    I was about to buy a newer drum designer until I thought, "wait, Wait, WAIT!!! Look into what you have already!" Several years on, and Dan hasn't grown stale, able to educate and kindly direct across space and time. This fabulous intro and tutorial has shown me that UVI Drum Designer is exactly and even more than I need. Thank you Dan and UVI.

      Hi, Shana. It's been about three years since you left your comment regarding UVI Drum Designer, so I'm sure you've found various other options that satisfy your needs. In regards to UVI Drum Designer, all of its sounds are generated from sine and noise algorithms. The flexibility of it's effects are afforded by them being directly embedded in the sound generation algorithms themselves; therefore, they can't be applied to user-loaded samples, as would be the case in sample-based drum machines, which manipulate and apply effects to pre-generated sounds. ...
      EDIT: Haha... Mr. KnowItAll (me) just read a response from UVI in a post below: "we have developed 4 innovative instruments to shape, pitch and tweak the 5,700+ samples included, while offering both a highly flexible and easy-to-use modern sound design tool", so I was mistaken - they are manipulating sampled sounds, so it appears that if they wanted to, they could apply UVI Drum Designer sound design to user--loaded samples.

  • @michaelknight141

    03:52 is it possible to lock different Tracks I already like and then cycle trough sequences (without changing the locked tracks/parts) until I find a fitting sequence for the rest of the parts?
    That would be incredibly helpful, otherwise I would have to export the parts I like etc.
    So basically: I want to roll trough the sequences. I find a nice Kick Seq. I lock it
    Go on to snare, scroll trough seq. Till I find a good one for snare and lock it.
    Kick&snare locked. Rest open.
    I go to hihats, change sequences and lock them when they fit.
    And so on…

    • @AutPen38
      @AutPen38 Рік тому

      It looks like that functionality is demonstrated at around 4:20, as a menu is shown where sequences for each part (kicks, snares etc) can be loaded in while other parts are locked (muted or solo'd).

    • @miditime
      @miditime 6 років тому

      Calling it a sequence is seems incorrect.
      Besides, I already have a sequencer. It's my DAW. where Drum Designer now resides.
      Call it what it really is, a pattern.
      A long (+/- ) 32 bar pattern. (I know the pattern can be shortened.)
      In other words, there is only ONE pattern to tweak in this new 2018 UVI drum machine
      -esque product.
      Please, in the next update, could you add a feature where you can trigger with midi say, 24 patterns like Break tweaker? or maschine?
      You have such a beautiful product, great sounds, great programming, but render it relatively useless to my needs with providing only one pattern to trigger..

    The sequencer does not appear to have polyrhythmic capabilities. Is that even possible without a complete redo of the sequencer? For example, would it be possible to put a “restart” marker at a different given point for each track or set each track length independently? There are many products similar to this product, mostly for Kontakt, and one way to set yourself above the rest would be polyrhythms.

    Bought this plugin years ago and this is the issue with UVI they make great plugins But don't update them, I bought this and Drum replacer - neither have been updated in years.
    This plugin is missing key modern feature like Undo, Custom sample import, pattern flexibility (but charge you premium for it btw). It's why I can't invest in Falcon or their flagship plugins - they don't respect their customers or their legacy products.
    I don't care how many influencer producers sing their praises - its not good enough.
    If I sound bitter it's because this plugin could be the defacto modern drum synth but it's abandoned potential with a lack of consitency = I bought percussion factory which has undo and sample import but midi export is unusable. So really speaking from experience.
    Update your legacy products and you'll get a whole new market of people who want to invest in your products but haven't been given any confidence to do so.
