What’s weird is how so many content creators forget certain details about events perhaps bc maybe they were in diapers, but one of iMessage selling features was that it bypassed the Telecom messaging service fee which was separate from your telephone service. Telephone companies regularly sold text messaging packages along side your telephone service. S. Jobs gladly boasted about circumventing these, in retrospect, ridiculous added fees. But no one covers this because they were in diapers or elementary school at the time. So, you’re welcome!!
Yeah, people try to circumvent everything throughout their lifetime. It's a constant game of cat and mouse. Circumventing the messaging service of the Telecom is good, but you still need Internet to be able to send a message to someone through iMessage. And if it is not the Telecom company, it will be a Broadband provider. You might use the Wi-fi in a coffee shop, but at the end of the day somebody pays to the service providers, and the so called free Wi-Fi is included in your bill. So, 'circumventing' exists in another world where everything is free for all and forever... The problem comes with the GREED factor - if you are giving/providing something to someone (service, product), you expect something in return, i.e payback, ROI, profit, call whatever first comes to your mind. Voila, Telecom SMS and Data, service falls into this category. It's provided by a business, this business has to survive somehow for longer, to continue providing the service you need. Thus, we, the consumers have to pay them. The telecom is the "man in the middle". Unless you have developed certain extraterestrial capabilities like teleportation, telekinesis, etc. "the man in the middle" is unavoidable...for now... UNFORTUNATELY ☎
Nope Apple made iMessages, it’s theirs, and they and only they have the right to decide what to do with it.

Apple is not a monopoly, anywhere
They developed the technology using open source, but added their own to it to make it what it is today. Apple spent time and money to develop iMessaging to what it is today. They provided a solution to their consumer base. They are not monopoly because there’s only one iPhone yet hundreds of android phones. The monopoly argument is just invalid as a whole.
I think any company that makes a product is not obliged to give away their upgraded features to entitled whiners who don’t want to purchase the product.
This is my thought exactly. When companies design, they design for their products not everybody else's. If you want the new features on a device, you buy that particular device. Problem solved.

People don't want imessage they want clear videos and pics period all Android owners want is when they get a video from an iPhone they want to see it clearly. I've used Google Messages for years and now I have an iPhone and to be honest Google Messages in my opinion is better. Once Apple opens RCS I will be going back to Andriod I can't wait.

I would be pissed if someone told me that I need to give away a product that I have created. Apple created iMessage and it should stay on Apple devices. Like the man said, if you like the features that iMessage have then take your cheep ass to an Apple Store.
I completely agree! I think that if you are a company and you make something. Be it hardware, software or BOTH. It's completely your right to sell it and keep the products in your company. So if you make a computer or a phone and you have your own software with it, it's completely in your right to lock that in to an eco-system. Because in the end, that's what makes it better anyway. It ties together perfectly!
I personally have both a Mac Pro (book air m1.) And i have an iPhone X. They work so good together and it makes my life easier. I know it sounds cliché, sure. But it's truth. It all just works. Now of course, it is all ridiculously expensive. Absolutely. Though, when looking around at smartphones, well, a lot of them are $1K+ nowadays. The computer is another story though... 😅
The only thing i miss in my Apple eco-system is an Apple Watch. I have health issues, so a hartmonitor and CO2 device on my wrist would be nice!

I just want apple to give me the ability to type a iMessage now and schedule it to sent in 3 hours, or to send at the same time every day, week, month.
Something so basic today, Apple still doesn't have it in their award winning ( gag choak gag ) iMessage app.
Apple needs to take one friggin year and give the customers what THEY want and take a break from shoving what Apple wants at us.

