questions like that are somehow devaluing all the hard work and discipline you put into having the lifestyle you have now. Discipline is not easy. Posting content on the regular while trying to avoid burnout is not easy. Achieving your dream bod is not easy. Been following you for years and the amount of self improvement is crazy
I’m a mom of two, work 2 jobs, daughter is in activities, and just completed a 20 week bodybuilding prep and competed this past weekend. We have to sacrifice for the goals we want to achieve and people just don’t want to hear that. You’re amazing and motivating!
The entire concept of delegitimizing someone’s hard work and accomplishments because their life and resources don’t exactly mirror yours is wild to me. You obviously work hard and are kind and happy and someone trying to tear that down because they’re not in the same spot you are is ridiculous. Keep going girl ❤️
Jeez, why do people watch videos if they have an issue with the content! Is it just to make negative comments, sad...!! You go Allana, I feel so much healthier just by watching you !! (and Meryl)... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😻😻
I don't usually comment, but feel compelled to share a little bit. I'm a 67-year-old women and I've been following Allana for a few years now - while I was still working outside the home, and now that I am retired. Some of the advice is applicable to me, some is not, but ALL of her content is entertaining and fun - and I've learned a bit along the way. I appreciate your work ethic, kindness and compassion. Every day May is my favorite time of year! Thanks for all you do for us - keep it going! ❤
I’m a 43 years old working mom of twins and I’m here to say that I get so much from Allana, I have been following her way before she started her super woman transformation and I love her HGW series so much that I recently went back into the playlist and watched them all again. Unfortunately not everyone gets it, it requires some deep down work and not everyone is there yet.
40 yr old working mom here, too! Love Allana and love her HGW videos. She’s such an inspiration. Totally agree that some people don’t get it because they haven’t done their work yet.
I work an 8-6 job and still get 8-12k steps daily and strength train 3 times a week. I just spend less time on social media on the nights that I have to strength train. It's possible if you want it to be possible.
I appreciate the hot girl summer videos because there isn't anyone in my life that prioritizes health and working out and it's nice to have somewhere to go to experience this lifestyle.
I’m in absolute awe of you and the HGS community you have built. You are correct in saying everyone has the power of changing their lifestyle if they want it bad enough. It takes a lot of discipline to do what you’ve accomplished over the years I’ve been watching you. I’m trying to change…and my mindset. I’m a work in progress and I do what I can. You inspire me. I’m over 60, disabled and I’m searching/finding what works for me. I also find that I need to do workouts that I love and that I can physically do. Stretching and dancing. What Ive learned throughout this process is, that for me, if you love it you’ll continue. Thank you so much for sharing and for being you. ❤❤❤
Having an autoimmune illness, I truly do recognize and understand that life can be challenging, BUT IT DOESN’T MEAN that it’s impossible. I do yoga at home and feel so good about it. And I feel so inspired and motivated by you Lan, whenever I am off w my routine, and you talk about HGW/S I get up and do something, either it’s yoga, or just a walk, and instantly feel so much better. Thank you for such a lovely and important talk! 💪🏻
Sending you a hug! This is an amazing response, showing how you don’t get insecure seeing someone else do something, you let it inspire you to do what’s best/achievable for your situation 🤗
@@ruthkrueger2264 aw thanks!! 🤗 hugs are also a good way to stay healthy! 🫶😂 If I am being honest, I do get insecure and nervous sometimes because my progress can be slow, but I celebrate all wins, no matter how small. And this helps to stay on track too.
@@a_tots yes to celebrating the little wins! I love the quote about how we’re only competing with ourself from yesterday/last week.. as long as we keep on going forward, it’s all progress!
What!! How can people see you work so hard and still make comments like these? I am so inspired by you every day. I am a full-time university student and I work and I have completely transformed my routine to make sure I can get in some sort of movement because of you. Sure, I can’t afford “the program” 😂, but genuinely just moving my body has given me a new level of confidence and discipline that I didn’t know was possible. I’m sorry people treat you like this ❤ keep doing what you’re doing! We love you!! 🥰
I so agree. I have a 9-5 and do extra work after and am learning 2 languages, training for marathons and doing gym workouts. Some extra tips i have is - swap commute for bicycle- i get 2h of exercise a day just to get to work! - meal prep and normalise bringing your food to the office- both breakfast and lunch. healthy food is great - get yourself friends who align with your lifestyle- you will see that these things are possible. For example my work has a slack channel for running and gym enthusiasts - find a gym near the office- get it done before you get home/ before you start work It’s all possible 🥰
Completely agree with all of this! I also work a 9-5 and always take my own lunch, walk during my lunch break to get my steps in, work out in the evening if I didn't make it before the office! There's always enough time in the day if you want it enough 💖
I’m so sad…I can’t believe “Everyday May” is almost over. How did it go by so stinkin fast. It’s just crazy how time goes by so fast. You are my evening whine down. I look forward to getting ready for bed and watching your upload every night in bed. Thank you for all your hard work, also Dan for all his editing. I know it was most definitely hard doing this but you made it look so seamless and easy! Also I think this was the most you traveled during an Everyday May so that was even more impressive along with the coordination with Dan in another country at times. You 2 are definitely a team❤
I personally love all the HGS content! I find you so motivating and inspiring. I work a 9 to 5 full-time job and still manage to get to the gym 5 days a week. It's totally doable. I can't afford to do F45 or to hire a PT but I use a workout app on my phone called STRNG and that gives me a program to follow at the gym - 2 leg days, a push day, a pull day, and a full body day. Having a program makes such a huge difference. I wish I had discovered it sooner. Now I look forward to my workouts!
