- Plot: After being harassed by King Dedede and his assistant Escargoon, Kirby proves himself to the people of Cappy Town by defeating the giant monster which had been eating the town's sheep, meanwhile beginning his relationship with Tiff, who becomes his guardian.

The instrumental parts of the theme song reminds me of old tokusatsu shows from the 60s and 70s

You know, this anime is what got me into the Kirby games in the first place

im sad the old uploads of this by the channel focused on this show got removed (i forget the name of it if anyone could help id appreciate it) They had a very thorough collection of the show and iirc promo bumpers and stuff that'd easily be lost to time. i hope someone archived it cause i was stupid and assumed because in 2020 theyd existed for 9 years nintendo either couldnt do anything or didnt care, i was wrong!

I haven’t seen this show in years and I’m just now realizing that this is definitely one hell of a way to start a series wouldn’t you say? I mean literally the first thing that happens is a giant octopus devours a bunch of sheep at a farm and apparently it actually did eat all of them since it literally just spit out their remains.

If this ever gets picked up for MeTV Toons, which I hope does happen, will it be free of any rights issues? This dub was by 4Kids, and I’m pretty sure they’re defunct now, don’t know if Nintendo got the rights to the anime, both the English and original Japanese versions.
Things I like about 4kids' dub - The opening is not one usually one would associate with 4kids being a jazz number
Ted Lewis as both King Dedede(sounding like a cross between Foghorn Leghorn and George W. Bush) and Escargoon (sounding very gay, owing to the Paul Linde impression)
Eric Stuart surprisingly as Meta Knight even though he does a terrible Antonio Banderas impression it works well for the character