To me each phone has its personality, iPhones just have an awesome messaging app compared. But android has so many ways to make messaging cool to the USER not what they’re friends see on THEIR phone. In other words I love iPhone but I love Android, never mix the two as it never works. Plus I just don’t care that my friends see green or blue. I have an iPhone too text me there. Problem fixed 😂
If Apple were willing to adopt RCS, why couldn't they also bring iMessage to Android, since not everyone can afford an iPhone all the time?
With all the ways you can buy an iPhone, there is no reason anyone can buy an iPhone. Sounds like some people are too cheap or do not know how to budget themselves. I know people like this. They are living off their Credit Cards. That is not the way to live.

Forcing people to buy Macbooks with 8 GB ram in 2023 for 1600$+ and then charging an extra200$ for an 8GB of RAM because Apple does not allow people to upgrade their RAMs and SSDs is not a failure on the part of consumers to 'budget' themselves

The reason why we are asking for iMessage for Android because of people lile you who will ostracize others for not having iMessage
People who don't buy iPhones actually know how to budget themselves as the tech iOS and IPhone contains is available in a 300-400$ Android Phone

The only legit complaint against the current implementation of iMessage is that's it's security can be easily compromised even between iPhones. If there is Android in the chat the entire group will send unencrypted. If one of the iPhones has very poor reception and no wi-fi, the same. Not that anybody here even touches iMessage as here is not the US.
So in simple terms all about money is where it starts. No surprised
Now give me sending files via bluetooth to android devices from my iphone and i will be satisfied.

BBM the good old days, I liked my Blackberry cellphones but hated the keyboard one (keys fell off), I liked the Z10 and Z30, nice phones but after BB went off the market, I switched to Samsung - I am bought my S20 brand new and it still runs very nice 👍👍

Very good video! I agree with you in that Apple is smart to make iMessage exclusive to Apple products, but, like you said, Apple should not limit photos and videos sent from iMessage to other message apps.
yeah... why there is no linux way to sync with iCloud? "open" apple ROFL! When I hear "most secure" from mainstream... It's like SecureBoot in UEFI - evil company can prevent you from upgrading your OS... like Apple prevents you from upgrade and you need to hack it with opencore legacy patcher.... Who knows what's inside their chips? Why they don't use RISC-V or something like that? Steve stated they like open, but what they are giving us in return of using all of the opensource software???
I’m an Apple and a Linux user. I use iCloud on my Linux Computer through the browser every day. Works great.

The problem with Apple is they are aloof along with some of their user base. Samsung has had RCS since 2 years although now Google Messages is fully RCS compliant then it means all android devices should be able to as well. No doubt as Apple is an independant company they will create another exclusive feature which they won't share until they are forced to change it up. Remember the USB-C debacle.
The only Apple device I would consider is an iPad Pro as the software apps on that platform is much better.
While I support open source software, if you decide to open iMsgs to all device’s outside of Apple, then drop the price of your devices as they are no longer a part of an elite ecosystem.
If many of the smart home devices switch completely to matter or thread technology, I won’t stay locked into the Apple world!
I think apple has consistently shown itself as the big bad company. For many years now messaging has been broken between my latest and greatest samsung and iPhone.
People have chosen their operating systems and very few will move either way. Messaging is more common today than a phone call so it's strange that some kids are OK with apples behavior. I don't care what apples messaging service looks like on their end, just enable normal features that have been around for a very long time. I'm not buying an iPhone for imessages that's just silly, I've had iphones before. This whole thing is just moronic.

Yeah, completely disagree, Apple totally intended for this to happen, and he has even shown his viewers that he wanted this to happen. He made iMessage for reason and now these are the consequences he’ll have to deal with.

The Huawei mate x5 fold is phenomenal. It has micro SD card, every camera is incredible, 3 to 5 day battery, stylus pen works every screen , big front screen, emergency satellite crash etc it's amazing and I'm a big Samsung fan

I use android but, imessage was made by Apple it's theirs so they can do what they want with it.

