Oohh another LOTD Video!!! I eat these up like candy, thank you for the yummy goods! :D Tall Plains is one of my favorite Spyro locations, not just because of how beautiful the music and environment is, but because of the contrasting culture it has to the rest of the Realms. The natives believe in and worship numerous Gods and pay tribute them seemingly on a daily basis, so when the Apes invaded and uprooted their traditions, things took a turn for the worse. I think that the rubble brutes that patrol the area, including the armordillos and even the Stone Sentinel boss, were all considered part of the worshiping cycle and thus were the Atlawa "Guardians." When things changed with the coming of the Apes, it enraged the worshipped inhabitants into attacking anything that they deemed to be an intruder, Spyro included. Perhaps the Armordilllos, them being able to turn into a ball and roll into opponents to protect their home, was something the Atlawa's admired and thus, carved stone orbs for rituals/puzzles. Not a canon fact but it was something that crossed my mind. Perhaps the reason the Tall Plains Rubble Brutes are composed of carved stone is because they were forged (or ordered to be forged) by the so-called "Gods" to defend Tall Plains... However, the case of Kane being almost killed by these creatures is also true. While it doesn't make sense for "Guardians" to attack the very people who worshipped them prior to the Apes, it does make sense that anger can cause organisms to act irrationally, such as the Stone Sentinel. Thus, the Rubble Brutes were only acting out of anger that their home was out of balance, which is why they targeted Kane as an enemy. A strong headcanon of mine regarding to why these magical entities of earthy magic exist relates to one of my favorite quotes Ignitus said: "When a Dragon Dies he does not truly leave this world; his spirit lives on, binding itself with Nature, offering hope for the future." Dragon Spirits binding themselves with Nature also plays hand in hand with "May the Ancestors look after you." So, if these powerful spirits are watching over the lives in Nature, what could that look like? Well, one good example are Spirit Gems, aka "gifts" from the Ancestors that speak across generations and empowers one with the spirit of the past. Are Spirit Gems the essence of Dragon Spirits, as their name suggests? Another possibility of Spirits merging with Nature could also be the "Creatures of Nature" that we see lumbering around, such as the Rubble Brutes, The Stone Sentinel, The Swamp Growths, etc. Maybe they weren't borne of Dragon Spirits, but it's safe to say that some form of magic was used in the creation of them, unless some sort of biological science is hidden behind their earthy surface. Does Arborik have lungs therefore he roars? This has a lot of room for speculation, lol. I also love watching your videos because they bring out my inner Spyro Enthusiast Heheh. I love thinking about how this world works and the immense potential behind it. I appreciate you taking the time to make these, it means a lot. You're Amazing! :D
This was always my favorite area in the game for some reason. I liked the grassy fields and the architecture as well the atlawas themselves, I'm sad they never came back. Kane was annoying and the gondola fights were annoying but the music here really made up for it. Love these analysis videos man. Sorry for being so late lol
Haven’t covered that yet, no. Gonna need to think about when I want to try that out, but probably not the next video after this? Will see how I am feeling
Hey um lore of the dragon. I know u probably ARN’T gonna respond to me but I wanted to say thank you for being a good fan and not minded me sharing counter views on ur other videos (in a non bad way) ur definitely not a gate keeper since it seems u encourage discussions about the games and their flaws in any form. 😎❤️👊🏻 btw how are u?
I’m third so,... um Spyro arguably wouldn’t have survived the last qte in the catacombs 😱😉 might as well drop a counter to the status quo in an ok way XD
Given "recent events", I needed this soothing balm upon my soul. Thank you.