I think you were incredibly graceful and understanding in your reply. Whilst your job might allow you some flexibilities, it must also come with pressures that most of us cannot know. You have a way of being incredibly inspiring that is very humble. You deserve the results given all the effort you put in. Keep doing what you’re doing guys!
It's all about choices. Some people choose to leave unnecessary ugly comments rather than scrolling past. But just know you inspired me on my own fitness journey. I now choose to get up at 4.30 to get some of my work out done before my hour commute to go to my job. Choose to workout after, choose to eat better. And I've never felt better, and I know there's still more I can do. Please don't stop being you, most of us love it x
It’s all about discipline and wanting to change. There’s so much free workouts on YT and it’s not about copying your exact routine. Find the things that works for you, if 5 days of workouts feels too much - do 4. Changing your lifestyle doesn’t happen overnight, it’s going to take some time and that’s okay! Just take the first step and go from there! Allana, you are such an inspiration! 💕
I COMPLETELY agree with your conclusions. It’s a choice not to make lifestyle changes and hide behind excuses. I am the person that commenter described (9-5, 85k, etc.) and I do all the things you do- lifting most days, cardio, tracking my meals, getting my steps in, etc. I did all of these things when I worked 65+ hours a week in the Army and I’m about to start law school whence I FULLY intend to continue with all of these things. If you want to make it happen, you will. Not to mention that it’s pretty crappy for someone to attempt to downplay everything you, Allana, are accomplishing just because of the type of job/lifestyle you have. Thank you for continuing to post this part of your day because it is motivating and legitimately feels like I have a friend keeping me accountable to my own goals and progress. ❤
That comment is so interesting! I mean I have a full 9-5 job, plus I do UA-cam and Etsy on the side, I wake up at 5:30am everyday and workout, I just ran a half marathon, and I by no means think I’m doing the most. I know so many parents who are doing so much more. I can’t help but wonder if people need a reason to believe they can’t do something, so they can quit before they even try.
I am a mom, and a high school teacher and prioritize my health. I actually had a conversation with someone recently where they asked how I fit it in and I told them that I have no hobbies. My hobby is my health. They didn’t like that answer but that’s the only way I can do it. For my mental and physical health it’s the only way I can do it with a career and family. I’m up working out at 5:30am before I spend my day teaching teens. I meal prep on Sundays just like you. I love your content! You crack me up and inspire me even though we have very different lives.
Omg when I read that comment I absolutely thought it was a loaded one .. I lead a ‘normal life’ too, I do shift work and actually am able to work out most days of the week too. Granted I have no kids, but it is absolutely doable, so you keep it up with the HGS as it is inspiring 😊❤
I work 5 out of 7, early mid and late shifts. Although I cannot do what you do, you inspire me so much!! To do better and to find time for myself and for my health. Please keep talking about a hot girl summer you inspire and motivate us sooo much. Love how real you are!! Waiting for next update 😊
I love the hot girl season talks! I think you’re so right. As a doctor it is hard to find time but it is all about priorities. And is doable even working 60-70 hrs a week. Love your chats and appreciate you just laying it out there as you do! So sad everyday may is ending as a many year viewer 🖤🖤🖤
Honestly, watching you work out, get up and running helps me get out of bed in the morning 😂 it’s kinda like a: “if Allana can do it, so can I.” I know any video regarding health, wellness and fitness can be super divisive- but any long term viewer of yours can understand that the purpose of HGS isn’t to replicate what you’re doing. It’s to just implement change where you can. 😂 your HGW & HGS videos got me to go on walks. And now - I’m doing interval jogging! (Mind you with LOTS of breaks 😅) but it’s these kind of realistic fitness check ins that really helped me see that I can implement fitness in my lifestyle! Anyways - this tedtalk is just me saying that being a long time viewer - it helps to see someone who started at the beginning and end up at a different point ❤ keep posting 💪🏼
I am single, no kids, work from home part time, and am lucky to have enough Flex Time to meal prep and exercise. I think you addressed everything about hot girl summer very well. It’s a true LIFESTYLE, you have to MAKE EFFORT to make it fit into your day to day schedule. Just start with one small thing and add to it over time! You can do this!