Simple android can easily come out with the ability to change the color bubble in thr settings and add a festure where you know when the message was seen apple shouldn't be forced to bend to no one uts their creation

It’s apples product, they shouldn’t have to give it up but RCS should’ve already been a thing, standard on all phones. However, I’d gladly pay a reasonable subscription fee to access iMessage on an android device.
Maybe they should design an iMessage app for android but charge a small subscription fee to use it. But then that opens up some security doors Apple might not want opened. Tough thing to fix effectively and safely.
The odd thing is, Android users just don’t notice a difference. I’ve seen a lot of complaints directly from android users about the messaging experience between the two, and it doesn’t directly affect them. iMessage would be invisible to the Android user.
Either way, I hope they can come to some kind of compromise. I would really enjoy being able to send good quality video to the Android users in my family easily in the near future.

Makes sense for Apple to have their own features like Facetime and iMessage but they need to also make sure that features like RCS to allow ease of use between diffrent devices and software, also please be aware that the EU is forcing Apple to adopt RCS and USB-C to be more open, Apple isn't willing to be always open to there competitors unless they could earn money like Apple Music and Apple TV.
Apple's target are money, not heart of the people, nor giving inovation. I can't stand arrogant people or stupid people that think having the most expensive phone, makes them SOMETHING/ SOMEONE. only sad people.
I have an Android phone (Pixel 6) and my dad has an iPhone and we've never had any trouble communicating. Phone calls, messaging, video calls, whatever. There are ways to do all of them. Free ways. Not necessarily built into the phone, but how hard is it to install an app?
I have been daily driving iPhones for a long time including their ecosystem BUT, Android is superior. Sadly getting family and friends in the US to start using WhatsApp is such an issue and being the rebel with Green bubbles breaks most group chats and similar. iMessage is nothing special, it's certainly not worth typing on this short keyboard on my iPhone...the minute Apple implements RCS I'll likely get back into my beloved Pixel phone.
100% agree! Imessage is apple thing and it should be for apple only. If somebody want imessage then buy apple product. No more reasons and/or arguments. And since RCS is coming then its fine. But for me apple doesn't need RCS on imessage just to communicate with android. SMS is there why bother?
There used to be a time when Apple products were 'insanely great'. These days many of the features are rather ho hum as everyone has them, often better. Apple seems to be heading in weird directions in the last few years. Some years ago I could still buy an iMac 27" for well under AUD$3000. Now I can either buy a 24" iMac, which aint goin to happen, or 'upgrade' to Mac mini, Apple monitor, keyboard and mouse at well over AUD$4000. As a retiree I guess I'll buy a mac mini with a 3rd party monitor, keyboard and mouse, but I won't be happy. And who the hell is going to buy those strange, very expensive ugly goggles. You are weird Apple!

Well said. RCS should make the apple to android experience better. Honestly it's all more about which software interface you like better. Both sides are making excellent phones now that anyone would be happy with 15 years ago. Even 10 years ago!
Apple won't even use Google's RCS which is already e2e encrypted..even for group chats..
It's interesting how you pretend that iMessage is more advanced than it actually is, by comparing it to standard SMS & MMS, when Google already have RCS launched pretty much worldwide. It took an European Parlament rule to do with Apple's marvellous technical inventions of reinventing a connector every couple of years and sealing devices with glue. No pun intended but, since Steve Jobs died, Apple sucked balls, just like its current CEO. I don't want to be mean, but this company is so behind with its tech that they think they're actually winning, and this is reflected by their faked Cinebench scores of late.
I used to be a big fan of this company, now I wait for my iPhone to croak before switching to Android for good. How can you trust a bunch of shits who steal proprietary tech from a medical company in order to out them in their watch and they back off only when the POTUS tell them they act ridiculously? (of course Obama didn't had the balls to do it, Brandon did) Like I said, I'm done with them.

With the way Android users are whining and complaining about this, I hope Apple makes a team dedicated to shutting down these workarounds coming out. Apple can afford to kill the mouse indefinitely, but the smaller companies can't afford to keep trying forever. If someone wants iMessage, they should buy an iPhone.
