    Thank you. I really enjoyed learning how to make this hat.

    Thank goodness for the transcript/closed captioning!
    I have auditory processing challenges. If there’s music or any other sound besides the UA-camr’s voice, I cannot easily hear the words. (Too much distraction for my brain.) I just turn off the sound and read the closed captioning or transcript.
    So far, the instructions are easy to follow and the results seem to be good. If I have anything to add, I’ll edit this post.
    Your friend is fortunate to have you do this video for her. The rest of us benefit from your generosity toward your friend. ❤
    Edit update: I found, after crocheting 5 rows beyond Row 11, that the hat will be too small. I tore them out and will continue to increase for at least 5 or 6 more rows, to make sure the crown fits well enough before crocheting straight down.

    Thank you for this tutorial. I'm wondering if the crown of the hat should be increased for an adult or is it sufficient to just add more rows?

      I add more rows to make larger. But if you’d prefer, you can always increase at a desired row 😉

    Or I guess tell how to use this tutorial adjusting the rows. Would I repeat each round twice to cause it to be bigger for a man's size head ?

    How do I determine how many begining rows to make for a small 5 year old?

    • @CrochetGal
      @CrochetGal  3 роки тому

      Measure her head from the crown to the desired size that will fit best. As you’re crocheting in the round, make sure to measure as you go. Hope that helps 😉

    Hello. Do u have a single crochet tutorial for a beanie using 3 wt 100% cotton ? Using smaller hook I'm sure. ? I'm really wanting a beanie for my son that is absorbent and tight stitch. He has a type of acne in head. And needs to constantly wear something. Thin. I haven't crocheted for 27 years and just basic back then. I did buy my hook & a 3wt cotton to do this bit can't find one that's this wt

      Hi Christa! You would use the appropriate size hook for the 3 ply yarn. A smaller hook creates a tighter stitch. You would increase the crown size and the number of rows as well to fit your son. When I cannot find a size to fit the weight of any given yarn, I just play around with several hook sizes to get the desired sizing. Have you tried the looms to make beanies?

      @@CrochetGal Thank you. For an adult size beanie. 3 wt and 4mm hook. I just keep increasing more rows. Ok. I will try it.
      Im not sure of I'm asking correct question. On ur beanie with the wt & hook size. How many stitches per inch. Maybe that might help me try to figure out with the 3wt & 4 hook.

      @@christabeasley4680 yes... you will also have to increase the crown as well because if not, it will curve to soon and be too small. I do not have the hat any longer to measure it for you. I'm sorry

    What are the measurements of the yarn you used? My yarn looks smaller

    • @CrochetGal
      @CrochetGal  2 роки тому +1

      The yarn was 4ply worsted weight. I used a J hook. The size of the hook determines the size of the finished project. Hope this helps 😉

      kimberlybolden53 👋🏻, it may be a little big. My daughter is 12 it fits her. Take off about 2 inches. The yarn I used in this tutorial has no stretch.

    How to make a big one like that for a male with a dreadlocks

    • @CrochetGal
      @CrochetGal  3 роки тому +1

      What I would do, use a larger hook, that will increase the size of the beanie. Also, you’d increase the number of rows based on the size desired. Hope that helps! 😁