Hi! Corporate girly here. It is 1000% possible and attainable to create the lifestyle you want but that requires effort, planning and adjustments. Myself and friends included who prioritize fitness/ wellness and nutrition are waking up pretty damn early to get out on walk/ runs to ensure we get to our step goal. We are also carving out time for our strength training sessions either before or after work AND we are meal prepping on Sundays and Wednesday to ensure we have healthy food options throughout the week. Some weeks are great others are tough but you just do it and you learn that in order for change to occur you have to put the work in! Love you Allana- I’ve learned so much from you and I love being a part of your community.
For non-morning people, get a gym membership or fitness classes near your place of work or along your commute home. That way you don't have to wake up any earlier, you can make better use of a time of day that you're already awake and out, and you can avoid rush-hour traffic if you work 9-5. I did this for years and it was brilliant. It also feels really nice to have a second shower washing the day off after your workout.
AMEN AMEN AMEN! Everything u said was so right on! It’s prioritizing your time and planning ahead. I have 4 young children and my schedule isn’t always perfect, but I am able to do what I want if I prioritize my day and myself!!💜💜💜
You are always encouraging me to take the smallest steps I can take towards a healthier lifestyle- even if that is only choosing to eat eggs instead of a pancake for breakfast, you are still making a difference without demeaning or discouraging me. I hope others feel the same!
Ok - my 5 cents! Since beginning of 2020 I've been working from home. Year later i opened my own business, again working from home. No kids, now 41yro, house with a garden, 5 mins walk from the beach, dog owner. So roughly 1 year ago i realized that anything i do daily is a full time motivation. Work, shower, cook, clean, walk the dog, workout, not having wine in the evening (daily), go for a swim, meet with friends, put mascara on, travel (and we own travel agency ), etc. When i worked 9-5 ( often shifts ) i was out all day, then out with friends, weekend gateways, dinner cooked, house cleaned... you get me. Once you get going it is easier to keep doing it. So actually started by hot girl summer myself ( just in my case it will be most probably summer of 2025 😅😅😅😅) thanks to you Allana just to be the best version of myself and you motivate me when i cannot motivate myself! I hope it makes sense.....kisses from Greece!
Allana, you gave inspired me so much. Still working on my own discipline… but nearly everyday when I’m Arguing with myself about getting moving in the morning I think about getting shredded like YOU. It’s been amazing wanting your journey, I think I’ve been following for 5 years and you look fantastic and I know it’s taken a ton of work and dedication and evaluating priorities. Thank you for sharing all that with us and giving us something HEALTHY to aspire to!!! ❤
I love the comments and totally agree. I have a 9-5 job and I do a full body workout at the gym every other day, so 3 or 4 times a week, depending. On the other days I like going for walks if possible. But essentially it's about finding what works for you and your life and brings you joy and makes you feel better. And if working out regularly is not something you want to make room for then that's also fine. Of course it is going to be harder for some people than others, but there's hardly anything to be done about that besides reckognising it, which I believe you're very much doing Lan, so thanks for the motivation :)
I’m in awe of your strength physically and mentally that has grown over the years! I suffer with chronic pain secondary to crohns but still get up and move most days! Hot girl walks for the win, that visa is perfect 😍 and I’m a yogi girl so those ear buds wow wow wow as you would say 🥰 thank you for everything x
Allana, I love how you addressed this. We all find/make time for the things that are important to us. Your way is not my way and my way is not your way. ❤❤❤
I hear you on having many different phases of health routines over the years. I have also had different phases of resisting or pushing back against health content as "just diet culture" (though I never commented or dm'd anyone I was taking the time to watch! Smh), but at this point I think it all comes down to what you said here: it feels good to feel good. Like, it's actually that simple. And I find you to be very gracious about always clarifying that this is what works for YOU, and not virtue signaling or attempting to make anyone in your audience feel bad. Currently I'm almost 45, working out 3x a week and walking or yoga-ing 2x, trying to lift heavy and focusing on hormonal health as another component to all this as I head into perimenopause, and it feels really really good. Simple! Thanks for the continuing inspiration Lan ❤
I love that you responded to that comment and did it in a kind but honest way. Whether this person meant it to be a dig or not, I think it’s important to remind people that no matter what your circumstances are, a healthy life in this day & age is HARD! It’s about making hard choices, every single day. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it. But kudos to you for doing the work gurl ❤ proud of ya!
