Great video, but ...I really wish I'd seen it before I did mine last week. Why..? Because I didn't think about marking the two ends before I split the splined joint. I now have a very small, but noticeable to me at least, vibration at around 30mph on hard acceleration. I have mine running most of the time in RWD only by removing the feed to the transfer box motor when its powered down and the clutches are relaxed, if I switch back to awd it's hardly noticeable with less drive to the back. I guess I'm going to have to either live with it, take the prop off again and pay to have it balanced, or try rotating the splined join until I get lucky. But thanks for the video and it was an enjoyable presentation.

Thanks man love your videos and if you don’t mind what’s your opinion on the BMW e46 325i-2004? I just love how it looks and I’m planning to get it as my fist car

In my 'humble' opinion it's a great first car. Your right they look great, drive extremely well, and if maintained well hold their value.

Sir I have a question 🙋‍♂️. As you can see I have an X5 Drive shaft broke bent off. My mechanic installed new front cv axles and the passenger side didn’t look like it was all the way in. So I believe my differential siezed up and caused my drive shaft to break off my transfer case also broke when the shaft broke off. I put a new transfer case on it it still won’t roll over the passenger axles is still the way the mechanic left and I believe it’s not all the way not making contact with the front diff?

Boring old (78) long retired pom mechanic here; too many years in the trade who did time on Alfa, Jaguar, and Ferrari in UK and Canada. Worked with many Oz and NZ mechanics over the years who were all great. Now I'm the proud owner of a mint X5 3.0 2005 (209k kms) with a vibration problem which is definitely drive shaft related. However, the fix also boils down to a question of technique. Hitting wrenches (ok, spanners) with a hammer and inter-linking wrenches for more leverage are definite no-no's and can result on tools flying across the shop floor and opening up of wrench jaws. Not at all recommended. Boring old pom mechanic....
