understand you pov though! Hope you enjoyed the video :D
The only thing I hate is they only have 2 paddles on the back. It should have been 4 paddles. That's why I bought the razer wolf v2 plus they have extra two buttons on top
Agreed, it would've been perfect if there were 4 paddle slots as I mentioned at the end. I'm hoping we get another version in the future where that's an option, but we'll see!
The Dualsense Edge is a really good controller but not for fast pace competitive shooters. It'll be ok if your just getting started with a pro controller. It's better for games like Doom type games and racing games. I own scuf, Hex, and Aim controllers there just way better. Hex is the absolute best in my opinion. The Dualsense Edge is ok for Fortnite aswell.
I’m buying it tomorrow I’ve done my research and Edge is Winner ! Scuff are not durable and their customer service sucks .. imagine waiting months too fix stick drift lol .. btw how much is a scuff ? 200-250 .. other then the battery life PlayStation makes best controllers look at Astro C40 .. guess who licensed controller Sony ..
Definitely think you're making a good choice with the Edge! You can't go wrong with it; build quality is great and the feature set is incredible. I hope you enjoy your new pro controller when you get it! 😊
what is not durable about a scuff that is already not durable on a regular dualsense? Scuff controller are not 3rd party controllers. scuff only modifies some components and adds some. The stick drift is also not the fault of scuff. because scuff does not change the stick modules or the potentiometers, wich cause the drift. So even if your only mentioned that they take to long to fixe the drift, and you did not say anything about it being scuffs fault istill put ot in my comment just to let you know why your sticks can develop drift. Potentiometers have moving resistors that rub against each other. This then measures the current and determines the position of the stick Sony should have used hall effect sensors for this new controller. Hall effect sensors use magnets (no moving parts that can break or wear down). So hall effect sensors can not drift that easily (not saying they can never develop drift) but they are alot more resistent to it. I hope gulikit comes out with replacable hall effect stick modules for the new edge.
Yes :) It even remembers your last used profile on the PS5 (including deadzone settings etc), though I hope there will be software released that allows everything to be customised directly on PC too for those without the console.
@@Octorious yeah that's what I'm worried about. I've ordered it but don't know whether to just send it straight back when it arrives as I don't own a PS5
There is a lot more to it than that, but I understand everyone values the different features and stuff differently. I hope you enjoyed the review and found it useful anyway :)
For me, I love having the ability to actually switch between full trigger length or it being shorter. If you compare it to something like a Scuf though, Scuf's instant triggers are fully digital, so like a mouse click. The Edge just reduces the input range by about 2 thirds I'd guess, which is awesome and better than most controllers but in comparison to fully digital triggers, it isn't as fast. Still very good though! I hope you enjoyed the review :)
Us: Hey Sony. Can we have the same paddle attachment thats sold for the DS4? Sony: best we can do is a 200 dollar controller with replacement sticks at 2o bucks a pop. Us: cant you buy those in pairs for 10bucks? Sony: ignore that. You must love it ponies.. Bend over.
Unbiased review??? You probably play twice a year if you don't have stick drift, Sony controllers fail after just 2 months of use, so that's the reason Sony do replacement sticks . Instead of moving to magnetic one, which is actually game changer
I play quite a lot but I do have several controllers so switch between quite a bit. I also don't push the sticks aggressively like I know many who suffer with stick drift too. This review is unbiased and I did mention some issues I have with the controller myself, as well as some things I'd have rather seen. There is more to the choice of using potentiometers than just money too. Hall effect sensors require a constant voltage supplied to them, which is higher than the variable voltage that potentiometers used, and would therefore kill the controller much, much, much quicker. With the battery already needing to be reduced in order to fit whilst still keeping all the other parts in the same shell, Sony couldn't then use a bigger battery to counter this without making more sacrifices elsewhere in the control. They had to make compromises and this is the direction they took it. There's more to it than just "oh they could have used this technology instead and everything else be the same".
the absolute unmitigated nerve of these literal greedbags to come out with a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR controller after having YEARS of controllers with stick drift AND NEVER fixing it. Literally a class action lawsuit against them and yet here we are.
The better solution would have been to use hall effect sensors to combat drift. Sony are just cheapskates. Hall effect sensors are only a few cent more expensive then potentiometers. Lukily whe have gulikit that are going to realse replacable thumstick modules with hall effect sennsors. Only problem is it can take a whiel for them to make these.