Imo, it is almost easier to follow a lifestyle like this because you make a schedule and stick to it, as an influencer and managing all the variables of traveling, events, no fixed schedule, it is almost harder to follow something like hot girl summer/Winter Kudos to you Allana❤
Thank you for being such an inspiration. It is because of your HGW videos that I changed my own schedule so I could start fitting in morning workouts before I go to work. Yes, that means I wake up at 4:40 to be able to get to the gym by 5 am, but it's worth it. Thank you for taking us all on your fitness journey - and for being an absolute delight to watch!
I could not agree more with what you said…It takes planning and soooo much dicipline but it is also really worth it! Also you are glowing as always. Lots of love from Germany
I am 74 years old and joined a gym 6 weeks ago for the first time. Other than a school gym I have never even stepped foot in a gym before. I go to the gym 4-5 days a week and can’t agree with you more. I love the feeling I get every time I work out. It is important to feed your body the necessary things to gain the results or energy necessary to push thru your routines. Your motivation is the best.
Self discipline and changing my lifestyle is something I’ve been thinking about for literal years and have never been able to successfully make the shift but honestly watching your journey and the way you approach this topic has led me to making the most progress I’ve ever made in the past 7 or so years! So this is just to say a BIG thank you to you and let you know to pay no heed to anyone who tries to devalue your hard work and tries to discourage you from sharing your journey with us, you’re helping so many people make such big important changes in their lives!!! pls don’t stop (unless u choose to yourself then it’s okay hehe) sending so much love your way!! ❤❤❤
I love the HGS series! I think you’re so inspiring and your content really motivates me. As someone who works a traditional M/F 8-4pm job who wants to be healthy and fit I just make it work. I see plenty of ppl in the gym everyday and none of them are content creators.
Allana alluded to it a bit, but I think it’s definitely helpful to be mindful that consistent change happens over time. You don’t need to jump into working out 5 days a week. If you’re starting at zero, aim for 1-2 days to start until that feels sustainable. You can always increase, but if you choose goals that art too lofty to start, it’s can seem impossible.
Really respect you for having this conversation and shouting out people who have inspired you through out your life. There will always be excuses, but you do what you personally decide is valuable. I think you handled the harsh comments so well and kindly while still standing up for yourself and view point.
Thank you for addressing this Allana! I think we’ve all been guilty at some point of thinking someone could do something better than us because of easier circumstances or whatever, but we all need to check ourselves and be reminded that it’s about what you prioritise. Loving the HGS series!
I love “everyday May” so sad it is nearly over - love love HGS! You are correct everyone has the power to change their lives - you need to want it though, it is not easy! I don’t ever comment normally but just to say I am based in the UK and also follow your UK friends - I love them all but I always choose to watch your video first - you are amazing! Love all your content ❤
honestly, this is inspiring and I haven't even watched the hot girl summer yet. but you're completely right. its about discipline and consistency. but I love that you addressed this as well bc a lot of us who do watch you have regular 9-5 jobs but shaming someone for their profession isn't a way to address something. LOOOVE YOU LANA BANANA!!!
Ah! I saw that comment and responded! It was such a loaded comment but at the same time totally missed the point. I am 37 with two kids and I go to the gym 3x/week. So happy to hear your thoughts and advice on this topic. I appreciate your passion for fitness and your advice is so helpful. You keep me motivated girl!! Keep going with your Hot Girl Summer! ETA: just got to the part where you talk about alcohol. So damn important. The level of low key alcohol abuse that is normalized in our culture is wild. Sometimes it seems like the ONLY way people get together is over drinks. I’ve started bringing sparkling kombuchas and San Pellegrinos for picnics and neighbor hangouts.
Good morning from Scotland! You have been a huge inspiration to me Allana and I started my own fitness journey in January. I’m in my 40s and have 2 kids. It’s been hard but I’m definitely seeing results x
Yesss LAN love this. your commitment is inspiring - I am certain you work far harder and longer than most people who work a 9-5! I appreciate how much of your life you share and chat about and I love seeing the way you approach things.
meal prep, and activity dates with my friends have truly changed the game for me, and also having a coach. I've never made this much change/progress in my life, and it's just the way I live now and I love it! 🥰💕
Literally YES YES YES to all of this! It makes people so uncomfortable when they see others live in a way or make the changes that they are finding so challening. I'm a full time mama, I run my own business and expecting my second baby soon! I ran a marathon 6 months after my first daughter was born and I still train five days a week even whilst pregnant, mothering and working! Our health is an absolutely priority and we to put it first in order to thrive at everything else we want to do in this life. Feeling fit and strong and healthy makes me feel incredible. I used to struggle with the comments family and friends would make around me "over doing it" or being to "disciplined" but only WE know our own bodies and minds and how loving and positive a healthy amount of discipline and pushing ourselves can bring into our lives. You look UNREAL girl, absolutely glowing inside and out. Keep going and inspiring and not being afraid to share your journey 😍
Loving this video and would love a series of you and your friends and like minded individuals discussing this topic. Between what you do and also hearing Mel’s schedule it’s all so encouraging!
