Like others have said, I don't know why the world is not going wild over this plugin. It's the best I've seen and used so far. Machine learning is now being used to isolate 2-track commercial mixes dividing instruments into groups. It's interesting that other plugin designers aren't all over this technology yet. I'm glad I have the UVI Drum Replacer. Game changing plugin for drum replacement!
I don't know why people are not making noise about this
This is the best drum replacement plugin ever hands down
Superb. This guy is famous and deservedly so.
Came here from Benn Jordan's channel. They seem to do things better and with less pomp than other companies. Refreshing.
Falcon really needs some Trap expansions. I'd love it on this VST. UVI is the best.
UVI make some of the best tools. This is so well thought out!
I got the trial version yesterday after watching this video.
I had never done drum replacement by myself before.
After testing it on one of my recordings, using different Addictive Drums samples, I have to say that your plugin was really easy and fun to use, and I am amazed by the end result!
Also, I read down below in the comments a fellow Frenchman complaining, perpetuating that nasty reputation of ours! ^^
I beg to differ, this video was perfect to get me started right away after installing your plugin.
Thank you very much, and you can be sure I'll pay for it once the trial is over!
What a genius plugin u guys invented
Such a treasure
As usual UVI comes out with something that easier and better that other solutions! And cheap! Finally I can dump Slate Trigger, which was just making life difficult one week ago!!
Damn the VSTi is GENIUS!
@@mintyswirljoy So for 49 the Slate Trigger 2 not good?
It's best Drum Replacement plugin I've ever used! Loving it! Using it on some new mixes right now!
Better than the one in superior drummer 3 ?
Good to hear man, bought it yesterday...!!
Hi Josh, will you be doing your own tutorial on how to use this? Your channel has some really in depth stuff
wowwwwww yes. I'm going to give this a try. My sessions are an absolute mess when it comes to drums (well, in particular drums). I've got like 5 snare tracks open, 4 kicks, 4 tom tracks etc... just to thicken each drum part the best I can. This would unload a ton of CPU.
at 25.19 there is a snare inaccuracy, this to me is the big problem with triggering is getting rid of those moments, drum replacement has been the holy grail for me for more than 35 years, I have used pretty much everything out there, but up till now I have never found one solution, it has always been a combination, currently slate trigger and Massey DRT together are the closest, fingers crossed this works as a one stop shop. it really does look like you have thought long and hard about this, going to trial it now
25:19 is not a snare inaccuracy. The drums in this recording are not 100% quantized to the grid (on purpose). That was simply the drummer playing the snare drum a split second ahead of the kick. It's an editing issue with the recording, not the Drum Replacer plug-in. Could be fixed by just punching in another take there where the snare and kick are right on top of each other. I personally like to leave the drums a little natural groove sometimes, even if it means little inconsistencies like this. Sound more organic to me.
I was just thinking about this the other day when my midi cable stopped working...and the whole world of possibilities that could open up with such a technology and surely I got an answer from another video where I was referred to this software. Can't wait to check it out. I also play real drums but as a solo artist I've had to use vsts due to not having the right micing and tools, So something like this would be of great help and super useful in most applications. For demos I use either keyboards or vst programs, so this should definitely spice things up.
Damn you guys REALLY jumped the moon here! Great work
When using this to beef up a funk break, it would be so great if I could assign individual samples to the individual separation nodes. This would be for a mono loop of a fully mixed drum recording, when I could use the "learn" feature and then assign a snare drum sample to the snare separation node, a kick drum sample to the kick separation node, and so on. Of course, I could stack several iterations of the plugin in parallel but it would be really cool if it could all be done from one instance!!
But really, this is an amazing tool. You guys knocked it out of the park! Please keep developing this! I am DONE with using Drumatom. Such a pain to have to export and re-import. The trick of muting the "R" (remainder) node is so awesome sounding! Would love to see how clean that could become over further development, as that is an amazing dual-purpose function of this plugin. Really, really good job on this one!!
Hi Josh! Welcome to UVI :) Would you be keen to do some stuff with falcon in the future? Very curious what would you come up with after what Dan Warrall managed to do :)
And thank you for all those videos about Logic, it was my Bible in the beginning :)
Oh I think I understand. I was trying to use one instance to trigger a whole kit, but I should have multiple instances to handle each of the sounds I want to replace, each with different thresholds
might have to buy this for the kick triggers haha
Liked so good very great 👍
Thanks for the demonstration. I do quite a bit of drum replacement with my mixing and have been using a free replacer that comes with my DAW (Reaper). It's fine for certain things, but it only gives you one sample per instance. I was looking at Slate Trigger, which looks really nice. But I also came across your product. It seems like this is in the same ballpark with Trigger, but at a lower price. I'm really considering buying this.
One thing is not clear for me : is the Drum Replacer able to work from a complete drum loop or you must work from individual instrument tracks (kick, snare..) ?
Remedy for individual track replacement would be, simply, to replace the sample within the track. However, you could also also use UVI, since it has more options for replacement, and other drum plugins to play with.
@@turgutbelen6374 Thanks. I was speaking about individual audio tracks, of course if you have individual midi tracks you can easily replace the sound by any other one. And the same for a midi tracks using multiple instruments. So the question is real : does UVI replacer can replace only the sound of single instrument audio tracks or is it really able to separate each instruments of an audio drum loop ? And how it is good for such job (limitations ?) ?
Can this separate drum parts that are all on one track like Superior Drummer's tracker?
Good question, this would make it better than addictive trigger for me. Although I didn't know superior drummer even could do this... Do u have any video examples of this? And why wouldn't u just get SPD3 then?
No, you will have to load multiple instances
Is there a video of superior drummer showing that function???
@@boimesa8190 Here's a video someone made using just one overhead drum track. ua-cam.com/video/kQEZeHwl91I/v-deo.html
Sorry if this has been answered somewhere, but if you are replacing a snare for example, with something from a VST library, is it possible to automate the plugin from side stick to open snare if the song changes back and forth?
I get using UVI Drum Replacer in Pro Tools or other DAWs, but Logic's Drum replacement workflow is pretty amazing so not sure why you'd demo this in Logic.
Hi Guys! I'm trying to buy this plugin but your website does not bring me to the checkout page!
Will Slate Expansion packs for Trigger and SSD work with UVI?
Why not explain, how to integrate with Falcon? ? ?
you can't load a VST into falcon, why should you?
Can't understand if I can load different samples for different levels of triggerring, so the loud drum would be replaced by one sample, and the quite - by another.
What about a mixed drum file (. Wav), can i seperate the drum pieces? Snare kick. Etc?
I notice that when utilizing a virtual instrument plug-in that you lose the option for AI Tuning and the A-H-D level control- Is that correct?
If i didn t use XO i would get this. But XO does a great job changing samples.
Great plug-in.
I wonder what would happen if I connected this to Roland external triggers for live performance?
Please advise
If my band will be playing Top 40 music, can I load a Top 40 song and this software isolate the drums only, allowing me to imitate the drums and create audio file of the isolated drums?
Well I guess not since UVI has not answered my question from a month ago.
I’ll say this-if you use some stem separation software such as RX10, and then use replacer-it should work.
@@YungstarProd cool!
25:34 "Randomly" has triggered the same sample twice. Is it possible to exclude the possibility of repeating the same sample in a row?
Are you saying a drummer never played the same hit exactly the same twice?!!! Ringo's ain't gonna like this.
Random algorithm will be fine tune in our next update to fix this. It should indeed be the default.
@@mintyswirljoy hahaha
How to make audio drums to MIDI with this? I tried for hours with no avail
Is there any way that one can trigger the note from UVI on to a separate channel? For Eg. I have my audio track, Kick In on Ch 1 and have drum replacer triggering the sample to a VST plugin on Channel 2. The purpose is to be able to process the sample track differently than the actual audio track and blend them from the mixer instead of dry/wet function in UVI Replacer?
🔥
For some reason when I load up a sample its triggering the sample but only part of it. So a bass drum with a long decay sounds like a part of the beginning of the bass drum and doesn't play all the way through. What gives?
Just noticed to that when I preview the sound in Drum Replacer via the File Browser ALL sounds sound "short" and like they get cut off early. Even sounds like it's comressing them or something. I'm using FL Studio 20.7, too by the way.