I can definitely understand that view, and agree it would have been interesting to see hall effect sensors used. However, from my understanding, hall effect sensors only work at a set, constant voltage right, which is also much higher than the potentiometers used? They've already had to reduce the battery size to fit everything else in the controller, so using hall effect sensors would lead to an even higher power draw and I suppose they deemed that a risk they didn't want, knowing battery life would already be considered as "poor" by many. They have a set budget for these things and need to try to turn a profit, so it does make sense, and like you say, 3rd parties will create other stick modules anyway! :)
@@Octorious maybe your right on the voltage part, but the cost of hall effect sensors is not that high. i know of two companies that solely rely on the sale of their controller for the most part of their profit. and their controller only cost 60 dollars, and the other cost 70 dollars. Both also have gyro sensors and accelrerometers. Gulikit only has one controller and a few hall effect replacement kits. Most of their profit come from the sale of the king kong pro 2 controller (60 dollars). so even at that price it is cost effective. Sony is just greedy. they could use hall effect sensors on their normal Dualsense controller, but they also don''t use them. Microsoft has the cheapest controller to produce because it lacks all of the other bells and whistles and even they are to cheap to add it.
Way too expensive. The Microsoft elite series 2 way better and $90 cheaper if you have an Xbox. I’m sticking with the PS5 dual sense as $339 is ridiculous for a controller. I wouldn’t pay more than $180 for it.
Fair enough, everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion! :) It absolutely depends on your personal situation as to whether it is worth it for you and your gaming needs. What I can say for sure, is that it is an excellent controller and one of the best pro options out there.
I bet it gets joystick drift, plastic trigger hinges breaking, or torn button pads just like every other modern controller I buy. Nothing is made to last these days, all planned obsolescence china junk. My xbox ones and third party break all the time...
I can't comment as I haven't had it long enough. Theoretically, it is capable of developing stick drift, but we don't know how often or soon this will occur. I've not had any issue with any PS5 controllers yet though, and like you've noticed from the video, it is very easy to replace anyway. I'm not sure, but if drift develops within a certain span after purchase, it wouldn't surprise me if Sony would supply the new module right to you. That's just my brain going off on one though, I have no real idea regarding that! With how this controller feels, I don't see trigger hinges breaking, and I don't see the pads tearing either. So you shouldn't have to worry about that, that's more an issue with Scufs from my personal experience.
The sound from RB or LB shouldn’t happen my LB was silent on short and RB sounded horrendous PlayStation support said it was a fault unit returned clearly highlighted this in video to prevent complaints to Sony for poor build. Wouldn’t trust reviews where the unit has been gifted he won’t give this a bad review blacklists reviewers from further products.
Total rip off, of Micro soft XBOX series X/S controller I have at home, so much so uncreative sony has all the acessories like micro soft, madness $200 for this lazy rip off bs from sony.
Agreed :) On the rubberised grips, I actually feel like the inside white portion is made from a more grippy material than the regular dualsense or the rest of the edge. It's something I noticed yesterday after the review was already up hence it wasn't mentioned.
I didn't even realise this when making the review, but there kind of are grips! The inner part of the controller on the back, beyond the black glossy cut, is made of a grippier material than the rest and with that being where your fingers naturally lay, is pretty good! It's so subtle but actually really good.
@@jamesd0ng440 sort of rubbery feeling and also soft ish. Not sure how to describe it tbh 😅 The ps icons are the same on it though, if anything slightly less obviously there
@James D0ng don't expect it to be obvious. It is subtle, but done well in a way where you don't actively know it is there unless you look for it. Let me know what you think if you do get one :)
I disagree. It highly depends on your own personal situation of course, but this controller is incredibly good. In comparison to other pro controllers priced similarly, it also comes with more equipment and a couple extra features. I think you are more against pro controllers as a whole rather than specifically the Dualsense Edge, am I right? 😅
@@Octorious if the price of a single controller which btw lasts 4 hours, less than the normal one, is as much as half of a console then yeah I'm against em. They offer a bit of customizability and a few extra features, but definitely not worth 4 times the price of a normal one. If somebody has money to throw away then go ahead, but u are just supporting these ridiculous prices. But oh well, if Sony knew these controllers are for a few individuals only and this will have low sales then I don't care

I haven't replied to everyone on this video yet, but I'll get to it. If you want to think what you want to think, then you are free to do so, but the truth is because it sparks engagement with users which I not only enjoy, but it results in the video being pushed out more. I also love the design however, whilst when new the glossy finish looks great as you said it will just attract fingerprints. And I wish they upgraded the battery. Overall if I had a ps5 I would be getting the controller it’s too cool not to
Completely agree with all this! Thanks so much for watching; I appreciate it a ton and I hope you enjoyed it 😊
the part of the controller with the glossy finish does look annoying however most of the time i don’t actually touch that part of my ps5 controller
Analogic stick is better for aim in FPS games?