It will always amaze me the things people say to others just out of spite. Self improvement of ANY kind takes sacrifice, health and wellness included. Everyone has different barriers and obstacles but if it’s something you want to commit to, then you have to do that for yourself! No one is going to remove or navigate those obstacles for you. Watching your HGW/summer videos really helped me check in with my own goals and inspires me to kick my butt in to gear when I’m in a slump 🖤🖤🖤
Following you for a couple of years Allana and adoring you with every single video, everything you said 100% resonate with me and all the shifts you've done in your life. I started doing the same two years ago: cutting out alcohol (realizing it was just making me so tired), walking on the self-discovery and spiritual path, and changing various aspects of my life to fit the new version of me. This is a choice we can all make every second of every minute in our lives. LOVE LOVE U so much and thank you for being the amazing you, no matter what.
Im a mom of three kids under 7, workout 5 days a week, training for marathon #2, I work 7-3. Im exhausted by 6pm… But I do all this because it makes me feel good. I save money by working out at home and not going to the gym. I save time by waking up at 4am to get in my workouts.
For many years I’ve wanted to do weight training and wasn’t able to motivate myself until you Allana. You inspired me to get to it and now after a few weeks I’ve been consistently doing free weights. I have a gym to go to and that is my next step. You motivated me seeing how shredded you are without the bulk. You look so streamlined and lean. Love that look and that’s my goal. Thank you for being so inspiring to get fit and living healthier!
Work full time, doing my masters part time I am also a parent to two young children. My workout time is before they wake up. I have a small at home setup with a mat and some weights (lucky to have the room for it). I saved up for months to get a walking pad so I can get my steps in while doing readings for classes. Also small changes will add up throughout the weeks and months of consistency. I've been watching you for years Allana keep doing you and what works for you and your moment in life! ❤
As someone who works 9-5 with a demanding job and has chronic pain I am amazed at people who have kids and workout regularly. It’s easy to assume others have it easier than you and that it gives you an out for not doing anything. I love my slow controlled workouts at home and cater them to how I am feeling that day. Something is better than nothing, and to your point, a walk sometimes is more than enough!!
I’m currently working 80 + hours a week many weeks a month, and your health journey motivated me to stop making excuses and find a way to integrate fitness into my life. I’m a much healthier person now, compared to where I was 6 months ago (inside and out). So thank you for being honest, sharing your journey, and inspiring others to be bold and make a change.
I turned 50 on May 25th. I’ve been following you for many years and even though I’m older I find so so many useful and fun content. I absolutely love your free spirit and that you are so genuine and yourself in your content. You are very motivating to me so thank you for being such a lovely person ❤
Allana your hot summer winter videos literally gave me so much motivation to go on my own fitness journey, now more than 6 months in i am feeling the best i have ever felt in my life. All you said in the video about disciplien and sacrifice it's very real tho, you have to push yourself everyday at first but it's soooo worth it! Thank you so much for the videos, sharing your experience with us and all the positivity!
I really like the content you make. I think you’re genuine and real. As for the whole “you can do this only cause your influencer”, I don’t buy it! It only takes a mind set and you can do anything! I’m a working mum of two kids. I get up every morning at 4,15 to do my run and Pilates workout and have a moment to myself, then it’s family time and get ready for work! Afternoon is kids time, meal prep for tomorrow, and a relaxing evening routine! Anything is possible, you just have to decide if you really want to do it!
I like how you always emphasise that health and fitness is a priority for you, your lifestyle is built around that and you make compromises for it. I just see your videos as advice where I can take away individual habits / ideas that work with my life. If you have kids or an inflexible job or a limited budget of course that’s going to affect your priorities. But you can still probably make some changes like walking more, or taking up an active hobby at weekends, or swapping out some foods for healthier options.
Loved every part of this video! I work full time and followed along with you for HGW/HGS ETC as I figured my fitness stuff out over the past two years. I haven’t done everything you have, but you give me the motivation to keep it up! Reached a weight goal, did a fitness competition, and finally got healthy enough to get pregnant. I work out a couple times less per week now but still go, and feel great doing it. Fitness is for everyone. Whether it’s walking or running or CrossFit or power lifting. You can do a little or a lot and still gain so much from it. I’m swinging into hot pregnant girl summer!
I’m a nurse and a mum working 10 hour shifts with being on call 2 nights a week and I still prioritise my fitness 3-4 days a week for 20-30 mins. I do longer workouts if I can. I do a massive meal prep day for the whole week. Allana you were the person that inspired me to do it and stick to it. Consistency is key. Don’t listen to these people who choose to tear people down just so that they feel better about the excuses they use to not do it themselves. Keep going girl. You are doing a great job. Lots of love.