Might sound like a silly question but can you load the drum replacer inside the drum replacer, so you could in theory have more than 8 velocity layers in the plugin if that makes sense.
Drum Replacer only load VSTi. Drum Replacer is a VST effect. Still you can load multiple instances of Drum Replacer on the same track and use your favorite VST sampler instrument or Falcon for maximum flexibility. The purpose of the sample slots in Drum Replacer is to cover fast and basic use cases.
Is it possible to get UVI Drum Replacer to be triggered by ghost notes while ignoring bleed from other tracks that might sometimes be louder than the trigger notes? I'm trying to decide between this product and Trigger. It looks like Trigger will do this. I've downloaded the trial, but can't seem to make it work. Any suggestions are appreciated.
This looks great.
One question. When using a plugin for replacement, does a new instance of the VSTi have to be loaded for each track, or is it a send scenario?
I use MODO Drum, more than a few instances of that will eat my RAM for lunch.
It is one instance of VSTi per slot
Hello!, Is it possible to do drum replacement on a single stereo drum track basically I only have the drum bus and no multitracks (kick snare hi-hat toms etc)
Does it work with audio where drums are already mixed with other sounds like bass guitar synths or does it work specifically on drum loops?
Is there a way to automate the threshold to read ghost notes? I have been having problems to detect those ghost notes. I use Pro Tools and I haven't been able to find the way to do it, even if I go to the automation window in the plugin. Many thanks!
This looks like a very useful plugin. Unfortunately, there are several drum libraries made for triggers on the market that only contain multi-layered drums in TCI format, and if they contain wav, they are mostly one-shots or raw samples. I want to choose a trigger and based on its functions, the UVI seems much more usable but here is the TCI dilemma. Is there any solution to this?
Hi there - we offer a trial version for our Drum Replacer: www.uvi.net/drum-replacer#trial 😉 This could help!
Best regards.
Hye.. how and where to get sound drum like that... Ludwig sound drum or what any models to use in UVi drum rplacer...???? I try use SSDsampler vst plugin but not sound in my wet output on UVI drum rplacer hear..???
are you able to export the captured triggered sounds into midi?
I'm going to have snares trigger my guitar even more!
Can we load in one slot samples with multiple velocities that contain a couple of rounds on each velocity? For example I have snare samples that have 8 stages of velocity and each of that stage has 5 different hits. Basically I want to ask is this plugin can load these things like Trigger 2 can? :)
No, it is not possible for the moment. For this usage, we advice you to load your favorite VST sampler instrument for maximum flexibility. The purpose of the sample slots in Drum Replacer is to cover fast and basic use cases.
Is it possible to trigger it from MIDI?
Hello! Can I use it with BFD3?
Yes
Can it also detect seperate transients from a drumkit recorded with ONE MIC
Yes it can with the feature canned called "Machine-Learning Separation" -> ua-cam.com/video/6UImlvyoLaw/v-deo.html
@@UVIofficial but it's only useful to isolate sounds not to assign different samples to different transients is it...? There also doesn't seem to be a midi drag to file option??
Not sure what you mean by transient, but Drum Replacer allows to trigger samples according to the detection settings allowing you to select what you want to be replaced. There is 15 days demo trial, so it's probably best to try see if this fits your needs (www.uvi.net/drum-replacer#trial)
@@UVIofficial I just want to beatbox with one mic and have the software tracks the hits and assign midi note > samples to each sound
Yes you can. You can check out this demo made from a complete loop where we replaced elements by opening different instancing of Drum Replacer >> soundcloud.com/uvi-official/drum-replacer-on-percs-loop
You just need to have as much tracks as elements that you want to isolate.