Absolutely! :)
Does it work on pc tho?
Yes! It also remembers all your settings on your last used profile, including deadzones.
@@Octorious awesome thank you !
@@Sudden-Death if you have any issues with it working on any games, look up DSX and use that too :)
Wish it had 4 paddles, only reason I considered the scuff
Is it backwards compatible to the ps4?
Just as much as the other Dualsense controllers are so no, not really. Only way to get it to work is to go through remote play.
At Best Buy with the geek squad warranty it’s $272 no thanks I’ll wait until it goes on sale
I’m a little annoyed with them, part of me ordered for the release day delivery… has not even shipped yet and releases tomorrow 😑
I notice that on mine too I’m like wth unless they just haven’t updated everything until they deliver it it happens like that sometimes
Maybe it already has shipped they just got so many orders they can’t update them all
It might just be slow at updating or they may not be shipping until the morning of release. I'd be patient with it and just wait through the day to see if it gets here on time, I hope it does for your sake! :) Even if not, it is worth the wait as it is a great controller!
I ordered it this morning and it sayed it's shipped by noon. Your will definitely be shipping in the next few hours before ups closes
@@Octorious good to hear! I know the battery life sucks but I don’t stream and my PlayStation is close enough to the couch it doesn’t bother me having to plug it in
I really wanna get one and hopefully I will be able to soon, but why PS didnt update the battery on this controller is beyond me 🤷♂️
If you have a look at the internals, it makes sense.
It'll be probably be possible to get a better battery but i mean I'd stick to the cable anyway. I'ma have to just order me one
are there any xbox controllers with easy to replace components that arent all soldered to the board & made of cheap plastics?
I think Thrustmaster do some that are modular and swappable.
I hope mine comes in soon.
I hope so too! Do you have it yet?
Only good thing about it is the changeable sticks.. My other controller I built with extreme rate , mouse clicks and trigger stops with 4 back buttons is better..
I do love eXtremeRate tbf! I like the feel of the paddles on the Edge more though tbh.
Why would anyone want stick drift, it should be 0 drift standard. Also why aren't back paddles just standard on all controllers now?
I'm assuming this hasn't hit stores yet? Can't find it no where listed online.
It’s only on PlayStation direct not in stores or other websites only on Sony website
@@alonzomiller5980 gotcha. Thanks for the info
Like Alonzo has said, just PS Direct for now. It'll be coming to other retailers throughout February.
Love this controller, pick it up on launch day, been using it ever since, love playing MW2 while having the back buttons programmed for reload and jump, make this a must have on any FPS games. The remapping the dead zone sensitivity make this controller even better for my own liking!
for anyone want it to play mw2 on pc on battlenet or other battlenet games i dont work at all...not even recognized.
If a specific game fails to recognise the controller is connected, first make sure Steam doesn't have priority, and if that still doesn't fix it, then you can always use something like DS4 Windows to make it work. :)
Can’t wait to get mine tomorrow. Ordered 2 since the battery life is shit
Love the controller
Samesies :D
Does this controller come with some type of warranty. The regular ps5 controllers do. I wonder if this does?
Yes, 12 months complete warranty I believe. :) Thanks for watching!
I wish it had 4 back buttons…
Me too! It would be PERFECT for me with 4 back buttons.
Astro C40 is the OG
Ima order it this Tuesday why not I play a lot of warzone
Sounds like a good plan! Let me know what you think of it 😊
This controller is game changing!
Get it?
Game....changing....?
Sigh I suck at puns
I think I get it? 😅😂😂 Thanks for watching 😊
@@Octorious it really was thank you
nice but for the battery that they didn't enhance it's a big "NO" for me.👎
Fair enough! Like I mentioned in the video, it really is not a problem for me as 6 hours or so is as long as I'll play for at max in one sitting anyway, and with the charging station, it is always full when I first pick it up :) I absolutely understand you pov though! Hope you enjoyed the video :D
Hey Octorious you should pin this comment
You know what, sure! I never ever do this but I'll pin you for an hour or so 🤪
I’m getting one I need it
Mane I love this controller and it worth it
The only thing I hate is they only have 2 paddles on the back.
I disagree.
This then measures the current and determines the position of the stick
Sony should have used hall effect sensors for this new controller. Hall effect sensors use magnets (no moving parts that can break or wear down). So hall effect sensors can not drift that easily (not saying they can never develop drift) but they are alot more resistent to it. I hope gulikit comes out with replacable hall effect stick modules for the new edge.
It will be worth when it costs half the money. Not the 250 dollars/euros it costs right now
And the waiting for getting the ordered controller shipped has begon.. and yeah no costumer service available ofcourse… Shame on you Sony.