Thanks for this video! Just a reminder that it can be really simple and the hardest part is just starting and then maintaining when we don’t see results right away. It’s all about starting and continuing! So much easier said than done. I’m a new mom and have been wanting to start my own journey. This video was my motivation!!!
I seriously love your "hot girl 'pick-your-season'" videos. Came here years ago for the beauty content, but honestly staying for the vlogs and these fitness videos. Thanks for all of it!
Love! Last month a Pilates studio near me had a special deal that made it very affordable. I went from barely getting there once a month to going 20 times in the month. So much of it is prioritising yourself and your health and asking for help when you need it. This *whispered G word* is incredible 😮🤯 You are so so generous and that shines through in everything you say and everything you do. Thank you for another everyday May 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you so much for being so open and honest about all this. It's great to hear this talked about with more nuance. You are an inspiring badass and I'm so grateful for the excellent content you and Dan create!
I coudn't agree more Lan. I've just turned 53 (on the 29th) Since I discovered the gym when I turned 19 I have always worked out. I've been working out at home for years. Plus yoga for the past 7 years. I have worked, shifts, 9-5. That meant getting up early or having to go after work to get my workouts in. Only to have rude people say much the same thing to my face. It takes hard work, dedication, energy you sometimes don't think you have. People who discredit the effort you make to take care of yourself are not worth your time. You are awesome and an inspiration to so many. I am inspired just reading the comments from others! This community nurtures my soul. Thanks for bringing us together Lan 💪💖
Hi Allana!! It amazes me how some people can be so rude to others, especially to you!! You are such a inspiration to me!! I am 58, I've had to have 3 surgeries in the past year on my upper and lower left femur. I was in a wheelchair before that. I now can walk without having to use a walker or cane. I am truly blessed! You've inspired me to start lifting my dumbbells, do yoga and walk as far as I can everyday. I will have a limp and Arthritis in my leg for the rest of my life. I am not going to let that keep me down though! Thank you so much, for being the strong, wonderful woman that you are!! You are amazing!! ❤
Allana-you answered the 🙄 question with such grace and respect. We can be consistent and resourceful regardless of our individual budgets and time. If our attitude is defeat at the get-go then the desire for change isn’t strong enough yet. Long Live HGS 😊
Your give aways are the BEST! I appreciate how you deliver the truth that lifestyle changes take intention, focus, discipline, and vision. Much love and continued success!!!
Who knows the hows, wheres and whys of the assumptions of people choosing to live the way that they do. We are all perfectly imperfect. For me, a positive mental attitude and consistency is 90% of my maintaining 'balance' in my life. At 51, I'm my own 'hot girl', regardless. Thanks for this vid!.
Hi lan, long time lurker over here, I rarely comment even though I never miss a video. I've been having the haaardest time with fitness, and making so many excuses for myself, and to be completely honest I've told myself the same thing; that you are able to do these things because you are a content creator. This video was sooo motivating and inspiring. Thank you for always being so honest with us, you are one of the only people in this space I truly feel represents a real version of themselves on camera. Thank you for a lovely everyday may, love u
Allana absolutely love and admire your commitment to fitness. It is definitely not easy to prioritise; irrespective of one’s life circumstances - 9-5 or not, content creator or not. Thank you so much for creating the Hot Girl Winter and Hot Girl Summer series - I keep revisiting these videos of yours for tips and inspiration when I feel demotivated. Rewatching these videos of yours since I have just started 75 Hard and need all the motivation I can get. Love you and your channel; and hope you continue to make these videos and share more of your experiences 😊
With every gain there has to be some sacrifice and most of the time if you want to have more time for exercise you have to sacrifice some time either from scrolling or your social life. It isn't easy but it is doable. People don't realize that the more you do and the more you move your body, the more you feel energized and are able to do more things in a day. I had a 9-5 and went to the gym and sometimes even did yoga and went to the gym in the same day. Some days I even worked 10 hour shifts. I worked 6 days a week. So I know it can be done. But there has to be some sacrifice from some things. Maybe from sleep and a bit of social life, from alcohol and excessive eating. Anyone who wants to change their lifestyle must accept that they will have to make some sacrifices along the way but it is worth it. Complaining about our situation or blaming others does not lead to anywhere. Thank you Allana, I have been following you since your Calgary days and always appreciate you sharing your journey to a healthier life. Much love from Istanbul, Turkey! 😇
I saw that comment the other day and I didn’t think they meant it in a malicious way, more so as a video idea because it’s generally people’s “norm” but regardless you have inspired me to move more, be grateful and more intentional with my free time, and soak up this period in my life before the chaos ensues of starting a family. I look up to you so much :) thanks for everything you do
