Hi, Shana. It's been about three years since you left your comment regarding UVI Drum Designer, so I'm sure you've found various other options that satisfy your needs. In regards to UVI Drum Designer, all of its sounds are generated from sine and noise algorithms. The flexibility of it's effects are afforded by them being directly embedded in the sound generation algorithms themselves; therefore, they can't be applied to user-loaded samples, as would be the case in sample-based drum machines, which manipulate and apply effects to pre-generated sounds. ... EDIT: Haha... Mr. KnowItAll (me) just read a response from UVI in a post below: "we have developed 4 innovative instruments to shape, pitch and tweak the 5,700+ samples included, while offering both a highly flexible and easy-to-use modern sound design tool", so I was mistaken - they are manipulating sampled sounds, so it appears that if they wanted to, they could apply UVI Drum Designer sound design to user--loaded samples.
@@BigMTBrain Looool takes a big man to admit they're wrong. yeh man even if they had to use proprietary samples it still sucks that you can't import samples it seriously cuts the sound design function to a tad insulting.

I lock it Go on to snare, scroll trough seq. Till I find a good one for snare and lock it. Kick&snare locked. Rest open. I go to hihats, change sequences and lock them when they fit. And so on…
It looks like that functionality is demonstrated at around 4:20, as a menu is shown where sequences for each part (kicks, snares etc) can be loaded in while other parts are locked (muted or solo'd).