I'm thinking on seriously get this plugin but I have 1 question, is it true real time? with no latency? I mean, can I use it for live performance? this is because I've tried with the addictive trigger plugin and it has no latency when your producing, this is because the plugin actually add a delay to all the daw session, so when I try to do a live performance using ableton live it just adds latency, I'm just wondering if this also happends with this plugin
Hello Arturo,
We cannot guarantee a 100% real-time performance under all circumstances, as it depends on too many factors, including your configuration.
You'll find a free 15-days trial at the bottom of the Drum Replacer product page (uvi.net/drum-replacer#trial). Feel free to give it a try, and to reach out to our tech support at any given time, they'll be happy to help you (at uvi.net/contact-us) 😊
Hope this helps!

Okay so........ I have a few issues with your drum tracks. I get it that you want to make your drums sound more realistic with adding Drum Replacement, but... why didn't you start with processing the individual tracks first? You know like EQ, Compression, Reverb and Parallel Compression? The drums sound flabby but you didn't bother to do anything to make them sound even better from the get go. Triggering should only be used to accent or help, not completely replace.
I just downloaded the trial version. recognition seems good, but it seems there is not an option to use this as an "audio to midi" device in an fx chain, where it only outputs midi note and velocity? (i like to manipulate the velocity after the recognition) unfortunately this doesn't seem to work as of right now
Currently there is no MIDI output but you can load a VSTi to trigger an external instrument.
@@UVIofficial i know, I did that and it works great. its just that I sometimes want to tweak the velocity range/scaling before sending the midi to the sampler :/
Although you don't have full control over the MIDI sent, you can
still rescale the MIDI sent to the VSTi using a concave upward and
downward curve. Feel free to contact our tech support (www.uvi.net/contact-support) if you need some help.
@@UVIofficial thanks for taking the time to answer, I saw the curve, but I'm afraid I would at least need the option to specify the range. Direct Midi out (with options to "sculpt" ie compress or expand the midi data somewhat) to use the trigger in a chain would be my preferred option. Or at least drag n drop rendered midi file. Maybe in a future update :)
A bunch of lousy drum recording engineers just gave this genius plugin a thumbs down because the mix engineer is gonna replace their drums! LOL
In my world, recording quality, or lack of it, is virtually never the reason for drum replacement. But, whatever…
Take my money 💰!

Great review. Great product. Only suggestion. When showing the difference between enabled and bypassed it would be EVEN BETTER to do it without talking. Thank you still!

UVI, a suggestion. This isn't an overview video, it's a deep dive video. I feel like you should make quick 1-2 minute promotional overview videos which roughly gives a broad sense of your products. These 30 minute in-depth videos are great, but they are a different thing altogether. I want a quick way to get the essence for the products, and I don't necessarily have the patience to watch these longer videos to find out if I want to buy them.