I’m one of those people who work 9-5, commute, I also have a second job as an interiors and lifestyle influencer. But I started my hot girl summer with my coach Anna (from DIYBODY) after watching your videos and changed my life but you are right it’s about discipline and changing your habits/lifestyle to fit it in. I also got diagnosed with lupus in August and I’m now in full remission because of my training 🙌🏻💕
Keep inspiring people with your HGS content! In think your content has always been to inspire and provide feedback on your own experience, never was it to ask people to copy what you do. Seeing your HGS has motivated me to explore options of activities and workout to integrate in my own lifestyle. I will never be a gym girl but seeing you pick up Tennis and doing walks/run has motivated to me consider other activities as a workout. HGS is about the spirit! While I might never be a hardcore HGS girl, i wanted to share this positive feedback/reaction to your HGS journey. Thank you Allana ❤
As someone who’s prioritized their health in the past and has fallen so far off the wagon since then pandemonium. It’s all about choosing your hard. I know all about making the excuses or coming up with stories in our heads why we can’t take better care of ourselves. I commend you for breaking it down the way you did. It’s not easy. Taking care of your health is really freaken hard. But continuing to sit uncomfortable in your body and hating the skin you’re in is just as hard. Thank you for continuing to motivate this community day in and day out. Love every single one of your videos. So sad every day May is coming to an end. ❤❤
I’m sorry but this video is pure gold. Thank you to whoever wrote that comment for giving us this gem of a video! Love you Allana, you’re amazing and so motivating to watch ❤❤❤
You are such an inspiration to me! The fact that I'm in a different age bracket, different lifestyle, different resources have nothing to do with that. I've gone through different stages in life when it's easier or harder to stay healthy. But it's people like you that always inspire me! And it's up to all of us to extract what works for us and leave out anything that doesn't. I was talking back to you on this video and wish you could hear me. But all that to say You are awesome! inspiring! and a beautiful person. and keep it up beauty!🥰
Thank you so much for talking about this - I’m a doctor and work some crazy hours and I still make it a priority to get in a workout because it helps me decompress from some emotionally difficult days as well as the obvious physical benefits. I also get comments from people at work about how I can only do this because I don’t have children, which I cannot stand. Priorities are priorities, and me choosing to use my time in this way has nothing to do with what other things I have or don’t have going on.
‘When there is a will, there is a way.’ I have a 9-5 job with a 40m commute. I still make time for my workouts, either before or after. I agree there are still people who do what I do and have less time and still make time to exercise. Love your videos ❤️
I definitely want to second some of the girls here! I do remember a video some time back where Allana talks about the fit neighbours. Also I think it is so stressful to be a content creator, constantly keeping us updated with all the new and glorious products out there, manage different brands, and be a "normal" human behind the scenes. We're so proud of you Allana!! And we love the growth over the years. I currently have a hard time finding the self disciplin to get me through finding the time to work out but that's on me! I definitely love and appreciate all your content whether it's meal prep to workouts to the OG make up of the day 💜 thank you for being you and all that you do!
Allana, you have been so motivating! Taking care of yourself is not easy, it takes a lot of work, consistency and discipline no matter what life you lead. Your body has transformed, even though you have always been thin and fit. You exude health and I’m so happy for you. Please keep these HGS vids comin 😘 on another note, have you ever thought of doing a live? Seems scary but would be awesome!
You have completely changed your life. As someone who's been watching for years, you have transformed in so many ways and the discipline and hard work you've put in are beyond commendable. And I can only imagine how many people you've inspired. I know I'm one of them.
Its all about priortizing and finding what works for you. Thank you for having this "discussion" (lol like you said one way), people don't realize that just because you go to the gym, play tennis and get your steps in doesn't mean everyone does too. Like for me I know pilates does wonders for some people and its popular but truly I do not get the same enjoyment out of it like weight training does. Also I just started playing tennis because of you and so far i ain't that good haha but its fun and it gets my body moving. Love seeing your fitness content! keep it coming :)
Everyones life looks different but you can clearly see the time, effort and energy you put into becoming fit and healthier. That is inspiring to me and helps me on my fitness journey even if my day looks different to you ❤
I was a little behind on videos and just saw this after I had commented on the giveaway that I'd love to see how you would approach a healthy lifestyle while working a 9-5 etc. Your response in this video was so so perfect! I think you so well captured the discipline and sacrifice that come along with maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I loved hearing you reflect on the routines and habits of your friends and yourself throughout the years. It's hard work! Thank you for being so open and honest with this important chat!
