Thank you Charlie. Perfect timing for this video since I ordered a drone from BBF last week. Your videos are a great reminder that practice is important, but patience is required too. Whether people are learning to play or make a flute, you demonstrate the necessity of patience without verbalizing it so much.
I feel like you made this video for my son since his new drone flute is on its way!! He's so excited. He's only 11 but can really play. I'll put a video of him playing on my UA-cam channel for you to watch. Take care!! Happy NEW YEAR! Roll Tide!
Great question, I do have a video with a more deep explanation to that however we actually put the track into the flute, not the block. Thanks for watching!
Bom dia eu moro no Brasil e acompanho vc eu quero muito aprender a fazer as flaltas naf como é as medidas das furações e como fazer as afirmações gratidão
So I been messaging since I started making bamboo flutes by hand. I sent one to Johnny lipford. He said my tuning is really great and doing allot of right things. He said go thicker and longer but I got the thickest I can find where I'm cutting it down. Thinking about getting machine and tools to make great flutes. Do you have any advice on tools and machines to get?
Johnny is not a flute maker, only a flute critic. The tools will really depend on what level of production and type of products you are wanting to make. Keep in mind is not the tools that make the flute.
Help! I got a drone flute and the place where I just moved in is extremely humid, to the point that a lot of my personal belongings had to be put in the garbage since they were covered in mold and fungi :( I just realized my flute is covered in particles as well, and the worst part is that I couldn't even play it since I got it :( (I didn't hear her original sound, just through a video when it was made). I was thinking that perhaps adding silica inside of the flute when stored can save her, but... Does anyone has a better solution? I live in Costa Rica and we are in the raining season right now in the province I am staying. Silica didn't work for my Koji bells... Can I place my flute under the sun every day? Thank you!
Can I do a layer of marine barnish on the outside of my flute? I am living in front of the ocean pretty much Or is it better just to use beewax and olive oil? (in and out)

Happy New year Charlie and Co. Tom
Do your flute blocks have a groove in the bottom for the sound hole?
