    We catch 5lb Spotted Bass regularly here on the Lower Coosa on that lure; been using for about 10yrs now. I got my PB Striper on it; a 16lb 12oz beast- on light spinning gear! I have the perfect homemade heads for it. Custom eyes and life-like paint schemes, wire bait keeper, single strand 70lb fluoro weedguard, all at the perfect weight. It truly catches everything that swims!

    ACC Jig Heads utilize a wire barb to hold the soft plastics instead of the lead collar. VMC also uses it on their “Mooneye” heads, but not sure how small you can get em. This will save you the flossing work.

    • @shadygraves
      @shadygraves Рік тому

      My brother makes our heads. You're right; the single wire keeper is the deal. Lead barbs split the bait too easily. He also puts in a single strand of 70lb fluoro for a weedguard, a #1 black nickel hook (that isn't too long for the bait), and then he airbrushes them different, ultra-realistic colors. The lead is ³/¹⁶oz but the total package comes in at ¼oz, making it PERFECTLY balanced. It's truly a killer!

    Those flukes are excellent for catching hybrids to when jigging off the bottom. I also like those crappie magnet shads too because they have a bigger profile and are very durable baits. They don't tare up as easily as bobby garland and you can catch 20-30 fish one jig.

It struck me in those few moments that his name was PAUL... So I was legitimately a PAUL BEARER... That struck me as funny and I was fighting back laughing as I carried him.