You are inspiring to kick myself in the butt and get back into fItNeSs. I used to LOVE CrossFit but then I had my sun and we moved out to the boonies. I need to stop making excuses and get back into it. I’ve been loving following along with your fitness journey and seeing your transformation throughout the years. Love you and love everyday may!! ❤
I agree that motivation and looking to find what best fits into your lifestyle are a huge part of the puzzle. I do also definitely understand now things like chronic illness and mental illness can make doing these things really difficult. Overall we all need to have more compassion for ourselves and other people. I for one love your videos and they still give me a positive influence even though my wellness habits are totally different from yours. It’s ok to not be the 5am person or to be bored by gym environments, but that’s why health isn’t one size fits all!
I loved everything you said here Allana! I would also say people shouldn’t feel like they have to spend money to get fit. Walking and running is free and so good for your mental health. Also there are SO many free resources to make a simple at home workout routine. And 20 minutes a day is plenty if you up the intensity. There really are no excuses.
I work from Monday to Saturday. I have 2 teenagers. I workout 4-5 days a week either on my home gym or at the gym. I love it so much, the gym gives me peace and it’s also my therapy session. I feel so good after my workout and I feel that I can be a better mom and wife. The truth is that some people have only excuses and zero discipline. Love you Alana! ❤
WOW what an incredibly condescending comment! I had to pause the video to get my thoughts out 😂The audacity to "challenge" you, as if you don't work hard and couldn't possibly achieve what you have with your health/body if you had a different lifestyle. It's perfectly possible to achieve these things with the lifestyle that person has (as many other people in the comments have shown)! Sure, it might look different to how you do it but it's different for absolutely everyone! I think the challenge here is not for you but actually for them to learn how to make it work for them in their circumstances ...rather than acting as if what you have accomplished has less value because your life and resources aren't exactly the same. You responded to this beautifully, thoughtfully and with absolute grace ❤ I absolutely LOVE how you took such a devaluing comment and turned it into the most motivational video. You superstar you🌟
questions like that are somehow devaluing all the hard work and discipline you put into having the lifestyle you have now. Discipline is not easy. Posting content on the regular while trying to avoid burnout is not easy. Achieving your dream bod is not easy. Been following you for years and the amount of self improvement is crazy
YES, I totally agree !!
100%
Absolutely
Well said!!
Sames…body goals!
I’m a mom of two, work 2 jobs, daughter is in activities, and just completed a 20 week bodybuilding prep and competed this past weekend. We have to sacrifice for the goals we want to achieve and people just don’t want to hear that. You’re amazing and motivating!
Get it girl!!!! Proud of you
Good 4 U... 👍👍😄😄
Incredible!! 🫶🏼
@@MartinaMcDonaghSames! (defo e Meryl!)
I love that ‘Super Woman Transformation!’😊
Dig!x
@@ruthkrueger2264 exactly! It’s true 💯
Some extra tips i have is
- swap commute for bicycle- i get 2h of exercise a day just to get to work!
- meal prep and normalise bringing your food to the office- both breakfast and lunch. healthy food is great
- get yourself friends who align with your lifestyle- you will see that these things are possible. For example my work has a slack channel for running and gym enthusiasts
- find a gym near the office- get it done before you get home/ before you start work
It’s all possible 🥰
Completely agree with all of this! I also work a 9-5 and always take my own lunch, walk during my lunch break to get my steps in, work out in the evening if I didn't make it before the office! There's always enough time in the day if you want it enough 💖
This is awesome!👏🏼 well said!
Thanks for always being so candid and vulnerable! It’s one of the reasons I’ve followed along with you for so long.
😮
Gabby - what a coincidence! I am a subscriber of your YT channel and you’re doing a great job! Keep it up and good luck :)
If there’s a will, there’s a way! Discipline is so KEY! You are such a motivation to us Allana! 😊
Imo, it is almost easier to follow a lifestyle like this because you make a schedule and stick to it, as an influencer and managing all the variables of traveling, events, no fixed schedule, it is almost harder to follow something like hot girl summer/Winter
Kudos to you Allana❤
Thank you for being such an inspiration. It is because of your HGW videos that I changed my own schedule so I could start fitting in morning workouts before I go to work. Yes, that means I wake up at 4:40 to be able to get to the gym by 5 am, but it's worth it. Thank you for taking us all on your fitness journey - and for being an absolute delight to watch!
whatever kind of question/comment that was meant to be, i respect you so much for how you always respond to things like that 👏🏻
I could not agree more with what you said…It takes planning and soooo much dicipline but it is also really worth it!
Long Live HGS 😊
you absolutely hit the nail on the head with your chat here, well done Allana and keep doing what you’re doing! you inspire so many 🥺🫶🏼
We appreciate you! And the work you put into all your vlogs. You and Jamie are like my comfort UA-camrs. Sending lots of love. ❤