Does it work OK on the PC??
Yes :) It even remembers your last used profile on the PS5 (including deadzone settings etc), though I hope there will be software released that allows everything to be customised directly on PC too for those without the console.
@@Octorious yeah that's what I'm worried about. I've ordered it but don't know whether to just send it straight back when it arrives as I don't own a PS5
Most definitely buying
Aweesomee!
your mic boom tho lmaoo
Yeahh it's a pretty cheap budget one haha. Nice and easy quick access though :)
I love it 💯
Me too! :D
im sorry 340 aussie bucks is just way too much for what im getting. which is basically 2 back buttons
There is a lot more to it than that, but I understand everyone values the different features and stuff differently. I hope you enjoyed the review and found it useful anyway :)
@@Octorious I really liked the video and the review 👍
@Lightly Fried Fish Fillets really pleased to hear that, thanks! 😊💙
@@Octorious no worries mate
What is the impression of using shorter triggers when shooting? The reviews complain that it could be shorter. What are your feelings?
Bend over.
Way to pricy in Denmark. I can buy half a PS5 console for same price as 1 controller.
It’s 200£ I could almost get a ps4 with that
Unbiased review???
I just ordered mine lol this video being 69th one I've watched on this thing lol
Haha awesome, bet you can't wait! Was this video the best one? 🤪
@@Octorious it was. Liked!
For anyone that has preordered it… has it shipped yet?
Edit - It has shipped now.
Not mine, no email yet, and they said it was pre order and it would be guaranteed delivery release date :/
Not yet my brother. Hopefully by the end of the day
Yeah same nothing yet I even reached out to them on Twitter too. Nothing no feedback
It might not be shipping until the morning of release day. I wouldnt stress about it, you'll get it soon! :)
@@Octorious I just got the email that it shipped! 😁
the absolute unmitigated nerve of these literal greedbags to come out with a TWO HUNDRED DOLLAR controller after having YEARS of controllers with stick drift AND NEVER fixing it.
Doesn’t work on pc?
Yes it does! :) It also remembers all your settings on your last used profile, including deadzones.
You can get a ps4 for 200$
This is only worth buying if you actually need it for super competitive gaming or something.
Fair enough, everyone is of course entitled to their own opinion! :) It absolutely depends on your personal situation as to whether it is worth it for you and your gaming needs. What I can say for sure, is that it is an excellent controller and one of the best pro options out there.
Wrong. This is absolutely worth it for those who can afford it
I used to smoke cigs and I quit so 200 bucks aint even my cig money .Hopefully its here tomorrow . Great vid btw !
No Hall Effect sensor sticks and triggers?
NO BUY!
This is just another marketing scam by sony, ur better of buying a Gulikit. Overall better product!
I bet it gets joystick drift, plastic trigger hinges breaking, or torn button pads just like every other modern controller I buy. Nothing is made to last these days, all planned obsolescence china junk. My xbox ones and third party break all the time...
wow i see at 10:15, they made the components easily replaceable, that's actually very surprising
Scuffs get them more , and you’ll have to send your entire controller over to scuff after month they’ll send it back fixed ..
Only two back buttons, deal breaker unfortunately
Yeah I wish it had 4 too! Hopefully they release another version in the future taking our criticisms into account :)
@@Octorious give it time and they’ll release the dual sense edge pro with 4 back buttons.
Greedy Sony.
over 200 dollars? Its absolutely not worthy it...
It's not worth it very uncomfortable to play to much custom everything is good carrying case but far as enjoyable not it Sony doing to much

7.5/10 for me. Battery Life, Rubberized grips and 4 paddles would have been perfect.
Agreed :) On the rubberised grips, I actually feel like the inside white portion is made from a more grippy material than the regular dualsense or the rest of the edge. It's something I noticed yesterday after the review was already up hence it wasn't mentioned.

Heck yeah! Thank you for the support! :D
No rubber grips not worth it
I didn't even realise this when making the review, but there kind of are grips! The inner part of the controller on the back, beyond the black glossy cut, is made of a grippier material than the rest and with that being where your fingers naturally lay, is pretty good! It's so subtle but actually really good.
@@Octorious interesting, is it plastic or just thicker imprinted button shapes?
@@jamesd0ng440 sort of rubbery feeling and also soft ish. Not sure how to describe it tbh 😅 The ps icons are the same on it though, if anything slightly less obviously there

Short answer; No
Better answer. Yes
@@humanoreo1457 simple logical answer NO. It definitely isn't worth half the price of the console itself
This is not for you… I’m sure you can find smth cheaper for your budget tho.
